What is your favorite GCI train design
hyyyper replied to the ghost's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
From the GCI's I've ridden (Gwazi, ROAR(east), Troy, Wildcat, Lightning Racer), my favourite is lightning racer, followed by Troy and Gwazi. And from the looks of it, Ozark Wildcat, Kentucky Rumbler, Thunderhead, Prowler and Terminator should have no problems getting in my top 10. -
I'd say Canon too, those cameras has never dissapointed me and they are just awesome.

Wow, the new RCT4 will be 3DStudioMax, this will make my life complete

Well the system could work but while waiting in line for Goliath we saw a kid that was wearing a white wristband (140 cm) but was clearly under. So I asked his parents and they told me that he was 138 cm but that the park staff gave him a white one?!?! Which means he could get on all the rides without a problem. Parks tend to use a bit of margin. It's pretty harsh to send away a kid that half an inch to short. The ride system have a pretty decent safety margin, so using a one inch margin on those kids is still completely safe.

LMAO on the height limit thing. I've been dreaming about this ever since I start working in Toverland. It take care of parents trying to bribe you and operators that are negligent. Boomerang was supposed to be relocated to another park in the chain. But for some reason it didn't and now its got new train and will open somewhere this year. Or next year.

I have to disagree on the invert matter. Arrow came up with the suspended in 1981. B&M only locked the cars so they wouldn't topple over when an inversion would be taken too slowly.

eww...no dashes, they are horrible. But if possible, i'd line out the yellow under the TPR-world and center it on 'park'.

Woman sues Magic Springs

Can't we just copy&paste the last topic about a themepark lawsuit into here. It would certainly save us a lot of time discussing this one. -
PTR: Brent's TR's - 2009 TPR Scandinavia Tour
hyyyper replied to downunder's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
The ride-op told me he had never seen those passes. He called his area-sup and in full amazement found out that those passes were legit. The people in line where not to happy, though. The suddenly clever ride op only let a few of us on the train each cycle, hoping to stop the crowd from starting a riot. -

KD's (steel) rides weren't that bad. It was everything else that kinda dissapointed us. From how the operate the rides to how we were threaded. -
Montu's Wonderful World of Photos .....

^the key to making realistic tilt-shifts is: 1. get a downward angle, so that it looks like your looking onto a display from above 2. no visible horizon, miniature displays dont have real horizons either 3. blur away anything that is either closer or futher away from the object your focus on. -

1. moo-cow fuck milk Plain old traditional whole milk, as opposed to the 21st-century fabricated "milks" such as skim, 1%, 2%, soy, goat or acidophilus I just want back my moo-cow fuck milk! I know there ain't no such thing as soy milk because there ain't no soy titty, is there? - Lewis Black -
There is no rule that says "the more vertices, the better". In this case, those tracks were banked with the Automatic Heartline Generator. That program calculates the vertical and lateral forces on how many points you'd like. The output is a track with a lot of nodes, with perfect banking to eliminate lateral-G's.

Will there ever be an official "Meet Up" thread?
hyyyper replied to Crazy4Coasters!'s topic in Ask Alvey
I always hoped there'd be a meet-up calendar. A place where members could post when they would be going to a park. Other could reply to that and meet-up. Or a forum section to organize 'unofficial' meetups. Who knows, in the future... -

If you would do a clearance check at full speed, and something hits the train, you're in trouble. However, when pulling the train slowly, you can get rid of any obstructions before it wrecks the train.
