1. ^ The 25th last year was the Friday that started off Memorial Day weekend, which was when Tantrum opened. I have a good feeling that notice is from LAST May.
2. Kinda looks like SF has just been giving up on the Darienlake.com site, since they’re likely switching over to the Six Flags site soon. Twister is still on there, the Tantrum isn’t open until the 25th notice from last year is still there, etc. Looks like either they’re just not caring about the old site anymore or it’s just the wonderful Six Flags web team
3. I remember seeing that. That lady was so confused convinced it was B: TE. She just would give it up!
4. Remember the other day when somebody posted about how the website said Tantrum wouldn’t open until the 25th? I swear DL officials read this thread because now the website doesn’t mention Tantrum being closed and is showing the correct dates.
5. Next time someone from upstate calls me out for putting ranch on my wings I’ll just show them this post about what upstate New York considers respectable pizza and we can call it even. I’ve been to New York. I’ve been to Italy. I know what good pizza tastes like, and I can firmly tell you that, for a theme park, the personal pans at Darien Lake last season were definitely some of the best I’ve had throughout theme parks. You definelty just had a bad pizza. I gotta agree. While it’s certainly not even close to the best pizza out there (i’ve lived in Buffalo my whole life, I know good pizza), in relation to other theme parks, it’s actually pretty impressive. Honestly, Darien has some of the best theme park food in general. I mean, it isn’t necessarily good but in comparison to other theme parks i’ve been to, besides maybe Disney, the DL food has been impressively good. I am not sure if the food that they contracted for a corporate party in the party area is the same stuff they serve within the park but we went to a corporate party a couple years ago and the food served was some of the most vile, disgusting food I have ever had the pleasure of eating. Now I don't expect the world from theme park fare and I am generally not picky about served food especially when it doesn't cost me any money to eat but man, this food was barely edible. A lot of people weren't eating anything and we couldn't access the drink machine because it was swarming with bees, well that isn't necessarily DL's problem as its a problem when you have soda outside no matter what in the summer but still annoying. They could have provided bottles of water to drink instead of having to get the water from the drink machine that was swarming with bees or at least a water dispenser of some sort with paper cups in the food area, I have seen kegs full of water, they could have used one of those. I can't describe the hamburgers and the mac and cheese must have contained a substance other than cheese on it because it both looked like plastic and tasted like plastic. They did serve fruit but well, it didn't taste like fruit, I think they put something on it that made it not taste like fruit, it was the kind of fruit that is served out of a bag. The only good thing was they served ice cream bars out of a cooler and believe me that was the best part of the meal. I attended a catered party at DL in 2016 I believe. The food at that party was disgusting. I’ve worked in theme park catering in the past and I’ll tell you the food at the catered picnic is far worse and cheaper then the food sold at the stands. Think about it, how much needs to be made at once. Sometimes we’d have over a thousand people we needed to make food for. Hot dogs and burgers are cheap brand, hundreds thrown on the grill at once and everyone rushing. The cheap catering food and cooks rushing to tend to all the hundreds on the grill doesn’t result in a good product. I mean, we could offer better food at these events but think about how much it would cost the person booking it for possibly thousands of people.
6. ^ And Bill, it is a literal sin to dip wings in ranch. No. Don’t. Just don’t do it.

8. They haven’t started constructing it and they only have just over 2 weeks.....wow that thing must really be able to be built quickly!!
9. Pretty much almost everything in the park has looked like crap for the past few years now most notably, "Superman" Ride of Steel, Viper's station, and I think some of the kiddie rides in the "Seaport" area. Don’t forget about Mind Eraser’s half paint job
10. I’m just glad that since they aren’t getting a new sign, that they are at least re-doing the existing one. That thing has looked like crap for these past few years now.
11. Yes, it was. Found this very low quality photo off Google.... Paint and the finishes were a bit different back then, but that sign goes wayyy back it appears.
12. As for the portal, has anyone else that has gotten the all season dining noticed that it isn’t mentioned on the portal? It says that I have the drink bottle for the plan but not mentioned the plan itself anywhere in my offers. Drink bottle for dining plan but no dining plan listed......interesting
13. Speaking of the website, did anyone else notice that Tantrum was never put on the website for some reason? A bit strange that their newest coaster wouldn’t be a priority to advertise about on the site.
14. Um....what on earth is this?? CP’s strange new instagram post
15. Is that the app where you can buy these? Lol I swear I can’t tyoe today, fixed. My point is why is Six Flags being SO SLOW and hesitant to actually get things done?? Not on the app still, not on the website still, just became SFDL, and the new ride isn’t being constructed yet even though it easily could have, etc. It’s just weird how amazingly slow Six Flags has been towards adding DL to their chain.
16. By the way, speaking of Six Flags changes...will the park ever be on the Six Flags app?? The park opens in almost 3 weeks and there’s still no sign of the place on the app.
17. Speaking of social media, this was what the park just posted on their Twitter page. Looks like they’re finally realizing that they are SIX FLAGS Darien Lake now, and got rid of that Darien Lake Vacations logo for their camping ads, and instead using a new “SFDL Hotel and Campground” logo.
18. This is where my question comes in: Why didn’t they start building it yet? If they did, it could be ready to roll by opening weekend. The weather is nice enough to do so now, so just why not?
19. I can confirm that at least they recently updated the snapchat geofilter for the park to the new Six Flags branding finally. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Speaking of Snapchat, what ever happened to Darien Lake’s Snapchat account? Did it just sort of die off?
20. They have added a tab under “attractions” for SkyScreamer, yet they forgot to take off Twister. Obviously they recently updeted the website yet they kept a ride that no longer exists on there. Wow
21. From what I've heard no plans for characters or bigger area or ride theming. Might see some merchandise. Otherwise the numbers aren't high enough to justify the licensing costs. So BBB/Rocky's Ridge will likely stick around in name. Also since people apparently love signage news the Hotel's sign is down at present for replacement. Where did you hear about the lack of IPs? Do you work there or something? How do you know this is not just some sort of rumor? Hes had info in the past, so more then likely hes right Agreed, he has had very credible info in all his posts.
22. The google maps satelite photo of my house is probably 3 years old. I dont think they update that frequently. Cedar point still shows steel vengence under construction. Google maps still shows my house as a dirt lot. I’ve been living here for 7 years. Yeah, they don’t update it much.
23. Although it’s strange that they still haven’t switched over the website, what I find a bit weirder is some of the posts on their social media. Look at their most recent Facebook post for example. They are literally still making posts with the “Darien Lake” logo, although they’re officially SFDL now. Here’s yesterday’s Facebook post. Can’t believe they’re still using the old logo!
24. Are they doing the free admission with a concert ticket deal again this year? I honestly wish they never did that deal. Makes the park basically impossible to visit for people who just want to go to the park, and not a concert. I went to DL the day of the Post Malone concert, mainly for Tantrum’s opening weekend, and the park was so crowded to the point where you couldn’t even move. I had to park in the grass concert lot wayyyy in the back, because the whole lot was full (should have been a sign to just leave). I did Tantrum after an hour wait and left. RoS had a multi-hour wait, due to the ridiculous one train ops. But I learned my lesson to never visit DL the day of a concert. It’s absolutely awful.
