  1. I’ve always thought the punishments should be stricter. Maybe it would finally get people to stop with the “selfies” and “cell phone povs” on the coasters. People need to understand they are risking everybody’s safety while being on their phone “cause it can’t wait a minute when the ride is over”.
  2. I think that could be a good idea actually. It would draw more people over to the front gate path, and could help that area get built up a little more. It’s kinda boring when you enter the park with no rides in sight. Have a good first impression to park guests by giving them a big FREE ride once they walk in. On the other hand, I heard from a Catering worker at DL that he was told it’ll go either in Twister’s current site or the Go-Karts current site. Anyways, I think it is likely that it will go somewhere in that back area of the park. Twiste rhas has rumors of removal for years now and the Go-Karts are rumored to be removed, so either one of those spots makes sense. It would also hopefully bring some life into that totally dead area of the park.
  3. Some people’s stupidity never fails to amaze me. As “unfair” as you may feel the rules are, you still need to obey them just like the rest of the world. At Darien Lake, the ride ops don’t care enough to stop people filming with their phones on coasters, so everywhere you look, someone has their phone out. It is a serious safety risk and these people don’t seem to realize that their stupidity could seriously impact someone else’s life.
  4. You would think proximity to Viper would be a problem too. Dont want someone dropping something from SkyScreamer onto the Viper track or train. Sleighride’s current location makes the most sense. It’s a central location and that ride is certainly on its way out, just look at it.
  5. I have always thought a swing ride like a Star Flyer would be great for DL (or should I say SFDL ) it will provide an amazing view, and change the DL skyline as it is even taller than RoS. As for where to put it, I could even see it going in Sleigh Ride’s current location. The ride is most certainly on its last legs and is starting to become an eyesore to the area. BUT, here’s the real question for 2019: Will they run 2 trains?
  6. Does anyone know why it isn’t running all three trains? I know the two days I was there, although it was down, from the CP&LE RR I could see there was always one train on the transfers. Something up with the block sections?
  7. you might recall that I could *barely* (and I mean barely) walk on that last day. . and I rode Maverick during ERT SIX times. does not hurt at all, as the restraints hit on the shoulders rather than on the legs. now, that said? some of the transitions can be a little jarring if you aren't prepared for them, but lean into them and smooth as glass. That’s how I felt about it. It was a great ride. At the end of the night on Monday I rode it 4 times in a row as it was a 5 minute wait. Yet, half my friends didn’t go on because “it was too painful” which makes no sense to me.
  8. Quick question about Maverick: has anyone here not liked it and thought it hurts? A couple of my friends got off and said it hirt and they didn’t like it. I was shocked because Maverick is one of the best rides at CP in my opinion. Anyone else felt negatively towards Maverick?
  9. I’m still a little pissed that it was down both days I was there. Oh well, I’ll come back in 2020, maybe it’ll be open then. I just have the worst luck!
  10. On a different note, I saw that the Flash Sale can get you a Gold Season Pass for $55. Is this my only opportunity to get a Gold Pass at that low of a rate or is it one of those “it’s never really full price and we just call it a sale to get people to buy it” sort of things? I want to ensure free parking (which you need a gold pass for) and want to know if I should buy it during the Flash Sale beginning Thursday or if I could wait until later. I’m just unfamiliar with the way Six Flags does their Season Pass sales.
  11. That happened to me yesterday while in line for Valravn. Breakdowns can happen with a train on the course. For example, yesterday as a train was on the course, the train in the station was ready to be unloaded, the restraints opened, but the big gate at the front of the station, in front of the tracks wasn’t fully closed yet. It was a simple computer timing glitch, but it had to go down for a good few minutes, although a train was still cycling at the time.
  12. On a different note, yesterday I accidentally rode Magnum in the ejector seat, and I’ll just say that it was the most interesting Magnum experience I’ve had in a while. The airtime was so insane to the point where it hurt! Anyone else had experiences with Maggie’s ejector seat? I’d love to here your opinions on it. I honestly didn’t realize I was in that seat until I was halfway up the lift hill I did back seat last night and it was the greatest coaster ride I have ever had. I was honestly shocked that it lived up to if not exceeded all my high expectations for it. What a great addition to the lineup!
  13. I know Dragster is very well known for its constant breakdowns, but it also seems to be doing worse this year than it historically has been the past few years. It has been down almost all day for the past few days now. I don’t even think it opened at all today. If it did, it was for an extremely brief amount off time.
  14. Tin Lizzie’s isn’t in Darien Square, that can stay as is. Motocoaster on the other hand will need to be re-worked. I say just open up that red gate right next to Moto, just before Darien Square. While they’re at it, they could fix up that old red bridge over the Tin Lizzie’s and open that back up. As for rides on the way out, I feel Sleigh Ride could be on it’s way out, as it looks very similar to how Raging Seas looked in its final years. Pirate has not opened once all year, and hasn’t swung as high as it used to in years. That could easily be replaced by a newer model, like the one at Seabreeze. As for Twister, I’m not sure if that rid ewill be going. Although it is commonly closed, and doesn’t have a very great maintenance record, it recently got a mechanical overhaul, which is the one thing that makes me think it might last a bit longer. It wouldn’t make sense for all that time and money to be spent on getting a ride in good condition again just to close it in a year or two.
  15. There are a lot of full-season campers at Darien Lake who have campfires every night. There is no way that campers are going to want to have to walk all the way over to the amphitheatre to get to the park and then have to walk all the way over to Darien Square and then all the way back around to the campground. It wouldn't work like that. Also, the General Store has never officially been open to the public. Non-campers don't need to buy wood and camping supplies. The full-season campers would not want a lot of non-campers in that store or in that area, tbh. Campers will be happy that area is going to be handed back to campers only. I’m going to totally refute your statement. I have never camped at DL, but go to the park almost every week. You don’t know just how many times I went to the general store to buy something. Often, I don’t buy food at the park and instead bring a portable propane camp stove and have hot dogs or burgers in a picnic shelter out in the parking lot. There have been countless times I have forgotten a propane tank, hot dog/ burger buns, a lighter, etc. The general store is useful for non campers as well, and allowing non-campers to utilize it is another source of revenue for them. I don’t see why they would want to take that away. So, correct me if I am wrong. You actually walked through the park with a propane tank and a lighter? Maybe that is another reason security is now required at the campers entrance. Do you seriously take everything and twist it into the opposite viewpoint? That wasn’t the point. The points was that it is useful to non-campers as well.
  16. Non-campers do not need anything in the General Store, and there is already a nice arcade in the park. Non-campers don't need to be in that area. So Pizza In The Square would be closed off for non-campers then too? Also doing this, doesn't it cut the complete circle, so if you're at Boomerang, you're gonna have to walk all the way back to the boardwalk and past Viper's batwing to get to Twister? The park complains about Twister having low ridership, causing it to be the first ride closed due to staffing, yet wouldn’t this cause it to have even lower ridership? Nobody would want to walk all the way to that dead end just for Tin Lizzie’s and Twister. It just will not work.
  17. I understand a lot of these at me being a bit nitpicky, but all the other times I have been to the park, maintenance wasn’t an issue. So either I just hit the park on two bad days, or the maintenance budget went down. My gut says option 2. Millennium Force being down with no mechanics even on site later in the day (as seen from the CP&LE RR) is just flat out ridiculous. Arguably the best coaster in the park, and only sent up 2 cycles in 2 days. Maybe in a few years when I plan to return, the rides will actually work. My point is that CP’s down rides to working rides ratio is worse than Darien Lake’s. That’s saying something because DL is notorious for awful maintenance.

  19. Yeah, after my two-day trip for the first time in a few years, I can say that this was probably the most disappointing visit I’ve ever made to CP. This was my 5th time I’ve visited the park and I’ve never seen so many rides down each day. For example, I wa in line for Dragster, went down for 5 hours (I guess this isn’t that surprising though), Valravn went down twice for maintenance, SV did while I was still in line, Blue Streak went down, MaxAir went down as I was in line, and the worst of all, MF wasn’t open all day, after only sending two trains around last night before going down. It’s annoying that I never got to ride it this visit, but at least I got 3 rides on SV, one in the back row. Overall, just overall disappointing although it was still a fun time.
  20. This is my question, why don’t they just keep Darien Square open to everyone and just close off the campground? Here’s how it could look, the yellow marks are where the gates could be constructed:
  21. Also forgot to mention: this morning I noticed MF’s Blue Train stuck halfway on the bottom of the lift. I don’t know how concerning this is, does anyone know if that could mean something bad?
  22. That's pretty much it. I got to the park late (4-ish), and I don't think Millennium Force had opened at all yet to that point. Eventually, I saw them cycling empties, and then loaded trains a little while later. I figured I'd take care of other things first and make my way out to it, but by the time I did... I think this is the first time I've been to Cedar Point without at least one lap on MF. I turned it into an extra lap on Maverick and Steel Vengeance to close off the day. Side note- got my first taste of Fast Lane Plus yesterday, and I'm not sure there is any going back. Yeah, I’ve been hitting very bad luck here. Every ride seems to break down as I’m in line for it. After Mille broke as soon as I got in line last night, I got 2 laps on Maverick and 1 on SV to finish the night off. This was because of FL+, I feel you, I don’t think I can go back to the “commoners” line
  23. That’s odd. It doesn’t even seem that windy here today.
  24. I’m at Cedar Point right now. WindSeeker has been down all day, please don’t hope for a WindSeeker. They are way too unreliable.
  25. Valravn just reopened, I’m in line now. I just want to get at least one ride on Millie during my visit, as I probably won’t be back for a couple years. Its just kind of annoying. I got in line last night after it finally opened, but it went down for the night as I got in line. TTD has been down almost all day, glad I got on it early yesterday. Currently, Corkscrew, Millie, TTD, WindSeeker, and Sky Ride are down. Anyone know what’s up with Sky Ride? I thought it was fairly reliable yet it has been down for a few hours now. There isn’t even any real winds.
