  1. They can just name the predator this. I feel jumping through a table is about as painful as the last few rows... It could work for Mind Eraser too, last week I swear I got my worst ride ever on it. It seems to be riding worse than ever this year in my experiences.
  2. When I was there the other day there was a pretty good amount of track being ripped off, so I wouldn’t be shocked if it wasn’t open for awhile, they were starting to add the new track to one hill when I was there and that’s about it. When I saw track being ripped off I was like “RMC, is that you” haha, oh well, at least they’re trying to make Predator more enjoyable, if that’s possible.
  3. Not staffing. Drive gearbox broke. Any update on Pirate Overheard guest relations simply telling a guest who was complaining about rides down that Pirate will not open at all this season. This is what makes no sense about this place. Why on earth do they always have rides sitting SBNO an entire year before removing them? Look at Ranger, Twister, now Pirate. Clearly the thing’ll never run again and i’m sure they knew this before the season started. Why not just remove it before the season so it isn’t a giant eyesore in the middle of the lake.
  4. To be honest, my experiences with CP’s food options have been the worst of any park i’ve visited. Last month, at Roundup, the stand sort of near SV, I had to wait 30 minutes for them to bring change over to fill up the cash register, then I finally get the chicken fingers and they were small and horribly overcooked. Tasted like just burnt nastiness. At Melt last week, after almost an hour, our food was finally done, but they gave it away to the wrong table and they started eating it, refused to even give us a discount for over an hour and still no food. Ended up leaving and going to ......wait for it......Famous Dave’s, which is okay but better than anything in the park. Honestly SF Darien Lake has much better food and service than anything I’ve had at CP...and that’s really saying something since their food and service is pretty awful. It’s an area all amusement parks need to step up a bit on, but especially CP, it just doesn’t quite meet the standard for what one would expect from the park.
  5. It’s more that the park truly does not care. Look around the place, so many things that are in bad shape that just scream laziness. Look at Sleighride. We thought it looked awful last year, but somehow it managed to get worse this year. Too lazy to put the roof on it, or the decor on the top, or even the ride’s sign back onto the queue house for god’s sake. Oh and don’t forget the missing piece of the wall on it and the missing lights over the tarp now too! Moose on the Loose, same thing, something you’d think would just be a given gets left out because they truly don’t care as long as it doesn’t lose them money. You have no idea why certain things arent done, youre just assuming. Think about it. I’ll use Sleighride as my example again. It was pretty clear and obvious last year that it needed just a bit of attention. Legit a tarp and a few screws and it would look right again. One year later and that still hasn’t happened. How on earth could that be anything other than pure laziness at this point. Even I could probably go up there right now and screw in a sign and some decorations, wouldn’t be that hard to do and not very time-consuming. The tarp might take a bit more work but come on, not that difficult stuff here.

  7. Cannot believe they actually opened the place. Based on the photos it totally should be closed. Sucks to see it like this, it’s my favorite place to eat at when i’m at the park since it’s always dead in there, even on busy Saturdays!
  8. When I walked by it earlier today, I couldn’t help but stop and notice just how disgusting that water looks. I know it’s kinda brown every year but it seems to be even nastier than years past. Also I know there were comments about the splash on the bridge not being as big this year but trust me, it seems they’ve figured that issue out. People on the bridge got absolutely soaked today! Another thing I forgot to mention today, near the RoS exit, against the old Fright Fest gate, they had a few high office managers or possibly Six Flags corporate people with a camera interviewing random guests on camera as they exited the ride. Not sure what for, didn’t bother asking and I wasn’t offered the opportunity. Found it quite interesting.
  9. Alright, I just got back from a day at the park, and there are clear signs of under-staffing as soon as you get there. Only one lane open to scan into the parking lot. Then, they only had two workers at the front gate scanning tickets and passes. The line to enter the park was back past the little ticket booths out front. It was just ridiculous. Rides closed today were Pirate (Wow, shocker), Corn Popper (likely staffing, as noted), Red Hawk (staffing), and Predator, which is closed yet again for more re-tracking. The whole large hill towards the back of it was totally stripped of its track with new wood being drilled into place. Another thing I noticed was something strange with Ride of Steel. I'm not sure if the train had a flat wheel or something, but the whole way up the lift hill there was this loud and hard thumping sound. Maybe it's not anything but found it a bit odd. Someone asked about the balloon ride. Still not assembled at all but listed on the sheet posted at the entrance of closed rides for the day, which leads me to believe it's just getting a refurb or waiting on a part. Moto was finally back open, but the green lights aren't timed with the launch now. It goes red, green, then takes a good few seconds before it actually launches. But hey, at least it's working again.
  10. Oh it’s totally under now? When I was there a few weeks ago the walkways weren’t under yet. Only the parking lot was. Dang this rain this year has been insane!
  11. Well, Valravn’s downtime chart has finally hit all-red. Interesting sight to see. Anyone been hearing anything about what’s taking so long to get things running again? I know for a fact it didn’t take nearly this long to get SV back open after the bump.
  12. 1. Meal pass is pretty simple. Just go up to the register and they’ll scan the pass, has been working nicely for me. All items eligible are labeled on the menus. 2. Same drink cups, so they’re totally honored. 3. I believe you redeem the skip passes at Member Services, which is right near Viper’s entrance. We don’t have designated lines for fast passes yet (except for Skyscreamer), so just walk up the exit of each ride. 4. Not sure about that one... 5. There is preferred parking for members, right near the entrance. Just pull up with your membership and show it to them. Enjoy your time here at SFDL!
  13. Pirate needs a part that is likely very very difficult to get since parts aren’t being produced anymore for old ships like that one. Overall, Corn Popper has been doing pretty well these past few years, considering it’s age. I remember a few years ago when it was constantly down because the hydraulics and all those pistons didn’t want to cooperate. I’m just glad Six Flags likes adding new flat rides to it’s parks a lot, because pretty much all our flats are so old to the point where they can’t even get parts to fix them. I’m just hoping to see a few more here (Pirate and Sleighride are BEGGING to be retired) are added these next few years. As for Moto, every year it seems to have a few weeks of downtime because the launch wants to act up. It was closed mid-week last week when I was there and was down again today.
  14. Pop of air is way less fun than it was with the belts, also the location is a problem. Since it’s tucked so far back, pretty much everybody didn’t notice it and the restraints had to come back up, slowing down operations like crazy.
  15. Blast Off is finally open for the year. There is now an extra seatbelt underneath the restraints for some reason. Pirate, Corn Popper and Motocoaster all closed today. Moto’s been down awhile now, I swear the launch system has issues every year for a long time.
  16. ^ That makes a lot of sense actually. Staffing has been a big issue at the park this season for sure.
  17. Rides with less demand, like Boomerang went right to 10, but RoS seemed to close up a few minutes early. I just wish they’d be open even later than 10. I just don’t get why theme parks all close so early. I was at CP last weekend, and I heard a good amount of people wondering why they aren’t open until 11 or later. I guess most people just don’t want to come to the parks at night. Always baffled me since I’ve always found it a better experience riding coasters at night.
  18. Dude, I know it sucks that they’re shortening hours mid-season, but it’s not a huge change. It’s only a half hour earlier. That half hour shouldn’t determine whether or not you should stay there.
  19. I was going to say probably not, but it appears it’s actually open again!
  20. I noticed it too, i’m sort of surprised, given it has water on the drop this year. I noticed for people standing on the bridge, the water got the bottom of their legs and that’s about it. I wonder what’s going on with it.
  21. This pst weekend there was only one coaster where my request wasn’t honored, Maverick. Valravn, SV, Raptor, and any others I may be forgetting all allowed me to wait extra for front or back. I’ve never understood the row assignments. I’m sure there wouldn’t be empty trains if they just let everyone pick a gate to go to. I mean look at Millie, GK, Magnum, TTD for example....totally full trains and people enjoy the open station much better. At Darien Lake it’s all open station, nobody even stopping everyone from getting into the station. Everyone can still figure it out and still fill the trains. Forcing rows on people really doesn’t do much good from what i’ve seen.
  22. Yeah they started doing that because on opening weekend they allowed line skippers to pick a seat and it basically made waiting in line for the front seat useless because you’d never actually be able to get on. So now they pick middle seats and alternate which ones each time.
  23. Yes and there is finally water flowing down the hill again! Also another thing to note, Moto was down all day Seems to be having that annual few weeks out of service with launch system issues thing again. ......and of course Pirate was closed
