  1. for those who miss the sky streak its here http://rcdb.com/ig713.htm?picture=3
  2. Hey Out of interest have you guys ridden one of the bigger x-cars? I rode G-Force and as most people seem to i hated it. However i rode Abismo last year and loved it. There was such a difference it was incredible. This one seems like its going to fit into the G-force subset admitedly. But i wouldnt write of all x-cars just yet
  3. hey although ive never been its always interested me as it was the only park in america that ever had a sansei coaster. although its now in south america. Sansei = Japanese Coaster Builder
  4. Check this artical out http://www.coastersandmore.de/rides/twister/twistermain.shtml plenty of pics although it is in german Looks like an awesome ride. have loved all of the MS spinners ive been on so far.
  5. With all the accelerators going in around the world at the moment i almost forgot Intamin made normal mega coasters. http://www.parkworld-online.com/news/fullstory.php/aid/188/9_new_Intamin_coasters.html with the announcement that Tobu Zoo are adding one in 2007 im wondering what Intamin will do with the seating? as all new Rockets have had OSTR's will they add this system to the new megas?
  6. a slightly older set of pics here http://blog.so-net.ne.jp/katuboke/archive/200701 but it does show beyond doubt that it had dual loading stations some nice new angles in there too although that layout drawing is deffinetly a bit off.
  7. I've known about the sale of the mega for a while now but ive just not known which park it was supposed to goto so im inclined to believe the site. they are usually correct on such things.
  8. http://www.asovini.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=409&postorder=asc&start=15&sid=d21700e144986fbcd4261f62af66ef98 this forum now has some new pictures of the tunnel (is it really a tunnel?) stretching to the top of the lift. and a couple of new angles of other parts of the ride Edit: one or 2 blogs have posted the opening date as march the 9th.
  9. sorry my mistake i knew which park it was i just forgot which end of the islands it was. your right it is the southern park
  10. that actually looks pretty nifty. love the open sided cars a pity you cant see the rest of the track but its still pretty cool
  11. Mitsui greenland (the bigger one in the south (not the north (whoops))) have just announced it is getting a new indoor coaster for 2007. http://www.greenland.co.jp/index2.html http://www.greenland.co.jp/atraction/black/index.html (click Black Hole) not much really but any new coaster is a bit of good news Sounds like it will be a standard indoor afair really. but the japanese do have some pretty special indoor coasters so heres hopeing.
  12. i can see a tunnel fitting in quite well. Surely the problem is the entrance and exit will be offset. so a straight track wont work. either the entrance or exit hills will have to be modified.
  13. Heya, Having been to leoland (i took those photos actually) the leoland coaster does look good but unfortunatly as far as im aware its been shut since i was there in 2004. It was built by what i think is an offshoot of pinfari they have a site here http://www.raster.it/pinfari/ heres a shot during the construction of the mall Anyhow dubaidave The 2 new coasters for Siam Park are a boomerang and a custom SLC. they were first located at jerudong park in Brunei http://rcdb.com/qs.htm?quicksearch=Pusing+lagi The Custom SLC was known as Pusing Lagi and is a slightly modified version of the standard SLC. There is also a clone of it at Suzhou Amusement Land in china http://rcdb.com/pd608.htm There is a new park in bangkok in the form of "wonder world fun park" The park has a sister coaster to the slalam down south and an interesting set of tower rides. unfortunatly the site is down at the moment (it was up last week) http://rcdb.com/pd1539.htm This new park does have a hubless wheel which the coaster passes through Pattaya is deffienetly doable in a day. although i say the best way to do it would be to book an overnight coach down from bangkok and one back. if you avoid the touts on the street and watch where the backpackers go you can probably grab one for as little as $7 each way. i used to go down to Krabi (which is much further south at about 14 hours) for about $10 a throw. If you have a spare day "Leoland" at Central City Bangna Shopping Center is worth a visit for the water park on the roof of the shopping mall. And if their coaster is running then it looks pretty good. "Yoyo land" at the Seacon Square shopping center is one to miss though. Zoom is possibly the worst coaster ive ever been on lol. but if you want the credit
  14. Hey all RCTM has had one BIG update THats one hell of a start to a ride if you ask me. even if it is quite short Any idea anyone? on-ride photo maybe? but seems an odd place for one. The veiw of the 2nd turnaround over the lake How high will the tunnel go i wonder? http://coaster.fc2web.com/special/usj/index.htm
  15. This updates a little weird. Appears the lift hill will at least start off enclosed.
  16. i swear thats more than 50degrees lol the clearence on this still looks far to small http://blog.opus21.net/
  17. Krung Thep (City Of Angels) is Actually short for Krungthep Mahanakhon Amonrattanakosin Mahintharayutthaya Mahadilokphop Noppharatratchathani Burirom-udomratchaniwet Mahasathan Amonphiman Awatansathit Sakkathattiya Witsanu Kamprasit So i can see why they call it just Krung Thep
  18. Hey Nice report I lived in bangkok for a while and love it. its just mad yet everyone is polite and gracious too. its bizzare. Anyway ive been trying to figure out where that photo of the traffic is taken? From what i can remember it looks like its outside the (HUGE) MBK shopping center where the 2 skytrain lines meet? I also love the KFC prices over there 95baht is about £1.30 ($2.60) for a meal. which is about 3 times cheaper than over here lol
  19. Hey all i know most people here no longer play RCT 1 if you ever played it at all. but for me it is still the seminal game in the RCT series and i still love it (stacking and banked dropping turns are not available in RCT 1) anyway ive been working on a new park recently currently only known as "project metro". but it uses the codex trainer (see: http://forums.nedesigns.com/index.php?showtopic=14974 ) hence theres a few new things to RCT 1:LL in it. using the gyro drop to make a stand for statues Fun with the rapids ride A Eurofighter and custom brake run. A backwards drop on a shoestring water ride. a very unfinished highway on a car ride. a more industrial theme Dueling hyper coasters Intamin track in RCT 1 the heavily hacked Monorail station. Anyway i hope you like. even those of you who dont play LL Cheers all Dave
  20. Hey all Does anyone know what the fundermental difference was between the 2 rides (lightning and the Cyclone?) i always hear they were "near" clones but i've never seen a good enough overview to see the differences. Cheers Dave
  21. the first drop is in. i think all thats left is the track between the 2nd and 3rd bunny hops and whatever happens after this wall http://blog.livedoor.jp/gl_usj/
  22. That curve reminds me of something GCI might do. so hopefully it will be pretty cool. the 2nd turnaround is done now too http://coaster.fc2web.com/special/usj/index.htm
  23. the 2nd turnaround is done but just check this out http://coaster.fc2web.com/special/usj/gallery/061216/USJ_Richard20061216_02.jpg that thing looks awesome
  24. The 2nd turnaround is going up. that also looks like much steeper than 50degrees.
  25. has anyone noticed it appears to have a double loading station?
