I'll have to admit. I'm not sure what any of that means. -

Such a definitive statement from someone that has no clue what is going to happen. They didn't announce anything in August because they are advertising the water park improvements. Why nerf that announcement with a new coaster announcement? Also, why are you looking for signs of construction on a weekend? Especially on a weekend where guests are in the park. The fact that nothing happened in the first 30 seconds after the "Last Rites" just tells us that they don't want to announce anything yet. There is nothing more to it than that. -

What is surprising about dismantling already was the PointFest activity back there. That was a lot of extra visibility for the ride. They certainly didn't waste any time putting up construction fences all over the Challenge Park/Soak City area. -

I think it's a good fit next to Pinks. That section back there is very visible from the main midway, and the footprint of the ride fits pretty well. -

I think most people would consider Power Tower to be a drop tower. -

I don't think they have an answer because an answer would give hint to the future of the development. Unfortunately, I cannot remember the source, but I do remember analyzing the exact statement. See if you can spot the difference between what was said, and what many people seem to have heard: "[Plans for the future of Frontier Town] will be announced after the closing of Mean Streak on September 16th." vs "[Plans for the future of Frontier Town] will be announced, after the closing of Mean Streak, on September 16th." -

Met first girlfriend on RCT fan site. Our "first" date was at SFA, our "second" date was at Cedar Point, and our third was at Hersheypark. -

Because it was stated that future plans would be "announced after Mean Streak closes on September 16." Enough people were creative enough to attach the date to "announcement" instead of "closing" and put us in this cycle of misinformation. -

I would imagine most people riding would have difficulty counting the white track sections during the launch. Day or night doesn't matter so much with how many lights are around the ride. -

Nobody knows what's going on with Mean Streak and anyone that claims they do is lying. All we know is that it's closing on Friday. Well obviously SOMEBODY knows... They just won't say anything in favor of retaining their employment with The Company. -

They will want full weekend publicity. There's no guarantee it will even be before the end of the season. -

If I have the budget available, I prefer the cabins. If I'm staying at a hotel, there's a dozen at the end of the causeway that are "good enough" for sleeping. Being less than 2 hours away, I don't often need to stay on site. -

Kings Island is phenomenal for night rides. But I disagree about driving at night. At speeds above 120mph it feels faster during the day because things that you would normally see are suddenly blurred. At night many things are too dark to see anyways. -

I was actually very surprised that LR won given the amount of time it spent in "technical rehearsal" throughout the summer. -

Like CP, Friday nights are usually pretty good for rides. But keep in mind being closer to the city, the crowd is primarily teenagers, so it just "feels" much busier than a Friday at CP. I am looking at getting down there for a Friday as well. I have to fit it in between CP visits, and the big haunted houses I go to in NEOhio. -

After a decade of basically zero capital investment into the park, I am not surprised. Unhappy, but not surprised. -

I didn't even notice that those area's were open during Haunt. I know KI closes there's down during the event, maybe that's because they have a scarezone going right through it. But regardless, I don't see many kids there during that event that keeping the kids area's open would see a lot of traffic on the rides. Maybe I'm wrong in that. Kings Island also differentiates between the daytime event and the evening event. I think the real difference is due to the resorts, where CP offers Friday tickets to resort guests that buy tickets for Saturday or Sunday. If those guests have children, they are less likely to spend time (and money) in the park with no areas for the kids. -

I'm fortunate that my girlfriend loves riding all the big rides, but she doesn't care much for park operations and future rumors. -

That was about the peak of my "enthusiasm" as I was still in school for engineering. I actually ended up dating someone that I met through TPOL for about a year and a half. (I don't know what was wrong with me.) Outside of that, I didn't (and still don't) really interact much with people from the community. There's only one person that I met through TPOL that I still stay in touch with, and even when I see her at CP it's usually just a wave from a distance. Now I'm trying to figure you who you might be! There's a good chance we probably met at some point back in the day! What was your screen name over there? Back then, I simply went by Maverick. I don't think I went to any meetups, but I do remember a crowd forming around me when I intercepted Dick over by Skyhawk on opening day 2006. -

I do fit the role of "guru" among my friends, so I am available to answer questions, or discuss rumors with them. I don't really seek out conversations, though. So, if I've seen you and avoided you, it wasn't personal. I just want to ride some rides. -
