  1. Where do people see a dual-width structure, other than the top of the 2nd turn? The rest of the structure is still only single-width.
  2. I learned the hard way about 15 years ago not to talk about what was coming even if I knew what was coming. I'm sure that the people who know aren't going to tell you they know. In fact, those people enjoy speculation more than anyone else.
  3. I dislike most park food options. The best pizza I've had, in a park, was probably at Dollywood. But I don't eat (and enjoy) pizza too often while at parks.
  4. I always managed to find my presents early... On a related note: I don't care about movie spoilers, either. Now, I couldn't care less if they announce anything, but I would like them to acknowledge it so I had "legitimate" access to progress updates.
  5. 3 new pages and for what? Oh... that...
  6. Funny how the community is connected like that...
  7. It will need a way to gain energy partway through the ride. I don't expect that to happen with the rumored 200ft height.
  8. I recently watched a rumor video where the guy swore he had a good source that New Mean Streak will be using Gerstlauer trains. He also swore that it would be opening in Fall 2017 but I think that was mainly his opinion and not the supposed "source." Unless they are planning on having "preview" rides during the fall, it would be a terrible idea. It's already the worst season for staffing vs business levels. Adding a new ride at the time could just cause unnecessary dissatisfaction from the guests' perspective.
  9. So, that Twitter account that showed up about a week ago seems to have access to high res photos from inside the park. Would it surprise anyone if these were "officially" leaked?
  10. I haven't seen it, but I've been on the other side of these absurd crowds for a March release. We sold out almost every show from Thursday night through Monday night. We added 2 extra screens for overflow seating on both Saturday and Monday. Spring break for the local schools was last week, but yesterday and today the crowds were significantly higher than last week. There was no way we could have been prepared for the business this movie brought in, even with boosting our staffing levels. We just don't have summer staff levels in the middle of the school year. I have heard some of the music, though, and that seems to be very well done.
  11. It wasn't the last time they used a TV show theme, either.
  12. Some people probably think you should have gotten the chicken, or salad instead. You probably could have survived on vegetables, too. But if the burger makes sense now, and you feel you need to eat anyway, maybe it's not such a bad idea. You could still have plans for steak next week, too.
  13. If the burger you buy this week prevents you from going hungry until you can afford the steak, would you still skip it?
  14. Holiday World has a fantastic selection of rides. Not as many as Kings Island, but the quality is there.
  15. They never implemented a good version of Roller Coaster Tycoon "World", to the point where you had to actually compete for market share and used attendance trends to guide your spending. Edit: I think I'm gonna go look for my RCT2 disc now...
  16. Kings Island's market share is not growing. It is not a destination park, like Cedar Point. So you need to ask, did CF see enough ROI after building Leviathan up in Toronto? Has Carowinds seen significant growth since the install of Fury? They are very likely looking at Kentucky Kingdom and Holiday World when deciding what to do with Kings Island, as the only comparison to Cedar Point should be one of relative trends. Mystic Timbers is a safe investment that should pull market share from the other local attractions, and isn't big enough to have a negative effect on Cedar Point. Building a $30-40 million giga coaster will increase market share, but are they going to hurt their own revenue streams in doing so? Mystic Timbers could, for all we know, be a response to the growth seen by HW and KK in the last few years. If I had access to their market research and revenue numbers I could give a more accurate answer. Needless to say, I find Mystic Timbers to be a good decision at a park that is known for having good wooden coasters. I have no doubt that Voyage was built a few hours away to take attention away from The Beast and it's legacy.
  17. If you ever needed an excuse (besides Fury) to visit the park, how about getting your money's worth out of that Platinum Pass?
  18. Of course they care about anniversaries. It's something they can market without spending any money.
  19. Millennium Flyers' lapbars fit perfectly at the top of my thigh and the bottom of my stomach, where the seatbelt buckle likes to sit. So it's like specifically wedged right where my body bends. The perfect storm of discomfort.
  20. You know the term exists outside of current politics, right? Just let it go bud. Thank you. I come here to get away from politics. This is one place where those opinions don't matter at all. Am I the only person that really dislikes Skyrush? Those restraints are so incredibly uncomfortable. Worse than the GCI Staple-flyer lapbars.
  21. I haven't ridden any RMC rides yet, but based on this group mentioned together, I'd say we are reading very different books.
  22. And the best picture award goes to La La Land! oh, wait a minute Moonlight! Steve Harvey is probably enjoying this immensely.
  23. When there's very short lines, Dragster ranks much higher for me. But I don't like waiting very long to ride it.
