It's a great angle of the first hill. I would have preferred a Dback vantage point, but I will do fine with this until the Mean Streak camera is up. -

It'll be in great condition until they run the bulldozers through there. You know, like any responsible property owner... -

I made plans to go for the Last Rites rides. I used to go almost every Halloweekends Friday. -

This person gets it!!! Glad you had such a good time, and thanks for the TR! You are welcome for the TR and I guess you somewhat agree with my assessments?? You may have missed that I did find Magnum to be a much better ride later in the evening. It doesn't really make my top 5 or 10 but it was one of the better ones in the park because it didn't beat me up. Now I admit it's been a while since I've been to 6FMM (back in 2013) but I do think I enjoyed X2 more than Gatekeeper here but they were both great rides. As I think I mentioned, my top list overall includes Apollo's Chariot and Griffon at BGW, Kinga Ka and El Toro at 6FGA, Cheetah Hunt at BGT and X2. We also love I305 at KD and Banshee at KI but I do think we need to return to KI with the kids in the future to try the coasters there again. We did ride Beast but only once and I think we need to give it another chance. We had only one day there when we went so were getting through as many rides as we could in that one day. I did like the unique aspects of BGT new Cobra's Curse though, but it's not worth the long wait right now. I also must say we did get great airtime on Blue Streak and I would have loved to do that one again but we didn't get time. For a wooden coaster it didn't beat me up too bad. I wish I had enjoyed Maverick more but honestly even in the front the twists really whipped me back and forth too much for my liking. Millenium Force we could have done a few more times. We also need to get back to Carowinds now that the kids can do more coasters. We haven't done any of the big ones there yet. I'm curious, you rated Kingda Ka very highly but didn't ride Dragster? Was this by choice, or were you there after the cable break? -

I always had the idea that if you can enter the park until a certain time, you should have enough time to get to a ride before the line closes. -

That's why my first inclusion was AR (Augmented Reality) which would include the surroundings and overlay different effects to "change the ride experience" in some way other than flashing lights in a tunnel between the brakes and the station. Also, with the amount they've been testing VR on rides, I could see this being the first designed with VR in mind. That doesn't automatically assume every rider in every seat will be using VR, simply that it may be available from day 1. -

I've been away from TPR for most of July. Have we discussed the possibilities of this ride being designed for AR/VR use full time? -

That's probably because neither of those companies have built in Ohio. Instead of being licensed under each state, contract someone who is. -

Thanks for posting those. Do you have a better picture of the Drilled Pier Summary? I can't tell if those coordinates are similar to the North Grade Beams coordinates. -

I could see it happening if the Rivertown expansion is bigger than we think. Otherwise I'm not convinced. There are good options for locating the new ride without removing the flume. -

Not sure what the tree removal near The Beast would be for, but I'm pretty sure the area behind Racer and Dinos is for the fireworks. -

Reprofiling can be more than just altering banking. They have 5400ft of track to work with, starting 160ft in the air. If they are simply constrained to keeping the relative X,Y location of the ride, there is still quite a bit they can do in the Z direction. -

Clearly you didn't ride in the front or lean forward. Seriously, people treat the thing like it's as rough as the Boss and more boring than a kiddie coaster. Mean Streak is fine. Nothing about it is so terrible that it deserves such a bad reputation. Corkscrew is way worse and it's at the same park. Mean Streak may not be a top ten woodie but it's actually really fun. Nothing to write home about but the thing gets ragged on way too much. If a coaster is only tolerable in one seat, in one position...that sir is a bad coaster. I really hope the RMC rumors are true, off with her head!! I would say it's fine in any seat, but good up front. Unfortunately, it's at a park where almost everything is good, so it probably seems worse than it is. Twister at Knoebels is very similar. It isn't close to Phoenix, and would be better received if it was compared to something that good. I would prefer to have GCI/GG reprofile the ride and eliminate the trims, over having RMC convert it into another looping sit-down coaster. Let RMC build something original instead. -

I completely forgot about the double drop is how, but if the train crests the second hill at 21mph, then it wasn't even going that fast when it crested the launch hill, assuming that the second is lower than the first (and I believe that's the case). I'm pretty certain the hills are designed so that if the launch fails and the ride crawls over the first crest, it will have enough speed the complete the course. -

Welcome to TPR. I don't see why they wouldn't want a new wooden coaster. They two they have are ~40 years old. Also, Cedar Point has the big steel coasters, and KI just built Banshee. Meanwhile, Holiday World has some world-class wooden coasters, and is close enough for visitors in the area to make comparisons. I can almost guarantee they pay attention to what Holiday World does from a business perspective. It's good to know your competition.
