  1. After some program fixes, the one at VF is in pretty decent shape. I wonder if they gave KBF the same adjustments? They really helped us go from faulting at least one a day to once a week at most.
  2. I adore Gemini. It's definitely one of my faves at CP, because even thought it's not that intense, there's just something about racing coasters that is fun and thrilling.
  3. A "session"? Ok. I've never even heard of half the things he mentions.
  4. It is adorable... I want to hug it.
  5. Exactly. I'm not saying that they are going to remove it, merely observing that it was done at VF, and might possibly be trend CP may follow. Correct me if I'm wrong, but there isn't much room left on that island, people.
  6. Valleyfair removed their Challenge park two years ago, removing the go karts and the minigolf. Ripcord is still an up charge attraction, and the old snack stand is now an unofficial break area/mainly storage. I could easily see a path right when you get through the Soak City entrance that would keep Ripcord open but also open up space for some flat rides possibly.
  7. Fair enough, I'm just very curious as to if this park will include actual theme park rides such as coasters/dark rides or if it will go for more theater simulator/4D stuff. That's what I'm wondering too. Can't wait to see where this goes!
  8. It would be awesome if they could own that land, but alas, Mother Nature must be preserved.
  9. No, VF does own all of the land in the field of dreams, all the way to the dorms. Here's the GIS info. The area directly to the right/in the orange is the wildlife reserve.
  10. I think they would connect it using the pathway/smoking area, instead of taking out Ripcord. I haven't heard anything against Ripcord being there or how well it does, so it probs isn't going anywhere. I wonder, if they ever were to use the field of dreams and the park floods like two years ago, if they would just go straight to Canterbury parking.
  11. To end this argument of the WOWness of Renegade, this recently tweeted pic confirms it as a "Another Great Coaster." (shush, I know it's a pun.)
  12. Can confirm, we are spoiled.
  13. Last season they posted the schedule in early February. If it helps, Valleyfair is typically open daily from Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day (park opens at 10 am every day), although they might be closed for a private event on the first or second Sunday of June. If I remember correctly, opening weekend is the 13th to 15th? Could be off by one too soon.
  14. Imagine two whole years there, ugh that was an adventure. Supercat was monotonous, Bumps was dirty and spared no shoes, and I always told people to expect Riptide to break down at least once a day, if not more. There were probably more evacs off Riptide than the rest of the coasters combined. Good lord. As a 2016 ride attendant applicant, I pray I'm not put at superbumpertide Even from a guy who's been in park services two seasons that even sounds bad I only had one attendant, and they could only do one position, so don't worry too much.
  15. I believe it is one big block of jobs, but you have to be 18 to work High Roller. If they don't have enough ride attendants then they get state permission to let 16 year olds do Planet Snoopy rides - basically all of which have the same extremely easy dispatch system. Nope, it's divided into three sections, Saturn (red baron to balloons iirc) Jupiter (teacups, high roller to swing set), and Callisto (rocket to playhouse). The only single op rides that attendant can work are moon bounce and playhouse. Attendants can't operate a main control position, so anything with buttons. It's why sometimes they combine and switch between rides when they don't have enough ops. Jupiter and Callisto are one area, and Ssturn is grouped with MM and wild thing in an area.

  17. Excited to be leaving SuperBumperTide? You have no idea. Let's hope my new baby is a little less temperamental.
  18. Ngl, you should be a ride attendant at 16, since it's better pay. Maybe a rides bias a little here....
  19. Getting hyped for the next season already. I'll be single leading Mad Mouse/Wheel of Fortune! Can't wait to try out the new panel and fully learn a coaster. Stop by next year and ride with me and my team!
  20. I was actually wondering this myself. Ever done pull-ups? You're talking to a bunch of coaster enthusiasts here. The closest I have ever come to a pull up, is pulling down an over the shoulder restraint. Ride Oping and riding rides is a good workout. Especially when you have to try and get a restrain with a big person to register. A couple of years ago at VF someone actually got up on the fence to try and push down someone's restrain on PowTow. Yeah, that changed fast.
  21. There is none. Will be none until this coming summer, if anything and if there is even going to be one.
  22. Not just this thread, since this has nothing to do with VF. Unless we're still discussing the whole thing about weird advertising.
  23. My favorite part of this project so far is the model in the fountain out front. At least, favorite next to the actual coaster itself. So wait a second. It's breaking the 500ft threshold. Any idea what this new category is gonna be called?
  24. No, 2 operators is best. 1 for getting people in the ride area and one to check restraints. Scrambler with one operator is painfully slow, and I would imagine this would be the same. Two operators is best for most typical single op rides. I'm thinking supercat, scrambler, bumper cars, and other more popular rides. The effect may be small, but it's ten times less stressful. However, I wouldn't be surprised if it gets down to 1 op.
  25. Oh, and here is Universal. "Ignoring the community" Yeah, because a whole community saying they want it is going against what the community wants. Edit: Bless the person who got up to say this.
