  1. Are there any rides besides Power Tower that that rule applies to? Obviously with a coaster there are always going to be parts of the ride that you can't see even without fog, hell even on rides like antique cars there are parts of the ride that the operators can't see (aka the places everyone stops and slams into eachother which is the only reason those dumb rides exist), it seems sort of inconsistent to me but then again, it's a Cedar Fair weather policy. What's the logic behind that? I think it's more aptly summarized as "if you can't see the whole station, you can't operate your ride." Since the whole platform is the station at PT, if you can't see the base of the tower you can't operate. At rollercoasters where you never see the rest of the track, if you can't see the end of the train in the station you can't operate. I'm not aware of any times where Renegade or Wild Thing have had to go down due to fog, but I'm sure it's gotten close plenty of times.
  2. If it's really gone forever, I wonder what they're gonna do with the ambulance?
  3. Are we seriously so sensitive as a society that we can't realize what is fantasy and suspended disbelief? I'd like to think not, but apparently so. I'm more wary of the Bite The Dust skeleton key room being insensitive than I am for Asylum.
  4. I'm not sure how busy it gets on Haunt nights, so it might not be historically busy enough to justify keeping it open. We are also getting to the time of the season where the cold weather can cause rides to close as well.
  5. YES. It's fun to watch the webcam as they continue to put in forms for the base.
  6. NOT PHOTOSHOPPED While the CP thread gets in a tizzy over a RMC crane, we can get in a tizzy over a RMC excavator!
  7. I'd honestly prefer the current webcam because then I don't have to giant spiders crawling across the screen in 30fps, like what happened last year when I was watching the webcam for a bit.
  8. If anything, the London Terror fire pushes back plans to build new haunt attractions because a new one has to be built in it's place. While there isn't the cost associated with actually building a building this year, there still are other changes I'm sure they're making this year instead to other mazes. This is assuming that there were plans to actually do a permanent haunt structure this year. Who knows now though.
  9. As an FYI for all of those visiting for VR Iron Dragon, if the ride goes down mechanical or for weather, your ride time is not honored and you do not get to ride if your time happens during the down time. The storm that rolled through this evening caused the ride to not even start prep until like 7:15, and they decided that anyone with a time that had passed would not get to ride. Thankfully, I'm pretty sure it was down mechanical till 9 so no one got to ride, but my group was sorely disappointed by the management decision. A decent hunk of the park had cleared out and we had already wasted 2 hours waiting in both scorching sun and light rain to sign up and then wait to get on. At least we got to have a really pleasant conversation with the guest service supervisors, they were awesome.
  10. That's awfully optimistic. The Enterprise location will be used for a ride to be announced on the 18th. Anyone check out the Hersheypark announcement? I don't know if that 3rd tower is a double shot or a new idea, but if it's a new idea, what are the chances the two turbo drops here get converted into them with the blue becoming just a turbo drop? Does that make any sense to anyone or do I need to elaborate further? Blue is space shot, so there would have to be a LOT of work done to change it over to a turbo drop, i.e., changing pretty much everything. And I don't think the towers are large enough to handle rotating carts, but I could be wrong. I don't see them doing anything to Power Tower in the foreseeable future.
  11. I hear sometimes from various people that the height restriction is not park wide, but I don't know (don't really believe, either) if this is true or not. If it's not, then a Windseeker is not out of the question. There have been numerous rumors as to what is coming in next year, guess we'll find out next week. I've heard a few things in the park, but nothing new that hasn't already been posted here. BTW, whoever says that Riptide is gonna bite the dust next year can fight me. Nothing comes between me and my old delinquent child.
  12. Wow, they actually are. I can think of one person right off the top of my head that is going to buy this... *coughing* Renegade Mike *coughing*
  13. WHERE DID YOU HERE THAT GLORIOUS PIECE OF INFORMATION? IF IT'S TRUE, NO MORE GARBO DUTY FOR ME!!! Haha, yes indeed it is coming back as a department once again, although you have the day wrong. And no, this does not mean you are out of garbo duty. ALL OF THE GARBO FOR YOU
  14. While refurbing the Enterprise makes sense, I wonder what they would call they new Supercat, as this would make two refurbs in it's lifetime. I think it needs more of a winter-between-seasons refurb of the structure instead of a year long thing like what the Enterprise would probably get. Caterpillar > Supercat > Xtremecat????
  15. The associate area can't really be developed, since it contains the break area, maintenance buildings, parking, etc.
  16. I would be pleasantly surprised if Riptide was open this weekend. My bet is on no.
  17. Don't forget the "It's in fine print on the back of my pass, but I shouldn't need to read fine print in order to know the terms and conditions" Facebook peeps.
  18. "down for maintenance" Just like Thunderhawk was at WOF and Riptide at KBF? Considering who got the old gondola from KBF.... *cough* us *cough*.... Our riptide isn't going anywhere.
  19. Riptide is being removed? Ummmm, no it's not? It's down for maintenance right now.
  20. Are we actually looking at the new splash pad they installed last year? We don't need a giant bucket or play structure when we just got one. Ok, it's not giant like some people might want, but they wouldn't install two of the same style of water park attraction. Also, while the Bumper Cars spot does seem like a prime spot for something new, I would like to quibble slightly that all of the associates hate it. I actually quite enjoyed it, with the longer cycles and entertaining happenings. You've also got to make the most of cleaning it at night.
  21. Speaking of which, looks like PowTow got new awning covers for the red towers. They look awesome.
  22. ^That actually makes a lot of sense. Small body probs. I was in the front row, I should try out the back when I get a chance (or not).
  23. Really? I rode it today and thought they were kinda harsh on the legs, but not bad enough to give bruises. Where did you get the other two since it only touches in two places on the legs? Granted, I am more petite so bars usually give me less problems.
