  1. Enjoy the sweeping! And the radios... Radios are the best.
  2. I'm coming back, and can't wait to see you all coming to Rides! (Although park services will always hold a piece of my heart) Also can't wait to learn Renegade this year and see how Wild Thing has changed (if anything).
  3. Looks pretty cool! The text size is a little small for me in the header, but other than that it all looks really well balanced.
  4. Despite the horrendously inefficient operations, the operators were all dedicated and cheerful. It was interesting to see the mix between rides that were obviously down until there was warmer weather and those that I was surprised were still operating due to the cold and snow.
  5. I visited the park on the 11th. Fujiyama was down for "strong winds" but my sister and I agreed they were probably just low staffed and needed people to shovel snow. Took a pic from the Ferris wheel of the work going on for Dodonpa. It looks like they have new footers being formed. I couldn't tell you how the footers translate to track design though.
  6. It seems like Haunt is just the evening attractions/mazes, while Valleyscare is both the Great Pumpkin Fest and Haunt. Interesting to see the distinction, but it makes sense considering it's technically the Haunt at Valleyscare.
  7. I should specify I'm hoping to be a supervisor. You can fight me over park services being better, because we are.
  8. I'm hoping to come back in rides or park services. It'll be my fourth year as well!
  9. The top spin I ran only ever did one program on auto. The closest I got to running manual was watching maintenance grease it in the morning. I would have loved to do it myself.
  10. I have a love/hate relationship with Huss Suspended Top Spins. Assuming they run similar, this probably also extends to regular Top Spins. It was my first ride grouping, alongside a Caterpillar and Bumper Cars. I could see that thing faulting from a mile away, and it was hard to describe the gut feeling to new trainees when you just KNOW it's going to fault. Two experiences stand out to me at this ride: Throwing rubber ducks into the pool beneath the ride. Every couple of weeks a new one would show up in the control booth. I don't know if maintenance hated or liked it. A raccoon that had chewed through the nearby coaster's mic cable (effectively shutting the ride down), also decided to come wander by my ride. Because the platforms lower while the ride is in motion, this raccoon could have walked onto the platform full of guests stuff with ease. Oh boy, do you stop the ride? Let it go and hope the intrepid raccoon doesn't get closer? Thankfully, it wandered away and got caught later. My other faves to operate include Screamin' Swings (which is also my fave flat, ngl) and any kind of train ride. I used to love operating my park's Drop Tower, when you had to spiel to guests in the loading bull pens. But cutting a position now has the controls position spieling over the PA. They also now use those glowstick/hand lights at night to signal to the control booth which I think is hilarious.
  11. I love the rainbow and the stars, hope they use those. I don't think I could handle a giant barber shop pole/candy cane all summer long.
  12. If I remember correctly, they said it would take three years, so this will be year 2.
  13. Wasn't there some discussion at the announcement that North Star would be a 2016 expense, opening up the beginning of 2017 for spending? I think the Wild Thing reno by IOE might be filling that space in, along with the next part of the carousel reno.
  14. Teaching people to do the corner twist on the regular cans is easier than teaching people how to change Snoopy cans.
  15. THIS. Ever since they've taken off the stickers from the Snoopy cans, they've just kinda been really dull looking and I think they'd look better if they were the regular ones. Yeah, not to mention that they're a nightmare to change. Look like North Star got 2/3 of the way up at least today!
  16. It's easy to get to the station and stair trash cans, and up to the first tunnel. I usually hit up the tunnel cans in the morning or when the line dies so I don't have to shove through people with a huge bag full of trash and have it break somewhere in the middle of all of them. I'm curious, what's your record for the number of trash bags for one can? Excited to see North Star start to move! I'll be watching the webcam for sure over the next couple of days.
  17. Case in point, the three worst experiences with trash cans I've had were at the Wave, Renegade, and Power Tower.
  18. Oh god, please no more trash cans than necessary! Let's hope that the queue line is easy to understand and get into so that poor park service peeps don't avoid it and let it build up and get all gross. Ugh. Too many bad memories of too full trash cans. Ugh.
  19. If I'm counting right, it looks like there are 18 chairs for a total capacity of 36.
  20. Looks like all they need is the red structure on top. I though there would be one more section, but it's really hard to judge height from the webcam.
  21. See I don't mind screams of real terror. What gets me is fake screams and "I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die!" just to be dramatic. Get over yourself, we know it's scary.
  22. I'd love to see it come back, but I'm betting they're gonna raise the price. $70 seems like too much of a steal for an entire season.
  23. That's gonna be one wild railroad if we're gonna believe Tony and his previous tweet.
  24. Great Pumpkin fest ends at 6 (when the kid's rides close) and the monsters come out around 6:40ish, with mazes opening around 7 or when the monsters get back from the opening ceremony. If you are in the front of the park around 6:50, I recommend checking the opening ceremony out! Based on past experiences, this weekend is going to be very busy, so if you are considering skeleton key or fast/fright lane, I'd say go for it!
  25. Yeah, there have definitely been some close times at Corkscrew, from what my sister has told me.
