  1. ^Same same. I wonder if it's just maintenance running cycles or if they've handed it over to the ops to start comissioning (Raptor, I'm guessing Valravn isn't quite there yet. Correct me if I'm wrong).
  2. Well VF is getting bikers. I'm not sure if that's the short end of the stick or what. Maybe CP's biker's are leaving for VF to make way for...? I know what some of you would want to go into VF's new amphitheater, though.
  3. The open houses, or preview day, used to be only for associates but starting last year they changed it to inviting season pass holders. The main rides are open, allowing associates to practice with actual people before the park opens. Some food locations and shops are open too.
  4. *sigh* darn. I wonder how these stations will work.
  5. *Stops reading, slams own head thru office desk* For a company trying to iron out the differences between each park, it just wouldn't surprise me.
  6. Not sure. But, Cedar Point has them, so it wouldn't be surprising if we got them too. Granted, their map last year specifically has them labeled as freestyle machines. I guess we'll find out soon.
  7. Hoorah for Coca Cola Freestyle! Love those machines.
  8. It's good to be back in the park! It's looking really nice!
  9. Holy crap. I thought snapping was something semi-lame. That is intense. I'm thinking that it won't be allowed to such an extent that the car hits the ground, since the maintenance guys would probably hate that, and I'd be freaked out of my mind as an operator if I didn't know what this was.
  10. Us poor minnesotans take what we can get.
  11. Not yet. I am asking this weekend during leadership training. I'm curious myself since Knott's removed theirs, and of course, Riptide is my precious piece-of-shirt baby. We've been through a lot together.
  12. That was the selection. I remember two years ago when it was just Route 76, and didn't rotate between the front areas. Ugh, coming in to do bathrooms or open early? How about neither.
  13. ^Also the other side of the park (Riptide thru Wild Thing), and it rotated each month between the three
  14. Yes you can. It's pretty much the same technology as Soarin'. This was just as good as Disney if not better, in both my families and my own opinion. Granted, you don't get the Disney atmosphere, and I could do without the cheese fest that is the safety video. But eh, if you don't like the mall atmosphere I can understand.
  15. Thank god. I don't have to come in half an hour early.
  16. It looks like they can control which bays are in motion during each flight. Rode it with my family again and noticed that only our two rows were out. They were very accommodating with a wheelchair, which is nice to see.
  17. Thx. Internet sarcasm is one of my weaknesses.
  18. You don't need to pay for that. Just time it right for when they are giving out free samples and feast on all the cheeses.
  19. I have no idea what you are trying to say there.
  20. No, I looked around and no one was doing any surveys. And here I was hoping to get one of those free flight vouchers. Darn. It was actually the right preflight video! It's a cheesy as the Canada one is, I'm assuming. There's a guy strumming a guitar at the entrance of the ride when this family walks up, then a country singing band on the inside (the singer had this really distracting mole thing on her cheek), and a really terrible rap/pop number. I literally have no idea what to call it. There was dancing on the stairs. It was interesting, to say the least.
  21. I went today! Saw you there in this thread, VFGirl, and decided to try my luck. Guess I didn't have to worry much since it said they were open 10-10. Are they like actually officially open now? Or is it still a soft open? The preflight movie was a little cheesy, and I didn't realize I everyone needed to put on a belt. This was unclear to me, being an op. The spots reminded me a lot of Power Tower loading. The start was the best part, with the moving walls and fence and the feeling of being swung forward in pitch black. I didn't realize there were smells, but they were a nice added touch. The mist was well done. My one critique is that I think the motions could have been a little more exaggerated at a few point. I think there were some times where the motion wasn't that believable, which is usually when I would refocus on the theater and fake feat being projected next to me and lose the cool-factor of feeling like flight.
  22. I find it funny that even though this conversation ended mutually and respectfully, you have to bring to life a dead corpse. You are acting like some giant war is taking place. Meanwhile, BuffaloWingRider and I are laughing at your attempt to start drama again. . Whenever any of us ends a discussion on this thread, someone always has to rile it up again.
  23. HOW DARE YOU TALK BOUT MY BABY LIKE DAT! THAT'S IT WE BAN YOU FROM POWTOW ISLAND. GET YOUR BUTT AS FAR AWAY FROM OUR TOWERS AS POSSIBLE. Or how about we send all PowTow haters up for a night watch on top of the tower. Only way to go up and down is the way maintenance does it: on top of the carts.
  24. You know what, we obviously have different opinions about VF, so I'm not even going to bother arguing semantics and all that fun stuff with you anymore. Back to my regularly scheduled looking forward to the beginning of the season.
