1. El Toro (of course) 2. Bizarro 3. Nitro 4. KDK Front Row 5. Tea Cups 6. Blackbeard 7. Superman 8. Zumanjaro 9. Runaway Mine Train 10. Swashbuckler ** Edit: Ugghhhh how did I forget BTR. I'll put it right above Tea Cups, bonus points for BTR Backwards (RIP). I guess Swashbuckler gets bumped down to 11, but it's still one of those rides I ride every time I'm at the park. I'm a sucker for the old classic flats.

There's not a chance in hell they meant "Great Nor'Easter" and not "Great White". -

This almost exactly mirrors my own experience. Early entry is a wonderful thing, take full advantage of it if you're staying on-site. Laff Trakk is a fun one-and-done for the most part, and the funhouse mirrors in the queue are a nice touch to pass the time. Due to the limited capacity of the trains the Fahrenheit line fills up fast and is slow-moving; I'd definitely recommend trying to take care of that one as early in the day as possible. -

Just popping in to offer thanks to everyone posting about FL+ / Platinum / etc right now -- I'm in the process of planning out a mid-May trip to Ohio to hit both Cedar Point and Kings Island for the first time, and all this information is coming in very handy! -
What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?
coneyislandchris replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Nitro was the last coaster of the 2015 operating season; and also the first coaster of 2016. Yay! -
You're clearly a better man than us... we were C-O-L-D. But, thankfully, it gave my friends and I possibly my favorite ride photo ever. Ladies and gentlemen, I call the first meeting of Coaster Grumps Anonymous to order: I'm not gonna do a HUGE recap this time because Boldy already got most of the major points down (sorry I didn't run into you!). Got there at 1:05 PM with four friends. Four of us are big coaster junkies, and one is slightly afraid of most of them, so she ended up sitting out all the major ones. Did 3x Nitro to start the day, then Batman 1x, TDK 1x, swung over to Supes 1x (longest wait of the day; 4 train wait for the back row because forget all those other rows). We were all stupid, stupid men and got Green Lantern out of the way for the year, then walked bow legged back to the boardwalk and grabbed lunch at Garden State Grill. (Tip: do NOT get the "cucumber salad" substitution for fries, unless you want a container of Italian dressing with a few random cukes & tomatoes floating around in it. Disgusting.) Then after eating, it was flat ride time. Did the tea cups. Skipped Houdini because the line looked stupid long and it's not really worth the wait. Buccaneer was a walk on, then did Swashbuckler. Jolly Roger we had all to ourselves thanks to no lighting back there and people forgetting it exists, but honestly I'd rather have a proper Musik Express again. Then all five of us took Skull Mountain together. I ended up in the front seat of the last car all by myself and FINALLY got to experience that first drop airtime I've heard so much about! It DOES exist! :o By this point, it was quarter to 6 and starting to get really, really, REALLY goddamned cold. We decided to call it after rerides on Batman and Nitro. Three of us hit up Batman and it was STILL a walk-on in the back row! Got back to the station and no one was waiting in our row, so screw it, let's go again! Then the row in front of us cleared out, so we bounced up a spot for our third ride in a row. Amazeballs. Then the four of us headed back over to Nitro for the final ride of the night, also in the last row which had opened up. Nitro in the dark is the best. Snagged an additional ride when the row in front of us was clear to finish off the night. One last stop to the Daily Planet gift shop to pick up a Flash keyring for my 4-year-old, then hit the road back to NY at 7:00 with the car's glorious, life-saving heat cranked all the way up. Good times.

What is your next park?

Planning on hitting up Six Flags Great Adventure on New Year's Day, and marathoning Nitro as much as possible. Because, really, I can't think of a better way to ring in the new year. -
No, I remember. I was there with the family two weekends back, picking up our dining passes. Yes, it got colder as the night went on, but it was in the high 50s-low 60s earlier in the day. I wouldn't have called it "slammed" on the magnitude of this past weekend, either, but still significantly attended, sure. With that being said, the high all weekend isn't forecasted to get above 45 degrees. I have to agree that I wonder if the crowds will continue to come out when temps are as low.

Want to be riding a coaster as the clock strikes midnight to ring in the new year? You can do that this year at Luna Park, weather permitting: Full story and details here: http://brooklyn-usa.org/bp-adams-announces-2015-one-brooklyn-new-years-eve-celebration-with-fireworks-and-family-friendly-festivities-in-coney-island-and-prospect-park/

I can't remember the exact date in the 90's, so it was either Alpengeist or Great Bear. -

If you have a smart phone on you at the park, download the official app. Their in-app map is AMAZING. Who needs paper? -
