  1. A couple new photos appeared on the construction blog this morning! Looks like we have the beginnings of a lift hill!
  2. For what it's worth, I never rode it with the old restraints, so I don't have a good frame of reference as to what it "could" be like. That being said, the existing way that the restraints are didn't bother me at all, and this is coming from someone who a) rode it 10 consecutive times in a row this past season and b) isn't exactly a small guy. Shame it's turning out to just be a repaint and retheme, but I don't think it's going to lessen my enjoyment of the ride in the slightest.
  3. It's not the size of the RMC, it's what you do with it.
  4. One ticket aboard the hype train, please. Flying Dinosaur looks absolutely phenomenal! Will DEFINITELY have to block out a day here if I ever make it out to Japan in the coming years.
  5. Guess I'm eating my hat. Can somebody pass the mustard, please?
  6. SFNE announced they'll be having an ERT for season pass holders on Saturday, April 23rd... ...on Flashback. Details: https://www.sixflags.com/newengland/special-events/celebration/flashback-exclusive-ride-time
  7. Let's see... five rides on the Cyclone for $35? Yeah, I'm in. Oh, it's good for other rides, too? Heh. That's cute.
  8. I hadn't seen Phil's site before. Wonderful aerial photos! Definitely looks as if construction is moving along rapidly (and if those were taken over the weekend, might be further ahead than the construction blog is letting on). Thanks for sharing Michael
  9. Hopefully some new photos from the construction blog can tide you over in the meantime then!
  10. Really awesome photos! I especially love seeing a happy Vincent Price riding. Great finds!
  11. Welcome aboard, Ray! Good to see some more local faces here on the board. Thanks for posting the batch of photos!
  12. ^ Looking sweet! Can't wait to ride it! Think there's any chance that this may be ready for Spring Break opening?
  13. Wow, it's like you condensed the past hundred pages of this thread into a single post. Well done!
  14. Or Battle for Metropolis. If either of these ideas come to fruition, I am 100% SOLD!
  15. As of right now, the Six Flags Gold Season Pass and Gold Dining Pass (those flash sales they ran got me). Three season passes, two dining passes. Also most likely going to pick up a pair of Cedar Fair Platinum Passes in advance of my spring road trip (planning on hitting Dorney, KI and CP over a four day weekend). Close enough to Dorney that I may get some added value out of them.
  16. I had a sneaking suspicion! I'll just be happy if I can get on it this year. When I was there last year, the only coasters I hit were Flitzer and Doo-Wopper since it was just me and my 4-year-old, and he didn't quite reach the height requirement for Rollies Coaster. With any luck, he'll hit a growth spurt this year and be able to make it onto Great White (oh yeah... and El Toro!).
  17. I personally loved the purple, but I agree that the red looks fantastic, especially in the snowy weather. Can't wait to get back up there this Spring to check it out!
  18. From the passholder newsletter they just sent out, it appears the track is on the construction site. "Crews have completed the groundwork along Lakefront and the foundation for the new ride is finished. We've also received all of the two-tone purple and green pieces of track that will soon be crafted together to create a smooth and unique ride experience." Supposedly there will be more photos and updates at https://www.sixflags.com/greatadventure/attractions/new-2016/construction -- but at the current moment, all I'm getting is an "Access denied" page when I click on the link. Oh well! Bookmark it for future reference. Edit: I *am* happy the park is getting a big new ride! The only complaint that I do have about it is a common one in regards to Six Flags parks, and that's the fact that they're reusing the same name for different rides. It just gets annoying constantly having to qualify which one you're talking about. "Yeah, I rode the Joker last weekend. No, not the RMC, the Batman: The Ride clone. No, that OTHER Batman: The Ride that's not like any of the other ones. And next week I'm going to hit up Goliath..." But honestly, it's a minor price to pay for having easy access to awesome rides, and it's not going to change the actual ride experience any, so no harm done!
  19. Because of COURSE it is. Do like that green and purple track, though!
  20. I really needed this video. Thanks for sharing.
  21. Bookmarking this thread for future reference
  22. Thinking about hopping a flight out to the West Coast for a Saturday in either late February or early March. Aside from Rev being down while they do the improvements, can I expect anything else to be closed for the season? What are lines like at this time of the year? Thanks in advance!
  23. Can double confirm. This is pretty much the case because a lot of adults ride this with their younger kids, like me, and I think there aren't many that come close in size to each other.
  24. The city is continuing to make steps to seize the land that housed the old Thunderbolt and is currently a vacant lot next to the new Zamperla Thunderbolt; opponents have 30 days to issue challenges and if all proceeds as planned, the land will be in the city's hands within a year. http://nypost.com/2016/01/14/city-moving-ahead-with-plans-to-seize-coney-island-property/
