For what it's worth, I never rode it with the old restraints, so I don't have a good frame of reference as to what it "could" be like. That being said, the existing way that the restraints are didn't bother me at all, and this is coming from someone who a) rode it 10 consecutive times in a row this past season and b) isn't exactly a small guy. Shame it's turning out to just be a repaint and retheme, but I don't think it's going to lessen my enjoyment of the ride in the slightest.

As of right now, the Six Flags Gold Season Pass and Gold Dining Pass (those flash sales they ran got me). Three season passes, two dining passes. Also most likely going to pick up a pair of Cedar Fair Platinum Passes in advance of my spring road trip (planning on hitting Dorney, KI and CP over a four day weekend). Close enough to Dorney that I may get some added value out of them. -

I had a sneaking suspicion! I'll just be happy if I can get on it this year. When I was there last year, the only coasters I hit were Flitzer and Doo-Wopper since it was just me and my 4-year-old, and he didn't quite reach the height requirement for Rollies Coaster. With any luck, he'll hit a growth spurt this year and be able to make it onto Great White (oh yeah... and El Toro!). -
From the passholder newsletter they just sent out, it appears the track is on the construction site. "Crews have completed the groundwork along Lakefront and the foundation for the new ride is finished. We've also received all of the two-tone purple and green pieces of track that will soon be crafted together to create a smooth and unique ride experience." Supposedly there will be more photos and updates at https://www.sixflags.com/greatadventure/attractions/new-2016/construction -- but at the current moment, all I'm getting is an "Access denied" page when I click on the link. Oh well! Bookmark it for future reference. Edit: I *am* happy the park is getting a big new ride! The only complaint that I do have about it is a common one in regards to Six Flags parks, and that's the fact that they're reusing the same name for different rides. It just gets annoying constantly having to qualify which one you're talking about. "Yeah, I rode the Joker last weekend. No, not the RMC, the Batman: The Ride clone. No, that OTHER Batman: The Ride that's not like any of the other ones. And next week I'm going to hit up Goliath..." But honestly, it's a minor price to pay for having easy access to awesome rides, and it's not going to change the actual ride experience any, so no harm done!

The city is continuing to make steps to seize the land that housed the old Thunderbolt and is currently a vacant lot next to the new Zamperla Thunderbolt; opponents have 30 days to issue challenges and if all proceeds as planned, the land will be in the city's hands within a year. http://nypost.com/2016/01/14/city-moving-ahead-with-plans-to-seize-coney-island-property/
