Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

Plot twist! It's a B&M Dive Coaster named Centurion! Maybe Tony specifically made them take the name out as Cedar Point to confuse us. Valran will go to another park and then Centurion from Carowinds(wait right?) actually goes to CP. -
Worst Coaster Ever?

Mighty Canadian BackBuster at CW. That ride hurt more than any seat on Wolverine Wildcat at MiA. It was pretty bad. It made Mean Streak look smooth. Then again Sky Rider was pretty uncomfortable too. I rode it right before they removed it. I would have to say it's a runner up. -

These next 15 days may be the most tense days of the year. If its a dive coaster I will be beyond happy, a dark ride, its OK just not something insanely special. Wonder Mountain Guardian is not a people gobbler at all, while a B&M dive coaster may not have a capacity as large as Raptor or Rougarou, im pretty sure it is larger than a dark ride. Actually does anyone have a capacity number for really any dive machine? Just wondering. -

... August 18 was Leviathan's announcement date. So it's a stand up B and M giga? Gotta replace mantis somehow. But I think it could be Valran, maybe the picture isn't spoiling the ride theme. Maybe it's spoiling something else. -

When is the funeral? And will you be buried with mantis? -

My fathers name for a stand up coaster is the bad idea, this seems to fit the criteria as well. -

I believe it would be the rain as every day we've gone there was rain in the forecast at least in the morning. Every time I check CP has been getting rain too. They ended up being beautiful days but the park was pretty empty. More Maverick for me! -

Who needs a new coaster when you have ST? (I kid of course, but that ride is amazing) Anyway I feel Valley Fair really is in the same position as MiA at the moment, CF sees no reason to invest in coasters as long as the park is turning a rather good profit without it. Kinda sad. But a good business model, and one that really could have saved Gueaga Lake. They added coasters too fast and had too many for their crowd level. -
What is your next park?

Probably Michigan's Adventure but possible Canada's Wonderland. Depends on when I go to Canada. -

What about Gate Keeper? What if this whole time its just a modification for Pipe Scream that makes it floorless. Then floorless Millenium Force. Then floorless Maverick. Everything will be floorless! -

My head split both ways as being a hint and not being one. My mind is so hyped right now though that all I can think is that it is one... -
Last time I went it may have seemed more rough because I kept getting stuck on the same row in the green train. For some reason going up the second hill it violently bounced between the up stop wheels and the running wheels. I have no clue why it was only that seat and that train, all other seats I agree with though! (IMO Row 3 green train not FTW)

I'd be down. Although, too many rides on anything in that park can't be good for the central nervous system... I've riden ST 20 times in one day. It wasn't too bad, but that was few seasons ago when the hills were smooth, just the turnaround and helix were rough. It's seems MiA has been retracking it the last view years and they seem keen to retrack the whole thing. Do you think a topper track would have been worth it? Or GCI retracking is good enough?

Not normally, I think one op just didn't believe I had a strap. You should be fine. -

Yeah normally they just ask me if I have a strap, this guy even after he knew was like: "Glasses-Off!". -

Last time I was at Cedar Point they said all hats and glasses should be removed. I have a strap for my glasses and wore them on it earlier, the same op told me it didn't matter and I had to take them off the second time I rode. Any reason? I've never been told this on any other ride. (Later in the day the same op didn't care so I don't know what happened) -

True, one thing is for sure, CF can fix a chain faster than Six Flags! (Sorry for any hard feelings) -

I thought the same, but someone else earlier brought up that dive machines have very little head banging to begin with. -
Yesterday's crowd wasn't horrible especially since it was very hot. By 2:00 there was no-to-very short lines every in the park, the water park was fairly crowded though. Still nothing like a Friday or Weekend. Filled up a little less than half of the main Parking Lot. I didn't quite get that one. Sadly I forgot my DSLR and I didn't manage to get a picture of the whole building, I do however have a picture of people working on it, in a poor digitally zoomed in quality. Between the water tower and the wave pool building, I see workers! No flags (as far as I could see) the back area really is densely wooded and I could see some groomed land behind, that was all I could make out. Also somone in my group said the farm is a pumpkin farm. Halloween event? I did some construction equipment in the employee parking lot but I believe they are owned by the park. Between the water tower and the wave pool building, I see workers! So now Mini photo TR (More like Random Pictures of everything) Between the water tower and the wave pool building, I see workers! Between the water tower and the wave pool building, I see workers! You can't hide the beast inside. Such a pretty lift hill! We are on a log flume! Arrow coaster. Oh no the head banging of it all! Nothing here, this says nothing about the back nine though. Pretty good day to go! Lots of sun. More wolverine! SLC in all of it's greatness, it really isn't that bad of a SLC. Water roulette "Two parks for the price of one" Arcade building? Or future dark ride/restaurant? Retracked helix! Up charge, as always. SLC next to a Dinn Woodie. Nice placement. Wolverine row 8 FTW. For all you flat ride fans, this one still has a hitch! Retracked helix plus pretty life hill (Row 3 rides on up stop wheels up it) Now hiring: conveyer belt! Splash! Mad Mouse was closed when we first got there, they were testing it when I took this. RIP Falling Star. Dinn vs CCI, who wins? I think these are owned by the park.
