Or, maybe the spinning basketball that was in every picture/video is there because.... well you know, that's kind of what the Harlem Globetrotters do!! I think you're looking way to far into this. Just because there's a spinning basketball doesn't instantly mean the park is getting a new MACK spinning coaster. I said nothing about Mack. I don't even want a spinning coaster, so I wouldn't be disappointed if my speculation is wrong, which it probably is.

I was the one who suggested most of those things, which were almost all meant to be taken as a jokes that I would actually love to see happen (except for summer fireworks, I really don't care about those). And I still think the spinning of the basketball in EVERY picture/video they posted is a clue pointing towards the rumored spinning coaster for 2018. It's not to early for them to start teasing for that considering how huge it supposedly is going to be. However, if you were to check the 2018 project discussion thread on SDCFans, you would've seen speculation that it had to do with trick shots.

I saw that. -
Do anyone see this video posted to social media by SDC? I find it interesting that they only show the trees past WF at the end of the video? Could this be resort or moving of White Water like has been speculated before? They wouldn't be posting videos in early July 2016 for a coaster opening in March of 2018 would they? That would have to be a very vague video and they say it's going to be BIG.

Thanks for sharing this! I either read about this process, or someone told me about it in the park, and wondered if it was true. What lowered it? I noticed there was a cable running parallel to the lift hill and wondered if that was part of it? It appeared to be the chain itself only in reverse. You would think if they could get the chain going backwards they could just make it go normally instead. EDIT: someone can delete one of these posts, didn't mean to do it twice. -

He doesn't clog up SDCFans. We have seen that when he doesn't talk on that site, speculation is nearly nonexistent. I don't know if I would do Powder Keg first, it rarely opens up on time. We almost always ride Thunderation first, when there isn't a line because TNT can get pretty long waits at some points in the day. American Plunge and Lost River of the Ozarks will probably always have long lines, so you might want to ride those soon after they open at eleven. But, being a Thursday tomorrow, crowds should be light I would think.

Magnum and Gatekeeper were both walk-one the whole time we were there June 15-17. We also never had to wait for Rougarou, Raptor, Blue Streak, Mean Streak, Gemini, Cedar Creek Mine Ride, Wicked Twister, or Corkscrew. Longest wait we had was Valravn, which was 30 minutes the first time and 40 minutes the second. We walked in on Millenium and Dragster once each and other times were about 15 minute waits. Maverick was about 15-25 minute waits when we rode it and we waited about 15 minutes for Iron Dragon (which wouldn't be worth it if it wasn't for the part after the second lift). -
I have noticed that so far this season the park has seemed pretty slow. We have not really needed our season trailblazer passes except for the water rides. However, it is still early in the season for this part of the country. I'd expect for the park to start picking up within the next couple of weeks. (Based on what we have experienced during previous seasons.) During July is when we have waited 2-3 hours for Outlaw Run. Wildfire, Powderkeg, Fire In The Hole, and Giant Barn Swing have all had lines spilling out of the ques during July/Early August. And Christmas is usually the busiest time, but less people want to ride the rides and more want to see the shows.

I'm going to disagree with this. I just got back from this drive. We did it all in one day. we left around 7:00 A.M. and got to Sandusky area at around 8:45 P.M. Eastern. It can be done. Leave early and assume it'll take you all day. It's a pretty easy drive (Essentially 1 road through Wisconsin, 1 road through Indiana/Ohio, but there is the disaster that is Chicago). As long as you can get through Chicago during a non-rush hour time, it works out pretty well. Also, for the bag check/security thing, it takes no time at all. we used the marina entrance, and they actually wanded us and checked people's bags while we were waiting for the park to open (They went through the line, instead of you needing to stand in a line to go to them). I would still recommend getting to the park around 8:30, and walking over to the Marina entrance. Agreed. Last week we did the trip from Cedar Point to Sioux Falls, SD, which is farther than the Twin Cities. We left CP around 8:45 eastern and arrived in Sioux Falls around 10 pm CT. That's a very easy drive it's all I-80 for 12 hours, which practically bypasses Chicago completely, and then I-29 for about two hours. To relate this back to VF, yes, it is very possible to drive from VF to CP in one day.

I'm kind of surprised that CP doesn't have a GCI coaster already and that they haven't done a wooden coaster since 1991. I also agree that it would be better for GCI to do this project considering RMC would probably convert it to a steel coaster, leaving only one wooden coaster in the park. Or, they could add a GCI coaster and let RMC do Mean Streak. That would be awesome. I don't really need RMC to build an original at CP, I already have Outlaw Run . -

I love the first half of Magnum but by the time the bunny hops come my lap bar is always to tight and it becomes very uncomfortable to be pushed into the lap bar at the top of every hill. Being around 6'3" tall, there are a few rides that most find comfortable and smooth that I don't. Good tip if the airtime on the return trip hurts: the second row of the first car with your seatbelt as tight as you can possibly get it. I found my ride way more comfortable that way although both laps were fun. I mean I wasn't surprised that it was rough. I rode in the back row for two of the three rides that I took on Magnum. -

Clearly you didn't ride in the front or lean forward. Seriously, people treat the thing like it's as rough as the Boss and more boring than a kiddie coaster. Mean Streak is fine. Nothing about it is so terrible that it deserves such a bad reputation. Corkscrew is way worse and it's at the same park. Mean Streak may not be a top ten woodie but it's actually really fun. Nothing to write home about but the thing gets ragged on way too much. I do agree that Corkscrew is worse than Mean Streak. I've definitely been on worse wooden coasters, like Timber Wolf at WoF. Even the ride I had on Blue Streak on Thursday was almost as rough as Mean Streak. When we were at the park last week we did the FunPix deal for a day and I definitely think that is worth it. I like how they put special borders on every picture especially the Valravn ones. It's cool how you can see the whole train. -
Smoothest Coaster You've Ridden?
MidwestThemeParks replied to TheDark8's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I was thinking the other way around! I know not many people here will agree with me, but I felt like Raptor was by far the roughest B&M I've been on. (I've been on Wildfire (SDC), Patriot (WoF), Valravn, Gatekeeper, Rougarou, and Raptor) I guess it's also the oldest out of those six. -
