  1. Only if you are staying overnight and doing BGW the next day. BGW is worth the 7hr drive. KD is not (by itself)
  2. No. We are talking about a waterfortress like what was added to Carowinds this year or like Paradise Falls at Oceans of Fun
  3. So do we have a clue what's going on in Bicentennial Square? My best guess is that the arcade will be moved here and then the current arcade building will be where our dark ride goes. If they have to raise the building so be it, just please make the facade resemble the rest of the architecture of the area. I would wager Condor goes where Thunderhawk was and Trokia goes where Crazy Cars building is now.
  4. Sounds like both VF and WOF will get dark rides next year.
  5. If they're going to do another Soak City they are going to have to do a lot more than just another slide tower. I agree moving the entrance to maximize land is a must. I think a new waterfortress needs go where the older splash pad/kiddie lazy river is currently has to be a high priority. A hybrid large raft slide needs to go where LSS is currently. A racer slide can go where the current entrance path is. That would be a good start at least. Capacity is what is most needed right now - well that and more space but that's what you get for not building the waterpark up front where Challenge Park was.
  6. TAER IT DOWN! No seriously get it open as it is making my vacation planning next to impossible.
  7. I mean, your wife isn't wrong. . . I lost track of how many "Trump: Make America Great Again" Shirts I saw people wearing at the park today. Welcome to the land of the (not) silent (any more) majority. Very Very few Bernie/Hillary supporters in the area except the liberal hot spots.
  8. I actually had a good ride on Corkscrew. No body jostling whatsoever.
  9. Has WildThing always slammed into the curves? My goodness the trains act like they're trying tear themselves apart. Oh and kudos to the Corkscrew crew. They're cranking out the trains today.
  10. No joke. That line was quite warm today.
  11. Not to mention that its a holiday and bring a friend free weekend. You couldn't pay me to go on a bring-a-friend day.
  12. It's called a GCI. Prowler and Gold Striker say otherwise. Other than the triple down there's not much air on Prowler Honestly I get great air on Prowler. Especially in the front. It's not ejector but there's tons of floater. Did you ever ride TimberWolf in it's glory days. The airtime was so kicka$$ that you could switch seats because of how hard you flew into that lap bar. Sure, GCI is neutering it, but still, if we are talking about legacies, TW was one of the best airtime coasters of all time. I'm not sure who you're asking here, but yes I rode Timber Wolf back during 1989. It opened on my birthday.

  14. So does the park have something against shade structures? The Eagles line will be brutal once the summer heat arrives. When the sun is full blast (even today) it was pretty warm.
  15. Yes you cast your fountain of gold on every thread you touch. That's why it smells like a lockerroom Everyone on the tour bus is scratching their heads on this one. Might you elaborate? You're marking your territory. You're pissing everywhere. Gold. Pee.

  17. I mean what gay person doesn't love riding a nice woodie?? A top. True. Speaking of Tops.... any news on Top Thrill Dragster? Is it starting to run more constantly this season? Well it's a piece of crap Intamin, but I repeat myself.
  18. I'm sure there are quite a few on these boards as well. It's best not to offend anyone. I'm glad you had fun at SDC. Did you do the cave tour? It's pretty neat and it offers nice break from the coasters. I feel like the park is missing out on some delicious craft beer sales to compliment the BBQ. The lack of responsibly sold alcohol at SDC and DW is a literal buzz kill for me. I wasn't aware SDC didn't sell alcohol. Its been quite a while since I've been though. Pssst. Two words. BIBLE. BELT. Bible Belt and no drinking do not share synonymous meanings to me, since I was raised Catholic. I didn't say "Catholic" Belt. This is hardcore Baptist country. Eh, it's about 45/45 Baptist and Assemblies of God. The world headquarters of the Assemblies of God, or as we locals call it, the "Blue Mecca," is located in downtown Springfield. SDC is associated with the Presbyterian Church--but all three of those are teetotaler groups. Honestly, it's not worth it to them to serve beer; more people around here would be offended by it than would enjoy it. You can't get beer in de park Hasa Diga Eebowei
  19. They do serve beer, you just can't leave the bar with it. It's available at Chickie's and Pete's, and at Battle Creek Barbecue. Boulevard Brewing Co. is KC's local mezzobrewery, and they make a huge number of seasonal and year-round varieties. They're most known for their unfiltered wheat, which is quite good and I believe on tap at both locations, if I'm not mistaken. Pehw, and that sounds awesome. I'm a huge fan of hefe-weiss. Thank's for the info. Isn't Chickie's just by the bottle? There is draft beer on the porch at Battlecreek

  22. It's about bloody time they gave Corkscrew an entrance sign.
  23. Park did a full evac today due to weather. They also had everyone go into storm shelters around the park for about an hour while the area was in a tornado warning. Our group got to go hang out in the old Orient Express station (now the lower level of Lore of the Vampire)
  24. Everyone I have talked to say that they are still being refurbished and are not on site yet. Doesn't sound promising that they will be added this year.
