  1. I watched the POV and can confirm it will be forceless. I rank it below Fury, I305, Millennium Force, and Leviathan which I have not ridden yet but know it is my 4th favorite due to the POV. Having finally ridden Leviathan over the weekend, my thought after that, was that it was still a mind-blowingly amazing coaster, in spite of often being regarded as the "worst Giga", and that Orion has some great elements that should make it even better than Leviathan! So there's no reason for anybody be worried about Orion being awesome!
  2. I noticed that right away too, and thought that was the funniest part of it all! Differentiating between the best new roller coaster experience (Steel Curtain) and all around attraction experience (Hagrid's) actually makes a lot of sense, and doesn't seem too off really. But the rankings being different than the specific categories is pretty funny, and hypocritical! Yeah! Lots and lots of normal people (ie: not coaster enthusiasts), as well as some enthusiasts I know of on this very site (because everybody on this site is an enthusiast, whether they like to identify themselves that way or not!) SV is super intense, and for the average coaster-rider, they're going to prefer MF to it most likely. Not me, but I certainly don't fault anybody for feeling that way.
  3. The problem is that it's gotten itself stuck in a rock. They're conducting a nationwide search to find someone worthy of removing it. I liked it. Lol I did as well!
  4. Well, I'm not sure if I've posted in this thread before, but regardles, I got in Yukon Striker today, to add to my list (which also includes Behemoth, at CW!) Such an amazing coaster on its own merit, regardless of its type! We were all blown away by it! Easily the best Dive Coaster we've ridden!
  5. Thanks for the heads-up! We'll try to get back row! Almost there!
  6. Thanks for all the help! It's been a fun, relaxing half day at the park today. Absolutely crazy-go-nuts busy, but that's to he expected here on a Saturday. That's why this was our pass processing day, and "bonus" day at the park. Tomorrow, we'll be here all day, and have FL+, so we'll really "do the park" tomorrow. We got here at 4, and managed to circle the park, I drank a beer while we checked it out, then made Wonder Mountain Guardian our first ride! It was our first time on it, and I thought it was fun, primarily for the backwards down the drop experience, and then the ending, of course. We then got in Dragon Fyre, Wylde Night Mares, and Vortex, before getting in line for Leviathan. We also chilled and ate a little while rain blew through. All in all, not a bad score on a busy day like today! So, we're presently in line for Leviathan, as we get our first ride on it for our last ride of the night. What do you guys think is the best place to sit on this beast? We have at least 20 minutes still, before getting on if you reply quick! Thanks again for all the tips, and I'll be posting a picture TR when I'm back home next week. Until then, here's a shot I took that I liked!
  7. Those are amazing pictures! #4 and #5 make for great Home and Lock Screen pictures! Thanks for sharing!
  8. ^Thanks for that info! I'll have to try and make sure to get into that one, hopefully front row! When I do Google Maps to the park, after the CW/Rutherford Rd. exit, it takes me down Rutherford to Jane St., and then to the Park Entrance. However, I noticed that going straight off of that exit takes you directly onto Canada's Wonderland Drive, which then leads right to the park and toll booths. Shouldn't that be the way I actually go, not the way Google Maps is trying to send me? Also, I have some other last minute questions, for anybody inclined to answer. -Is there any benefit to getting to the park early before the gates open? I'll be going on Sunday, so I don't think it'll be crazy crowded, but this is CW, so you never know. -I'll be going to the park first Saturday evening, to first process our Platinum Passes, and get a little jump on the riding before the full day Sunday. Will I be able to use the free FL+ we're getting to buy that for the following day? Or at the park are all FL+ purchased for same-day use only? I've never used a FL+ before, so I'm not really familiar with how it all works. -I know Wonder Mountain Guardian has some downtime issues, so if I see it operating Saturday night after we get into the park, since it's not on FL+, should we go on that then? Or should we wait until Sunday, and make it our first ride of the day before the line builds up? What is considered a "short line" time-wise for WMG? -Does CW have the same ride closing policy at the end of the day as CP? Where you can generally enter a line queue up until around 7 minutes after closing time? Or are they more punctual about closing things? It looks like Sundown will be 7:43 the first night we're there, and then 7:41 the second night, so we should be able to get a night ride each night, and maybe a couple, depending on crowds, and how punctual they are on closing the queues. Along those lines, which rides do you most recommend for getting those night rides in on? I figured we'd do Leviathan one day, and Yukon Striker the next, but it'd be nice if we could squeeze a ride in on Behemoth after dark as well! Thanks in advance for any assistance! I've really appreciated how helpful everybody in this thread is about CW! I'm wanting to make this an awesome time for my kids on their first visit to Canada (or out of the Country, period!), so getting all of these things planned out and prepared for is super helpful!
  9. I'm following this thread with interest, as I was talking to my oldest son the other day, and he'd like to do a Texas Coaster trip for his special Graduation Trip in 2022. It'd be nice to get down to Texas before then, but I'm not holding my breath. There's lots of good info here so far, so thanks to OP for asking, and to all those who've contributed! I went to San Antonio years ago, for my one and only time, and LOVED the city, and area! It's probably my second favorite US city I've visited! SFFT stood out as a fantastic SF park, and we were only there for a few hours before an afternoon Wedding! That was long before Iron Rattler, or Wonder Woman (or Goliath or Batman, for that matter), and it still was awesome! Ditto this! I love the River Walk vibe, and the boat ride is a MUST! Didn't have any beer on it sadly (not the type of crowd I was with at the time), but that's a great Pro-Tip for a future visit!
  10. ^I was thinking the same thing! I'm definitely loving that color, and looking forward to seeing it loom above the KI skyline when I approach for the first time next year! When I started reading the first part of your post there, I was thinking, "Man! This person is EXACTLY like me!" Then I realized it WAS me! I'm glad you commiserate regarding the "bad egg" issue you can definitely encounter among enthusiasts. I swear, I've never seen another "enthusiast" fandom that can sometimes seem so anti-social, dour, and unenthusiastic about what they supposedly love! Still, I have had primarily positive experiences in person with other enthusiasts, and always enjoy meeting up, and spending time with other like-minded people! Just so long as they know and understand I'll probably have three of my kids with me, as they're all coaster-lovers too, and my primary riding partners! It's good to have you back here! TPR may not be perfect, but from my venturing around the world of internet coaster enthusiasm over the past 20 years, I do think it's the best community I've found, at least that's still currently around!
  11. the yolo area was so nice before too. nice place to sit in the shade and watch the log jammer. This reminds me of the TTD situation at CP. Before it was installed, that stretch of the park from Magnum to the Corkscrew (I was going to say Jungle Larry's Safari, but that would have really dated me!) was such a quiet, peaceful stretch of the park! I enjoyed walking back through there at the end of a long day at The Point, and just enjoying the greenery, and the little waterway that went through there. It was definitely the most "zen" part of the park! Not saying I wish they didn't install TTD. But it definitely transformed what once was one of the most serene parts of the park, to one of the least shaded, and loudest parts of the park. So, a bittersweet situation, much like what I imagine YOLO and SFMM is (I haven't been since YOLO, but recall how nice that area was before.)
  12. ^Thanks! As far as the coasters go, the only ones I haven't been on yet are Leviathan, Wonder Mountain Guardian, and Yukon Striker, so those, Behemoth, and Vortex are the only ones I will be bummed if I can't ride. I'll probably attempt to ride most of the coasters with my kids (aside from Flight Deck, and maybe Wilde Beast), but if I can't fit in the test seat, I won't be too bummed. As for flats, I'm interested in Sledgehammer, Skyhawk, Lumberjack, and possibly Soaring Timbers. I know that last one is a pretty tight fit for anybody, and its reviews are pretty lackluster, so I may not even bother. Thanks again for the assistance!
  13. ^I'll be going to the park with my kids this Sunday, and we'll be utilizing the FL+ we're getting with our Platinum Pass purchase, which we're activating that day. Otherwise, that would have been awesome! Very generous of you! Regarding that forthcoming trip, I'm having to consider things like my increased size at parks now (not proud of it, and I'm definitely going to work hard to slim back down before next year's coaster season), and I was curious what the situation is like at CW regarding their coasters and flats. I am not huge or anything, but I can't get on Wicked Twister at CP currently, and it was tight on a few things at KI last month. I'm about 5'9", and 245 pounds, for comparison sake. Are there certain coasters and flats that I might have an issue with fitting on? I've read the article Robb posted about guests of larger dimensions, so I'm not talking about those types of tips and strategies. Basically just what the locals or regulars who may be similar in size to me have found regarding how my size could affect me at CW. Thanks in advance for any help! Hopefully this is a situation that I've rectified before long, so I don't even have to ask these embarrassing questions.
  14. ^, ^^ That does sound like a cool system! Given that, I DO hope Jersey Devil has that type of setup, with the moving platform! Especially if they're still letting you choose your seat!
  15. Could we have a little discussion about whether Jersey Devil will have assigned seating, and/or a moving platform loading system like Wonder Woman? I have not been on either of the current Raptor models, so for those who have, please weigh in on this if you could. What are the current seating assignment, or pick your seat systems in place at WW and Railblazer? I know WW has the moving platform, and it appears a single line that feeds the train, so I'm assuming they always assign seats. Is that the case? As for RB, I know they don't have the moving platform, so do they have queues for each row, and you can choose where you sit? Turning to Jersey Devil, I am really hoping for the ability to choose your seat on this coaster! I know that having a single line feed the train and no assigned seating would boost capacity, but especially on a coaster like this, where the back should offer a pronounced ride enhancement, it'd be nice to have the option to choose. Could they possibly have a moving platform, and individual row queues? Again, I've never actually been on WW, so I don't know if they have those or not, but from the videos I've seen, it doesn't appear to. Thoughts? Predictions? What do you all want the seating system to be, and what do you predict it will end up being? This is going to be an awesome coaster, regardless of which setup they use, and it has me eagerly anticipating my next visit to SFGAdv next year!
  16. ^Wow! That would be absolutely perfect, actually! It wouldn't even need to be repainted to be themed that. It's almost too perfect not to happen, honestly. I guess we'll see if SF wants to put the effort into new signage or not...
  17. Cool, thanks for the info! I'm definitely looking to go either a Friday night, or Sunday non-Haunt day. So it sounds like we should be good to go either way!
  18. I understand that Dorney has a reputation for not being very crowded as a general rule, but what are crowds like for Haunt, typically? Friday nights, specifically. My kids and I aren't really into the actual Haunts, so we'd primarily be concerned about the lines for the coasters, and other rides. Thanks in advance!
  19. I feel like if they did something Mary Poppins themed, it would be blending the two movies together, since they are an original and a sequel.
  20. I'm sure this was discussed before, when Justice League was put in, and the former water ride was themed to Aquaman, but do you suppose with this major new addition going in over there, there's any chance Pandemonium is re-themed to something DC?
  21. Whatever it is, it seems like perhaps it's Space or celestial themed. RMC Raptor from the local supplier, perhaps?
  22. ^This was my thought as well. I've never had a ride on The Bull that I thought was "butter smooth" throughout the duration of the ride. That turnaround is always a little bit jerky. Not too bad, mind you. But not really smooth, in my opinion. The rest of the coaster definitely is, however!
  23. So, it's that time of year again, where I dream about going to Knoebels, due to their famous PPP event! However, it's been a couple years since I've given it serious thought, so refresh my memory... What is the deal with PPP again? I know that it's an event on Saturday the 5th that is open to everybody, but isn't there an enthusiast only part of the event as well? Perhaps on Friday the 4th? If somebody could catch me up to speed on the details of that, as I can't seem to find much online regarding the enthusiast aspect of the event. Thanks! Also, if I don't go during PPP, but go on a different weekend this Fall, I see there are Day Passes on Saturdays then. However, it mentioned there are a "selection of rides open." Does anybody have any insight into what that usually means? I'm assuming the coasters will still all run, but I'd hate to miss any of the great flats, too! Thanks again, for any and all insight!
