  1. They have Drop Line listed as 200ft after Pete himself said 230ft as does the promo video, i don't get it?
  2. ^ Personally i have always found that walk way to be a little bland and boring. I think that it is the perfect part of the park to add a couple of traditional family flat rides to. A tilt 'a' whirl or wipeout for example could fit in easily and be themed to fit Timber Canyon quite nicely if done right. (Which Dollywood would most certainly do) Widening the path will be a plus in every way i can think of, but adding a queue line or two along the way would help human traffic jamming more then anything else in my opinion.
  3. Just to strike up some random off-season conversation, what coaster do we realistically see Dollywood getting as their next one? My guess is a B&M invert, the last two major coasters have no inversions and i think after the LR issues the next choice will be something known for reliability. They could easily give it a 200+ft drop making it the worlds first inverted hyper satisfying the need to break a record as they typically want to do, it would most likely break the invert speed record as well. That's my opinion anyway, what does everyone else think?
  4. Tennessee Tornado may be short, but really packs a punch. I've always wished it was a little longer as i think that would elevate it's status in the enthusiast community, but i think to myself "at least it's not some standard corkscrew model" and that gives me the peace of mind to appreciate how unique and fantastic this ride is. It was my first major coaster and will always hold a special place in my soul.
  5. ^ I believe the rapids is the only one left, but keep in mind that they do have one hell of a waterpark if folks are looking to cool off. I hope that this leads to them adding a traditional log flume at some point in the near future, it would fit perfectly at this park.
  6. The one at Knoebels is pretty balls out as well. The indoor aspect elevates the whole experience in my opinion. It's like what a Gravitron should have been.
  7. The coaster has car themed trains that are supposed to be frantically driving through woods that are basically trying to kill you, maybe there is some sort of simulated crashing thing going on in the shed.
  8. ^ Ummmm?!!!, If your someone who isn't gonna visit the park on a regular basis, most definitely make Firechaser a priority while visiting.
  9. I would find hard to believe that Sideshow Spin will be taken out this season because the station was just repainted this past season, however i do think a Country Fair area overhaul is part of their $300,000,000+ expansion plan. So i do see it being sold off or trashed at some point. (That will make me sad as it was my son's first coaster) But i think the direction Dollywood is moving in will bring a major attraction to that area with the revamp. (The area needs it, and it would help with crowd dispersion) As far as the Backstage Resturant makeover, as long as they keep the club sandwich and the pimento cheese appetiser (< this is me licking the jar) i'm good. The thing that made me the most excited about the video when i found it was that Drop Line is gonna be 230ft, that extra 30ft that we didn't know existed will make a huge difference on the spectacular view you'll get from the top. I still didn't think Dollywood was aloud to build that high, (i guess Dolly can get the county board to do whatever she wants when she has mountains that can hide the park from being seen at a distance on her person ), and God bless her for it! The expansion future of Dollywood is looking bigger and better, imo.
  10. This one? I can't watch right now to be sure. That's it.
  11. ^ I gave directions on how to find the source. (insert middle finger smile face)
  12. A video on Youtube featuring Pete Owens speaking at the 2017 No Coaster Con reveals the true spec's of Drop Line, it's 230ft tall as opposed to 200ft. Also he gives some really good insight to LR's issues and said the "pothole" has been smoothed out. The car trunks on the trains will return next season, and the wasp prevention roof worked excellently. He said that it worked so well there will eventually be a similar prevention structure on Wild Eagle, but B&M would have to be brougt in to help with it. (Maybe while their there they can convince the sale of a hyper or invert. ) I can't post a link cause i flat out just don't know how to from this device, but anyone should have no trouble finding it by Youtube searching No Coaster Con 2017.
  13. I think a way to convert Vortex into a floorless and make it quite a phenomenal ride would be to fully enclose it and add some crazy effects to some sort of theme. I think it's small enough that it could easily be done. imho I think that would make it the worlds first indoor B&M?
  14. Souvenir cups are a staple of the theme park environment. Every time i visit a new park it is a must that i get one. I think that the overall money that would be lost from random once a year visitors that see the cups and say "hey that's cool, i'm gonna get one of those" as opposed to "well i don't have a season pass, and i'm not paying 5 dollars for one soda. Guess i'll just find a water fountain" would do serious damage to the park's annual revenue. (And yes, the extra trash would be a negative issue as well )
  15. You also have to factor in that Dollywood "technically" has a height restriction of 200ft, however they seem to get around it a bit here and there.
  16. Random question, does Banshee have the extended seat belt rows for larger folk? If so what rows?
  17. Better than what's going to Hershey imo.
  18. This coaster looks top notch! The lift and set up for the drop and inversion looks to me as if mister Anton Schwarzkopf designed it. Nice job Gravity Group and Fun Spot!
  19. The Boat Chute at Lake Winnie!!! Height, speed, inversions and forces play no part in this ride, but it takes your soul and brings it into a relm of natural human fear that can become overwhelming. Those who have rode it know what i'm talking about, if you haven't rode it, look up a video. (just keep in mind the video will not do the live experience justice, but you'll get the concept)
  20. Holiday World should really consider adding a resort as a near future expansion, this will resolve any "where to stay issues". GET ON IT Holiday World!
  21. ^^^ I personally haven't been to SDC, but my home park is Dollywood. I therefore assume that the food would be somewhat similar in excellence. GREAT STUFF! However, upon having a visit to Knoebel's earlier this year, the food there is so phenomenal it put's your local fair and carnival food to shame. Probably the only golden ticket award that really holds up to truth.
  22. Dollywood, several times. Pretty certain this years family theme park trip will be our first visit to Holiday World, (subject to change at the moment), but not likely.
  23. Barnstormer should work out for your friend, it has altered seats for larger folks. I've stated before on here that my frequent ride buddy is a big dude. Mystery Mine is the only ride he absolutely can't fit on. I can squeeze him in everything else, but on Barnstormer he needs no assistance. You and your friend have a great visit!
