  1. 6/10 Annoying people?
  2. Ghost train is said to be the largest investment made by the park. I cannot say how much it was, as I don't know, but it has to be over 18 million as the swarm cost that much.

  4. I am surprised those rides are going in so early. I know they can be built in a matter of days. Hopefully they are thinking of adding some nice affects to it.
  5. Damn, it was the morning. Annoyingly Thorpe Park are not admitting that Air was originally made for Thorpe Park. I blame David for his lies.
  6. I think the boomerang at Walibi Rhone Alpes is the one with lap bars when they turned it into Eqwalizer. Yes, that is true. I almost got to ride it.
  7. I would have to give Colossus at TP some lap bars and TLC. All it needs I think.
  8. Your trying to tell me at the UK's Thrill Capital that has had 5 coasters between 2002 and 2012, a coaster every 2 years - will have a gap of 8 years. You have got to be joking. No ones joking about that, all Merlin parks seem to be on a plan which includes a major investment every 4 years, and although this changes from time to time due to different factors, they do seem to be sticking to it. It used to be 3 years between but that's now changed. Merlin count DBGT as Thorpe's Major investment which following the plan has come 4 years after The Swarm, so unless things change slightly then they are certainly set to go around 8 years without adding a major coaster with their next coming at around 2020. As i said though, they could potentially change this plan slightly for Thorpe if they wanted to add one before then. While this logically makes sense I think that 2018/2019 is a lot more likely because honestly while DBGT is a major investment it just has no rerideability which rollercoasters do have for me and the general public. I mean I went with my friends to Thorpe and they all just said it was good but they would prefer to just go on a coaster as its more exciting. I honestly can't see myself going back onto that incredibly mediocre ride unless the queue is 30 minutes or less. Thank you for someone finally coming to termes with me and a point I made! Stealth: 2005 (4 year gap) Saw: 2009 (3 year gap (only so it could be themed to 2012 apocalypse )) Swarm: 2012 (4 year gap) DBGT
  9. If there is a flyer, the chance is that it will be not for 4 years at least. this is because the ghost train was a big investment and the biggest the park has ever made. Samurai is there as it was at Chessington, but it did not fit in with the family thing they were going for, so they moved it to Thorpe Park.
  10. ^ oh wow that's really cool. I hoped they would be re used as they were in good shape.
  11. Guys, guys, chill. I am only saying things that my VIP host told me during the tour I did at Thorpe Park. Now, if he told me absolute bull sh*t, then I will bring it up with him as I still have his E mail and am going to ask him tonight. All I am trying to say is that the Thorpe flyer rumour may have originated by this. Then somehow I began getting interrogated by that person saying that Thorpe Park should have Air. Personally if Thorpe were to get a flying coaster, I would prefer to see a new more modern design with a pretzel loop and 540 degree zero g roll. I was surprised about this fact, however I know not everything he said was false, like Stealth originally being called the Edge. I even have evidence for that one. See behind it, it says edge and with a slightly different logo.
  12. I heard this on the VIP behind the scenes tour I did. The hot told me this along with some other things. This may annoy you, but Colossus was originally intended to go to Chessington.
  13. That seriously makes no sense at all. Cloning an out of date, mild, prototype coaster is not a good thing. At least Batman is awesome and not mild. Thorpe Park and Merlin in general do good to not have clones of rides, and if there are, they have the first one of the kind and there are not many (Colossus).
  14. Are the shot towers from Liseberg, or are they new?
  15. it is now Galactica, which is a strange strange ride. I think it is there to stay, sorry. E-mail Thorpe park and tell them your complaint, I am sure they will take you very seriously. I do think that Air now sits very nicely into Alton Towers: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=72375 See the TR. See the holes in the ground. Taken on Saturday. It will not leave.
  16. I am pretty sure Thorpe Park knew what they were doing. i only have so much information, and am not going to make up anything I do not know as true. All I am saying is that this rumor of a B&M flying coaster probably came from the fact that Air was going to be built at Thorpe Park.
  17. I don't see why it is dirty. The thing is that at the time, they could not remove the land from what was Thorpe farm, in order to keep the water volume the same when they make the new island. However with the Swarm, they had the money and ability to get rid of some land to keep the water volume the same, however, it being Tussaud's (like Merlin), they did not wait as they wanted to have the worlds first, so built it at Alton Towers.
  18. You do know they are both, and were both owned by the same people and often work together, like the Stealth-Rita thing that went on, byt the fact they were both meant to be one coaster, but then they could not get the second launch in, so they did some geeky stuff and split the two designs, to make two coasters. That is why Stealth seems as short, as does Rita. So in answer to your questing, essentially yes.
  19. A rollercoaster enthusiast can often tell if another person is one by their behavior, then if they see you as someone they recognize, they may say hi. I have recognized people before but said nothing.
  20. That looks pretty nice. I do love all the things you can do with water rides.
  21. Not at all. As it was a prototype coaster though, it was not very tall, so only needed a bit of digging into the ground, but you can see the station is in a hole to lower the ride down.
  22. A very interesting fact is that Air was originally designed to go to Thorpe Park, however it would require creating more land on the island, and taking away some land from the main land, which at that point, they did not want to do or could afford. This meant that the B and M flying coaster was moved to Alton Towers and themed to a heroic thing as a juxtaposition to Nemesis. That is how Air came about.
