  1. 4.5 million in the first year
  2. Source Is this project back on track? this could be the location for that Takabisha clone track (If it is that) TripleFive looks to have finally squeezed their last incentive out of New Jersey and looks to finally issue bonds to complete the place. They got in there and did a huge amount of work and stopped to extort more favorable terms. Plus they wanted in on any possible ok'ing of casinos in North Jersey. That push is meant to land a Hard Rock branded casino at the racetrack. But Triple Five said, " hey how about us." Did that vote ever get approved for the ballot.?
  3. http://historic-memphis.com/memphis-historic/fairgrounds/fairgrounds.html
  4. OP needs to contact Vance Lauderdale at Memphis Magazine as well.
  5. I've got old photos of the antique cars, the entry area with the hounddog mascot and Tom Sawyer's Island but their faded pretty bad and not suitable to your needs. There is a guy into old Memphis photos at MemphisTigers.org. he pretty much runs a thread on the general Memphis board,.goes by Cletus. I'd hit him up. http://csnbbs.com/thread-421895.html
  6. I'm tearin up. The dark days of Memphis politics, it's so much better now. City is coming back out if the shadowz. Graceland just announced a major entertainment development and it immediately popped into my mind that that is where a new version of the Zippin Pippin should have been built along with a set recreation of the carnival in Roustabout. How Memphis just basically gave away the naming rights and design rights for a song is beyond me, same administration that pissed away the Memphis Belle as well.
  7. Little know fact, Jack Daniels is produced in a dry county. Meaning no alcohol sales.except for some specialty items at the Distillery. Up the road at Tullahoma, where they make George Dickle, you can wet your whistle good. Memphis has: a world class zoo with a small collection of ancient kiddie rides Beale Street where Country is really heard. So much Que to choose from it' s silly. I'm partial to The Commissary, Central and Three Little Pigs. Graceland the second most visited house in America behind only the White House Sun Studio, stand where Elvis, Johnny, Jerry Lee, Bono and others have stood and recorded. Stax Studio Museum Blues Museum Chill at Overton Square and Lafayette's where you might notice Robert Plant at the table next to you like I have.
  8. Did we miss this? Will it join Yas Waterworld, Ferrari World and the Warner Brother's park? Too bad it's not a revival of the old Orca shaped island proposal that included SeaWorld and Busch Gardens: • SeaWorld CEO Joel Manby says that SeaWorld has "moved to a definitive agreement stage" and that "money has changed hands" • Hoping to publicly announce the expansion plans in Fall 2016 • Will not have killer whales on display. Check out the source article for more details and more future SeaWorld plans: http://www.attractionsmanagement.com/detail.cfm?pagetype=detail&subject=news&codeID=325715
  9. What was your impression on the vekoma coaster inside Yas? I'm really intrigued to see the Flying Aces train complete with the wings and tail gunners. Since it is an Intamin, did the shuttle look like the outside spike could gain back a drop tower style ride using the supports. Intamin, seems to love that idea when they can do it. Glad to see them shift the theming to more of "Life Inside of Italy" instead of "Life inside a Dealership."
  10. If you invested in SIX and FUN in late 2009 or early 2010 after the bottom of the financial markets were established, you would have done yourself a huge favor . Stocks well below 10 doars a share have seen prices in the 60 range, the 5 year graphs are a solid 45 degree angle up from left to right. In Fact, if had made a basket of theme park stocks including Comcast, Disney, Village Roadshow and even Merlin You would have had an outstanding mini fund based on theme parks. This link kinda reminds me of half the Motley Fool articles I read in that it's half nonsense. Adding coaster s and coaster alone isn't the answer and selling the Busch Gardens properties is foolish as well. In fact, they could use a new a Busch Gardens or two. Now, a merger of Herschend and SEAS that included all parks would make sense but I doubt Herschend has the capital to buy SEAS and take them private. Herchend has shown zero interest in going public. SeaWorld would have to do the buying.
  11. Glad the OP enjoyed the O'Keefe' s Jimson Weed/White Flower #1 on loan from Crystal Bridges in Bentonville AR. I enjoyed viewing Picaso's Seated Woman in a Chemise on loan from Tate Modern.
  12. How about a Blue Fire like launch coaster with the spinning cars they tested?
  13. Just let #2 be a Mack Blue Fire based coaster with spinning cars but only #1 mentions being launched.
  14. #2 a Mack Spinner with a train? The other two look like Gerstlauer cars. Mack did single cars for Cobra Curse bute the seats all face the same way. It also.looks like a reuse of Flooded Mine in a way. #1 looks to use the waterboggan tower
  15. Some thoughts. If they got rid of the dry side completely it would adversely effect the otherwise biggest draw they have in the outdoor concert series. It would also effect the what seems to be somewhat profitable Spook House season they have. The Vecoma needs the new train like Kentucky Kingdom. Ed Hart put that Vecoma in by the way. And yes I mean Vecoma as in you think you may be put in one. Big Big John needs to be replaced with a newer coaster. Arkansas Twister either retraced or trash heap. I There seems to be plenty of space to build new rides while allowing for water park expansion on former dry side land. They need to put in a nice themed kids area like the newer one at Djurs Sommerland. In fact, this should be a perfect place to replicate the smaller to midsized euro model with above average theming that's been taking place the past few years. Toverland comes to mind sans the indoor part. They have been offering 25 dollar admission specials on social media sites, I almost decided to go see Blues Traveler but my summer fun budget is blown at this point.
  16. That looks amazing. Scratch that Star Wars idea, an Iron Man ride
  17. I'll play along ...and for a Star Wars Ride as well.
  18. You mean Q1 2017 as 201 has past? They need the on property resorts but they need to get them right. Even Cedar Fair showed the greatest growth in lodging. I'm wondering when we see Six Flags enter that Market. They could build their own resorts with indoor water parks and ropes courses and what not. Look at St Louis and all that spa e around the Eureka park. With Halloween and Christmas becoming an important seasons for theme parks it's more and more a no brainer.
  19. Brazil is giving everyone some type of Zika. San Antonio Aquatica is a slide tower with a kick ass water coaster as part of it away from really being nice. The Sea World side is getting the jet ski launch coaster but needs some more themed up flats and and an on site themed hotel. The backstage area for the Belugas needs themed up to match the dolphin interaction considering they charge the same. We are hitting up BGW next summer, glad they are getting a new woodie.
  20. I know I'll probably get blasted for this, but that looks really ugly. Like Gale Force is such a good looking ride, but the Miler right on top of it looks straight up ratchet. I realize the park is strapped for space but the aesthetics are driving my OCD up the wall. End of rant. While Gale Force looks like it going to be a ton of fun to ride, and I've enjoyed watching it go up, I've felt like it was ugly right from the announcement. The paintjob is fine but the layout and supports look like a 5 year old came up with it. The Miler only makes it worse. I still want to ride the sh*t out of it. In fact I'm getting exited to ride the Miler too. It does have a needs to be enclosed look going on.
  21. I agree with this. But isn't Grand Texas coming soon? It'll go to Galveston first. I think it is one of the suggested locations on the Web site. I would really like to see the polercoaster drop tower version mixed in with a smaller indoor park with an Imax movie complex, bowling alley and a Dave and Busters type venue all part of it.
  22. Sounds like he wanted a Star Flyer with the 300ft.
  23. Full Tennessee Experience? Glad you had a good time in HALF the state
  24. Imagine a revamped Fire in the Hole at SDC with that drop at the burning bridge.and launch into a new coaster finale.
  25. Weird. The link works just fine right? Still getting not availible
