Best and Lamest Coaster "Ending"
KPfan replied to Teddymonster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
For me, the best is the Beast. The worst would be Skyrocket at Kennywood. -
Kennywood (KW) Discussion Thread
KPfan replied to DenDen's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It's not an over the top event. The park has made improvements but the budget isn't on par with the bigger parks. Still a good time though. Most big rides are open. -
That One Ride You Just Can't Enjoy...
KPfan replied to HAZE's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Ugh, yeah Time Warp was uncomfortable. I like the concept though. That spiral lift design is cool. -
Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread

Kennywood did that this year and it as great. $20 was a no brainier, especially if you have a season pass. -

Hmm, no of one that I completely avoid although most woodies are one and done for me these days. I'd say Flight Deck at Canadas Wonderland would be one that I just don't like and could skip. -
Skyplex Orlando Discussion Thread
KPfan replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
As I was driving down in that area this past weekend, I thought Skyplex would actually look good in that skyline. I understand the points on both sides but personally I'd like to see it built. Maybe it could indirectly benefit Universal as it might attract more people to that area, and perhaps to the Universal parks as well. -
What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?
KPfan replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Krakken at SeaWorld Orlando on Saturday. -
It's odd because I can see the picture too... And it loads immediately for me too. I can't see the first one you originally posted though, just the new one. *edit* I can't see the new one you just uploaded though. Weird. Sorry, I'm terrible with posting pictures. lol It's working for me now but we'll see if others can see it.

Bummer, since Hulk was designed just before B&M began mixing vagisil into the ink they print their blueprints with. I wasn't given the impression that the ride would be toned down at all. It's probably not what they're going for, but the B&M of today is different than the B&M of old. If they're re-shaping track sections...I'm not an engineer, but I would imagine that the difference between a forceful ride and a fluff ride are not too radical in terms of track profile. It would probably only take a tweak here or there to turn Kumba into Kraken. Ironically, I rode Kumba this past Thursday and then Krakken yesterday. Now I better understand what you were saying. Had a blast on both coasters but Kumba felt more aggressive to me.

The layout won't be changing from what we were told, however there is a possibility that some sections could be reshaped. There will be something different about the launch system and the trains are getting some modernization. Was back there again today. Not sure if this has been posted but this piece is clearly marked as scrap. Looks like there are red and blue dots now marking other sections. Image is not showing up. Can you upload the image so this doesn't happen? Thanks. Sorry, looks like a permissions issue with the host. Will try this new link.

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
KPfan replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
With a weather forecast like that, I'd be spending some time in frontier town drinking some moonshine. Then I'd just sit back and watch people get scared by the Haunt actors. -
What's the lamest first drop you have been on?
KPfan replied to Quetzal's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Another vote for Mean Streak. The trim brake on the first drop is just wrong... -
Yes, that would be correct. Stress fatigue is the likely explanation. Track sections experience different types of stress depending on placement and design. Some are under constant stress that varies during the ride cycle. Other sections go from zero stress to load stress then back to zero after the train passes. This is why some sections wear out faster than others.
