  1. Wouldn't it tie the record with kennywood? Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  2. I'm of the opinion that No Limits was born out of that idea. Someone probably created it for the purpose of modeling a concept for the industry but then decided to profit from the hard work.
  3. Don't forget that Kennywood still allows food to be bought into the park. So if you want to load up a cooler you can get a spot in one of the pavilions or rent a kabana if you want. I always recommend getting there at opening and work your way around the park. As mentioned above, Exterminator, Black Widow and Phantom's Revenge are a good starting point. Even if the park is busy you shouldn't have a problem getting on everything at least once.
  4. Sundays are usually a good day to go. The crowd shouldn't be too bad. Lines are generally less then 30min but may hit 45 for certain coasters.
  5. Sky Rocket has been down for repair for several weeks. So that is one less line you'll be waiting in. Also know that getting there early will ensure that there is ample free parking available and a chance to get in line for some rides before it gets too busy.
  6. Hopefully this is worth the hype. To start teasing this far ahead is uncharacteristic for the park. Quite a few people have replied to the Facebook announcement hoping for an RMC. Obviously that was already squashed at Coaster Bash, assuming that they weren't trying to intentionally mislead people. A raptor would be a good addition to the park.
  7. Thirsty pony is fun with a good menu. Brick oven bistro has awesome pizza. Diana's is decent diner food. Chet and Matt's has good pizza as well.
  8. Just rode SV after a 20min wait. Did not disappoint. [emoji106]
  9. Short compared to normal. Temps are upper 40s with spotty rain. Most lines are under 30 min. SV has been down for a good 2hrs now.
  10. It's a classic indoor dark ride. Essentially you sit in a boat that follows a course through a Garfield themed story. They have tons of fluorescent paint and black lighting that give you a 3D effect while wearing the glasses. It used to be themed as the Old Mill with a western skeleton theme. Many people would prefer that the park return it to that state but with some newer technical enhancements.
  11. Check their events schedule to see if the fall fantasy parades are scheduled for then. They usually bring schools to the park and it can be busy. Sunday is usually the better of the weekend days if you do go. Depending on how much time you have it may be a non issue even if it's busy. Their lines move fairly well and are nothing like the bigger parks. Cool, was planning on Sunday anyways, and the Fall Fantasy is earlier in the month. From what you said, does that mean that Kennywood is more of a half day park? It depends. On a day when everything is practically a walk on, you can cover the park in a few hours. Obviously that leaves more times for rerides. But on the busiest days a full day is usually still good enough to get on everything at least once. Though I'd recommend trying to knock out the big stuff as early in the day as possible.

  13. The pictures posted yesterday show that the footers in the lagoon area are done for now. Still some exposed rebar on them leaving me wondering if they will refill the lagoon as is, cut off the rebar once cured, or possibly pour more concrete on top to cover them. Looks like 15 total with two markers near the Racer and shooting gallery still remaining. Plus lots of work being done on the former site of Log Jammer with a sign of some clearing near the ravine.
  14. You can find these from time to time at local Pittsburgh restaurants near the restrooms.
  15. Wonder if the sky coaster could be moved closer to the ravine. Swinging out over the ledge towards the river would be insane.
  16. That's definitely different from the leaked plans from last year. Those footers are actually in the lagoon area between the garden stage and the BBQ food stand. Nobody has mentioned development in that area. The rumored coaster was always believed to be closer to the ravine. Perhaps this is along the lines of stormrunner.
  17. Oh, no doubt. I agree that it's the right decision. Just saying that the engineering and build quality of Steel Phantom wasn't the best. Toss in the traditional Arrow restraints and it's a recipe for a headbanging mess. Imagine Steel Phantom redone using Intamin style track with restraints similar to Intimidator 305. I think it would be a winner.
  18. You mean like Steel Phantom? Yes, if they can make it not actively try to kill people this time. It was great the first few years but didn't age too well. Could have just retracked that ride with Morgan rail rather than a redesign. But I think the GP likes it better and it's certainly aged well aside from the paint.
  19. Personally I'd rather see something a little more unique for kennywood. Floorless, dive or inverted steel, or a hybrid /woodie with inversions. Something that their patrons have not seen before.
  20. Are they really adding the turnpike back. Unconfirmed at this point but we should know by mid summer based on how that are starts to develop.
  21. When are you planning to visit the park? If it's possible, maybe squeeze in a few hours at Lakemont Park in between Kennywood and Knoebels. (sort of between them) Lakemont has a couple of gems, even if it doesn't have a lot to offer. Leap the Dips definitely checks the quirky, classic categories. [emoji846]
  22. That's one thing I really appreciate at KW. Most of the time you can get around the park and ride everything in 6-8 hours and maybe even get a few rerides. Yes, there are those days when it's rediculously busy though. Best to ask here on the forums or over at kpconnection for input from the locals.
