  1. Looks like Steel Curtain has reopened
  2. Thank you! We've been discussing it due to the proximity of the city. The views look amazing and we don't mind the lack of thrills. We tend to visit smaller parks and fairs in between our big park trips. Just didn't want to go out of our way to find that it's a total waste of time.
  3. Going to be spending a week in Toronto this month and plan for 2 days at CW. Was wondering if it's worth visiting Centreville Park while in town. Anyone ever been?
  4. I would think that ground work would have already started if they were building a coaster. Unless they already have space available.
  5. It was okay... nothing to write home about... Darien Lake's is far better. ' The show hadn't been updated in several years. So hopefully it eventually returns with something fresh.
  6. It was up until last season but has been removed this year. Steel Curtain forced the removal of a few of the fire effects in the lagoon and created some obstruction for the lasers.
  7. 39-120min depending on weather Well, so far, it's supposed to be pretty nice that day. I'll make sure that I have my phone charged, and I'll bring my hat. Should be able to cover the entire park in that timeframe depending on the crowd. And they don't have free WiFi so phone battery life can vary depending on carrier and signal strength.
  8. 39-120min depending on weather
  9. They are assigning seats on most days but will usually accomodate seat requests. The line for front could be an additional 20-45min at times. Regarding PFN, it typically runs through October. I think it's worth a visit but it gets pretty crowded. Lines for the haunts can exceed an hour.
  10. Yes Depends on the crowd. But I would say no as it's usually busy, especially Steel Curtain.
  11. Steel Curtain is better than Phantom's Revenge in my opinion. Phantom's 2nd drop is incredible and the speed and smoothness are fantastic. But like i305 and other coasters it's poorly designed and requires trim brakes in places where they ought not be needed. Steel Curtain doesn't have trims and should never need them. It's design is perfect in a way that allows for it to carry speed throughout the inversions and entire layout. The transitions and flow are fantastic.
  12. Strip District for markets, restaurants, etc. Mt. Washington and the inclines for a phenomenal view of the city. Pittsburgh Pirates ballgame. PNC Park is beautiful. Stage AE for outdoor concerts. Check their schedule. Phipps Conservatory, National Aviary and Pittsburgh Zoo. Great experiences with all. Rivers Casino if that's your thing. Lawrenceville and South Side areas are great for food, beer, etc. Station Square has shopping and restaurants along with Gateway Clipper riverboat sight seeing. Pittsburgh Riverhounds if you're a soccer fan. Point State Park. History museum, large park and the large fountain at the point. Great for taking pictures of the rivers and city.
  13. It’s hard to say, some of the larger riders got on with no problem but we did see some having to get off. Also the picture of the players riding the coaster, a couple had to get off cause the restraint didn’t fit over them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk That's actually not 100% accurate. One player couldn't get on the first ride because they couldn't get the restraint locked properly. But he was able to get on the next ride. He's 6' 6" 330lbs which says alot about the seat design. They are supposed to install a test seat at the entrance but it's not installed yet. And the sign does state that there's a 300lb weight limit per seat though I don't know how they go about enforcing this.
  14. I'd say they nailed the pacing. It's impressive to see how close the real ride is to the animation.
  15. The restraints are fine. They don't lock against your shins like the RMC style.
  16. To add to PennStaters response, there are times when the top lot is open and the ski lift is not running. If it's busy enough I've seen the park run shuttle service down to the entrance.
  17. Black Widow has been seen testing this week and may open any day now.
  18. The park opens at 10:30 but rides open at 11am. So it allows time to enter a get in line. My route is usually Phantom, Black Widow, Exterminator, Swingshot, Thunderbolt, Aero 360, Racer, Jack Rabbit, Skyrocket. Might jump on other flats depending on time and crowds. Obviously Steel Curtain will be the big draw so that'll likely be the first place most people queue once it's open. As far as food, plenty to choose from but nothing that I'd consider a must have.
  19. We went back on Monday the 17th and the park had a very light crowd. Copperhead and Fury were both 15min or less. Other coasters were a walk on except Afterburn because they were only running a single train. Sent from my GM1917 using Tapatalk
  20. We were just there this past Saturday and it was packed. Copperhead was a 1.5hr wait and most of the other coasters were 45-60min average. We had planned to visit at for 2 days so we opted to not get FastLane. Sent from my GM1917 using Tapatalk
  21. Not my pic but thought it was worth sharing.
  22. I was there all day Saturday, unfortunately. Might have been the biggest crowd I've ever seen at CP personally. That combined with the chilly weather meant that I spent more time walking than riding. Sunday was a shorter day but warmer. And the crowd was considerably smaller. Was able to get on almost all of the coasters except for Magnum and Gatekeeper.
  23. Mummy at Universal Studios Orlando. But heading to Cedar Point this weekend so that'll change.
  24. The grips could be in a better position. They are too far forward and point straight up. Not sure if all of the seats are like this but it's difficult for both riders to grip the handles without busting their knuckles together. And I agree with those who have some discomfort with the leg restraints. I can tolerate it but it's not the most enjoyable. Especially towards the back with your hands up.
