  1. Typhoon-Most relaxing. Better "resort-like" ambiance and atmosphere. Best Wavepool. Less Stairs. Blizzard-Best theming, Much better slides in comparison to Typhoon, more slides, quality lazy river. Shade lacking on the mountain. Aquatica- Most modern and well-rounded waterpark in Orlando, best single attraction "Roa's Rapids." Banana Beach cookout a quality quick service deal. Wet N Wild: Best slides overall. Mediocre atmosphere.
  2. There is a hidden benefit to the BOG breakfast on days the park opens at nine, you could easily be one of the first in line for Seven Dwarves Mine Train by being in the park early, and then be able to hit Enchanted tales. Quite the start to the day and take out two big waits. Then if your coffee is kicked in you can go for the Rapunzel bathrooms!
  3. Hotwire or Priceline, it's not that hard to do and hasn't been since these websites appeared. In October my mom booked the 2.5 star Springhill with breakfast on I-Drive through name-your-own for 48 dollars a night. Stay on property at All Star or Pop, or just pick any 2.5 or better on those websites.
  4. ^Ouch on those prices. I'll just go to The Wave or off property, Hash House a Go Go. 20 bucks for a modest breakfast just hemmed my curiosity. Lunch remains the best value AND the best experience at Be Our Guest.
  5. Tempesto is unspeakably gaudy. I'll have to get used to it. It does look better from inside the park than out.
  6. I305 doesn't have pleasant restraints. After a 25 ride session last summer my shoulders felt like they had been wearing a camping pack for the next few days. The ride was way too good for it to matter much though.
  7. ^You mean last year's surprisingly rough and mediocre fail-of-the-year Thunderbolt? Those restraints are certainly a downgrade from the West Coast and German lapbar versions. Just another quiver for the Tempesto-haters club (that I belong to...).
  8. ^I have NEVER seen a park completely build a major coaster and not announce it until the park actually opens for the season. If it's a smart thing to do, they are the first to try it.
  9. 2017 has been the announced date since at least IAAPA 2014. -Frozen Ride at Epcot, Kong, Busch Gardens Tampa Dark Coaster: 2016 -Skyplex and Coaster, Avatar, Rivers of Light, Volcano Bay finished by 2017 Making 2017 a year to visit! 2015 is a year to visit LA or Virginia/NC/PA I think, with DIsneyland/USH/Magic Mountain/Knott's all getting big things and those states getting Fury, Tempesto, Impulse Knoebels, PKD Waterpark expansion, Fireball SFA, Laff Track Hershey...
  10. That's definitely too early for the Skyplex attraction. But mid-late September is perfect for the Halloween events at UNI, WDW BGT and SEA!
  11. The outer building for the Kong ride is basically finished. I wouldn't put hopes up for it opening before Christmas 2015 but that's a possibility, I'd say no later than April 2016 on it. And for anyone wondering, there are giant Volcanos of dirt being pushed around at both the Sapphire falls location and for Volcano Bay, the Volcano Bay one is already about 50 feet high.
  12. ^Oh whoops, switch GMR with Star Tours then. The Toy Story Fastpass would be the entire reason of going to DAK at 9 rather than DHS at 8AM.
  13. I think that parkeology's definition of "anything that moves" is a good choice. Constantly running "attraction shows" like tough to be a bug, MILF, tiki room or the like would add hours and hours to the run. American Adventure would take up like a whole hour by itself. I think making FP+ reservations for GMR 11-12, Tower 12-1, and TSM 1-2 would be the best choice. Then try to schedule additional at Epcot and then at MK. Try to do Seven Dwarves(no wait), Main Street Trolley (no wait), Splash Mountain (no wait), Tom Sawyer (no wait), (another attraction) and Riverboat (waiting for the boat) at least by 8:30, then go to DAK and be the first to Kilamanjaro (no wait), then Everest (single rider), Dinosaur (10-20 minutes), Primeval (10 minutes), Triceratops (5 minutes), Kali (no minutes), the Train (no wait) and out to hit the GMR fastpass shortly after 11 or Rockin' single rider if I/We arrived before 11. Fit in Star Tours then rush to Epcot. Soarin' would be a big ole B to fit in but everything else wouldn't be a bad strain, you could be back to MK by 7:30 if you were lucky with waits and a Soarin' reservation with only 19 rides to do before 6AM. I'm remembering that last year MK waits were pretty low after like 2 AM for the 24 hour day. And no, I wouldn't care about it not being official or not counting due to the 24 hour gimmick. That just gives enough time to actually eat food or walk at some point.
  14. The Voyage ushered in the Holiblog, which was really the forefront of social media back in 2005. The teasers for the ride had everyone in fits and the hype was unreal. Then the announcement and stats just blew people away. Definitely my all time favorite.
  15. Mk From 6-8:30, DAK from 9-11:30, DHS From Noonish-3ish, Epcot from 3ish to 8ish, MK the rest of the night. Help from friends and lots of energy drinks. It's been done before, in less time. Depending on how slammed the parks get there could be more time for other attractions at EPCOT and MK. http://www.parkeology.com/2013/06/teevtees-take-wdw47-one-week-later-a-day-that-will-live-in-infamy.html http://www.parkeology.com/wdw46-faq
  16. ^So Probably the Main Street Trolley and Splash Mountain would need to be ridden between 6AM and 8AM on that day to ride everything.
  17. I'd really like to take advantage of the 24 hour day...and try to ride every ride at WDW in one day. I wonder if anything closes down at MK during the AM hours.
  18. I'm calling it, this is B&M's best ever, this one or Nemesis. The speed on those latest test runs are insane.
  19. My wooden disappointment is the Beast. I had the roughest, most boring ride on it. I slammed my elbow on the train just before the second lift hill and it cut open a wound and started bleeding. Haven't ridden it again though I'd like to try again. My steel disappointment was Kawasemi. This ride was the one that solidified that I prefer bigger and taller rides. There are so many coasters with better sustained airtime just due to the hills being larger. It was a shorter, lamer version of other great Intamin Mega Coasters, and doesn't even crack my top 30 or so. Spent a lot of time going to that park when I could have done more Tokyo culture or a better amusement park.
  20. I thought the ride looked pretty fast other than some elements. Really fast for a first test run, which are normally criticized by the Internet as first runs on most coasters almost valley.
  21. You know, it actually got a little less thrilling I think. They changed the outside-tophat into a simple 180 curve. Definitely looks smoother trackwise , especially that final zero-G. Whatever though, this thing is such a ridiculous over-the-top fantasy coaster I think most of us are just rooting for construction to start rather than nitpicking anything about the impressive layout. I really hope it is and stays smooth, it's Intamin's first attempt at this train and track type no? Other manufacturers have been hit and miss with the euro-fighter style.
  22. That POV. Wow. I've been comparing this ride directly to Millenium Force since it was announced...it looks like this one has some more floater airtime and stronger hills and Millennium really just has the better setting and aesthetic layout. I think this could be one of the most GP-Pleasing, and enthusiast pleasing rides ever built. I don't think anyone will have this one outside of their personal top 20 after they ride it. It's definitely got everything legged-up on Leviathan. I can't wait to see it with all the landscaping finished, or hopefully in person this summer.
  23. Sure, there is an ACE event in Aug. The park use to do their own event, they say they are bringing it back. Not sure if its gonna be this season...it was called "coasterstock". Thanks! Sounds like a better bet would be to try and plan something for daily operation or one of the april weekends.
  24. Hey welcome. You picked a pretty good location, if you have any questions feel free to ask. Stay out of Pine Hills and you'll be good. And welcome to Orlando. What's your job at Uni if I may ask?
  25. Asking again, are there any enthusiast ERT events announced coming up this season for Carowinds?
