  1. I can see this occuring. The park set precedent last year when they re-named Looping Dragon to El Diablo, so I can certainly see them changing track colour and re-naming the ride. And count me among those who believe purple and green would look a hell of a lot better than red and yellow.
  2. ^ The fanboys would riots throughout the streets of Orange County if Disneyland ever even considered changing one of Walt's original lands.
  3. Definitely: GAdv Dorney Lake Compounce SFNE Hopefully: SFOT BGW Hershey Potentially: WDW
  4. Those things are adorable. I wonder if they'll have them on display at Camp Adventura like they had the other cub this past season. Guess it's an excuse for me to ride the safari again this coming year.
  5. Of the ones I've stayed at on WDW property: 1. Old Key West (my family's home resort. DVC since 1994! OLIVIA'S!) 2. Animal Kingdom Lodge (Savanna view on the concierge floor makes for a great stay) 3. Boardwalk (great atmosphere, walking distance to Epcot, the presence of Big River Grille) 4. Beach Club (best pool on property and walk to Epcot) 5. Wilderness Lodge (I loved the feeling of isolation you get) 6. Saratoga Springs (walking distance to Disney Springs, delicious food at The Turf Club) 7. All Star Whatever/Pop Century (these hotels all blurred together for me. Only stayed at them one night each on various trips) Honourable mention to Paradise Pier out in Anaheim. Just a modest room, but I loved the roof-top pool and the pizza from PCH Grill was delicious.
  6. 1. El Toro 2. Batman: The Ride 3. Nitro 4. Zumanjaro 5. Safari Offroad Adventure 6. Bizarro 7. Kingda Ka 8. Skull Mountain 9. Superman: Ultimate Flight 10. Runaway Mine Train 11. Green Lantern 12. Blackbeard 13. Buccaneer 14. Skyway 15. El Diablo 16. The Dark Knight
  7. As long as the park is in New Jersey, the answer is gonna be No.
  8. I want to also give mention to Skyrush and Storm Runner. The first time I rode Skyrush was at night, and it was absolutely incredible. Storm Runner is also great. You don't see the flying snake dive coming and it knocks you silly.
  9. ^ Probably not. I just thought the park might be open daily by the end of April due to how early Easter is this year.
  10. I'm going out on a limb here, but I'm sticking to this until evidence suggests otherwise: Dueling RMC T-Rex.
  11. Even if it were open a Friday I wouldn't be able to go. If I were to come to DFW it would be from a Monday-Wednesday. Thanks for the info. I hope to get out there eventually; it just would have been nice if it were this year.
  12. Damn, no daily ops in April? I won't be able to visit then. Probably won't even be going to Texas if I can't go to the park.
  13. Any word when the 2016 operating calendar is announced? I'm planning on making a trip to the DFW area in late April and would love to be able to visit the park.
  14. I'm with Robb. The only enthusiast's opinion that matters to me is my own.
  15. ^GL also hauled when I rode on Wednesday. Still hurt, but it was flying through the course.
  16. Boulder Dash. That ride hauls, and not being able to see the hills and dips coming leads to quite the thrill. Honourable mention to Nitro, which for some reason just seems better at night.
  17. Batman was running faster on Wednesday than I ever experienced it during the height of summer. My totally un-scientific guess is that because of the one train ops, the wheels don't have much time to cool down. Either way, as is, Batman is probably the second best coaster in the park.
  18. Nitro on Wednesday to end 2015. Thanks to a short off-season, I only have to wait until March to ride again.
  19. Yesterday was the opposite. It wasn't crowded by any means when I arrived at 3, but by 5:30-6, there was a steady stream of people leaving (as seen from the stairs on Green Lantern), with not one car coming through the toll booths.
  20. I accompanied JCoaster to the park yesterday, and I have to echo his sentiment. I'm on record on these boards doubting Great Adventure would be able to pull a Holiday event off, but after yesterday I'm gladly eating my words. The lights were very nice, the music was a nice touch, and it was overall a very enjoyable atmosphere. The coasters were running well, and crowds were light. One minor quibble I have is with Poinsetta Peak. The lights made it look like the Skull was bleeding from its eyes, and the ride itself still had its heavy rock and spooky noises soundtrack blasting. I thought they had decorated the inside of the ride as well.
  21. Thanks for the tip, I'm sold. And any weather is ice cream weather. I once drove through a blizzard to get a milkshake.
  22. Finally making my way down to the park tomorrow. The fact that I'll be able to ride a coaster in the North East on December 30th is still mind-blowing to me, and making my anticipation for this visit reach a fever pitch. Thanks, global warming!
  23. Kingda Ka. Multi-million dollar gimmick that bleeds GAdv's ride budget dry year after year.
