As Robb pointed out to me: While I'm glad you got on everything and things worked out for you in the park, I have to question why you would leave the "brand new highly anticipated ride" until the very last hour of they day??? That just seems so risky to me as new rides always tend to have issues, especially in their opening year. I can't tell you how many times we've been to a park with our group where we say "MAKE SURE YOU GET ON THE NEW RIDE FIRST...JUST IN CASE!" only to have something happen to it later which closes it for the rest of the day. Like I said, I'm glad you got on everything, and luck was on your side, but whoever advised you NOT to go to Colossus first gave you really poor advice. If it isn't one of your priorities then forget this.

Well unless six flags ever confirms that at a corporate or park level, I wouldn't really take that as 100% truth. Not sure at SF:GA but at SF:DK the gate attendants are barely trained high schoolers or collage aged kids. I mean, last time I was at SF:DK the guest relations had zero idea they we even doing ERT after the park closes and had to call up a park manager or something to find out what rides were to be opened. I think we are seeing the reason why you can get almost a year and a half of six flags for 51 bucks. As I said, should. Will they? Who knows, it is Six Flags after all. I'm not sure exactly what they see when they scan passes/scan fingers. Is it just a confirmation? A detail on the pass? Something that they started doing on the passes is rather then state which park they are from they just say a family of parks. I guess the only way to find out is e-mail or call them. (FYI, the person at GA was in their 30's.)

Guessing that was when it was down for a month while we put a new computer in last Summer. Kinda Ka, was not waiting 6 hours, instead marathoned Rolling Thunder. (Was not allowed outside that part of the park and the mine train was closed. So many coasters I missed including the Chiller and GASM. I redeemed myself with Viper in July) Oh, and El Toro was still under testing that day. Matterhorn Bobsleds, too scared when this was way back in the day.

Agreed, the first go around it broke down but maintenance was right there and it was running a minute later. Near the end of the day there was a screen issue. The ride both times as far as I could tell was operating flawlessly when I actually rode it. -

Yesterday was great, it barely broke into the 70's with low humidity. Of course that was northern Illinois. I'm going Saturday to and the forecast days the same with clouds. -

That was included on the first episode aired tonight; they blindfolded and earmuffed Kari while putting her on the Glenwood Canyon Flyer, took metrics, then repeated it without the blindfold and earmuffs to show what a difference there is when certain senses are missing. Yep, unfortunately I was not there the day they filmed. It's a fun ride, though I get sick sometime operating it. lol -

Most Chicago are schools are still out for this week, so you may have a good crowd at the park... Surprising, the Midwest is notorious for early August starts, I know a few are back in. (Hence why I'm meeting the others at 6.) Not worried about the Flash Pass running out so I guess I'll see when I get there. At least Goliath has a single rider line, sometimes.

You correct people saying it is an Alpine Coaster instead of an Alpine Slide. (Big Difference!) -

They were up at Glenwood Caverns earlier this Summer for this show. I believe it shows later this fall. Glad to see your consulting, hopefully some knowledge actually goes down. -

It's funny, I'm doing the exact same trip here in a few weeks but doing Great American instead of WoF. Haven't been to these parks in a few years so it will be fun. Can't wait to see what coaster you make 100 at St. Louis! -

Funny talking about Cliffhanger, just got off the shift running it. The phscyo dive is strong as ever. We don't run the second train as it is never busy enough. (Plus it is now used for parts.) Pushed through 1,600 today though. I'll post some photos here in a bit. -
I have always been a back seat guy over front, but I have heard Goliath is better in the back from others. I have ridden it in the very back seat and it was awesome, but not the front. The first drop is amazing in the back. Both the front and back are solid! If I can, I try to get front row rides first to "see" the coaster for the first time. With that said, I prefer Goliath in the back. Same thing, seeing that track is a thing of beauty. I did front for my first RMC (Rattler) and it really is something. (The back though hands down beat the front with all that ejector air.)

Going either Saturday 8/22 or Sunday 8/23, which day is recommend? -
I went there on a Friday and it seems they open up other rides as well closer to opening. Not many people in the park so I'd say it would be worth it. Hey, thanks for the reply. What time did.they open up the parking lot? I am going solo that day, just for the ERT, really. Plan to marathon TC, get a few rides on Scream, hit Superman, then get out of Dodge before it gets crowded. Not sure, probably right before ERT starts, wouldn't worry to much about that as I said not many people there.
