Still 45 for Maverick, maybe a tad longer. I've been watching TTD as well but no life. However the temp is going up so there is hope. (Might also explain the longer lines.) -

Can you give some summaries of the line there? What does TTD and Maverick and MF look like. Its slightly chilly at 13 degrees celcius, so that would probably drive some people away but if I would make a prediction, TTD, Maverick, and MF should be under 30-45 minutes? Am I right? I was just about to post that TTD is down currently but it looks like they are ready to test. MF: We were on in 30, but it's been fluctuating up to 60. Maverick: Apps says 60, haven't made it back that far yet. Ya Raptor has been going pretty often. -

So not bad so far. The school groups aren't too bad. Valravn has a good lime but besides that nothing too bad. -

Thanks for the heads up on physics week, we are heading in tomorrow (or here in about 9 hours as the case may be), I'll make sure to to post a summary if possible. -
What's your closest coaster?
ALT2870 replied to FishyFish's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
You live down in Junction? Obliviously for me it is only across town. (And I work there. ) Other then that we are pretty coasterless out here. -
Hey guys, well never thought I would drag this thread up again to TR time, but I digress. Anyway, Kentucky Kingdom will not be open on the 23rd as far as I know and they know. (I e-mailed them.) Long story short a school day when I looked up the calendar was the 23rd, go back last week and that day is no longer open to the public. Then I sent the e-mail and smartly enough they have taken that day out completely. I doubt they will choose to make that a public day in the end. That being said, since I have airline tickets purposely booked so I could go to Louisville that day, I'm thinking of a few options. 1.) Head back to Holiday World. Do anything I missed, ex waterpark 2.) Local Louisville attractions, if you've been or a local, name your favorites 3.) Something outside city limits, cave tour? My flight gets in at 10AM and I need to be back at the airport by 6:30PM.

SFA, maybe the ride hates you. Haven't had any problems with SFSTL on, but SFOT, don't get me started. Anyway, my favorite thing about these clones so far is that they are each different. I think it's great regardless of the one you go to that it will be at least somewhat unique. -
Platinum gives double rides without leaving your seat on all but Goliath, Giant Drop and Vertical Velocity and allows you to reserve Goliath twice in a day. You cannot reserve Goliath with a Gold. Also Gold is 50% wait time and Platinum is 90% reduced wait time. That's not true, and not even Six Flags claims that. The claim is "up to 50%" and "up to 90%." It's not a key difference. All I'm going to say on a BAFF day that it was pretty much instantaneous when choosing a new ride. (So yes, do go with the platinum, it worked out amazing, plus I skipped that Goliath line for Goliath. And choose a new ride right after they scan your qbot for maximum efficiency and ride time.)

Didn't you hear? They are taking the launch from the demolished Lightning Rod and putting it on Thunderbird. Sure you might not make it every once in a while but that's the fun part. -

I'm only going for 1 day, and that day is Monday May 16th! I am so stoked, and I'm hoping a Monday will be less busy! That's crazy, I'm flying in that night and going the next day. I'm not seeing any events for my day or your day and being schools are in session that week I figure it wouldn't be an issue. However I have purchased a season pass while you are going for the one day ticket and only visit every 5 years. Doing the math you are saving ten dollars by buying advanced. I guess it is up to you is that worth it or not. (Maybe see how fast they sell out?) Personally I would wait until arriving. Hope that helps. -

If I am not mistaken, a week or so before the park opens, they start season pass processing. Edit: Took 3 seconds to find this on the website. https://www.cedarpoint.com/hours-directions/season-pass-processing?mobile=0 I'd contact the park in a few weeks, and you should be able to get in touch with someone is Guest Services who knows more. I know Kings Island does processing before opening day I saw that but I'm not a local unfortunately, I'm flying in the night before well after the park closes. It appears the center is outside the park too. (I haven't actually done a pass like this for a while since I go to Six Flags parks.) Thanks guys guess I'll be calling next month. -

So probably an obvious stupid question coming this way. Clearly have to activate season pass by going to activation center, but I can still do the early entry correct? (It's a Platinum Pass.) -

Six Flags St. Louis is the only park completely owned by Six Flags. I think that says a lot about the park in the fact they haven't been sold out. Kudos to them. -

Took a look and definitely a thing for the locals which is good. Basically you are buying ERT, some behind the scenes tours, and on ride video. (Though it doesn't clarify if that cost extra which I would assume it does.) -

THIS!!! THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS!!!!!! Agreed on the "even if the park has a good track record" comment. Look, here's a ProTip for you - No one is going to gain any bonus points by being one of the "first" to ride something. So if the park in question requires a flight or significant car ride, taking time off work, etc, etc.... we strongly recommend waiting until the ride is open, has had a chance to break in (it's usually better then anyway) as it will greater guarantee you will get to ride that coaster that is part of your goal going to the park. I plan on being there in July. I'm assuming the ride would have had plenty of time to warm itself up by then! I don't think this post can be quoted enough. (Okay, maybe it can.) I'm going at the end of May. Will it be open? Hopefully. If not, I will still go. It looks like an amazing place to visit, LR or not. -

For those complaining think about this, not every park got this. (Granted that is only a couple of parks.) But granted I think this is an interesting idea. Regardless what you think of the coaster/idea, why not try it out? You have nothing to loose unless you really hate it that much. Also, for those on the name, I personally consider the coaster and the VR to be separate. You can either ride Ninja, or ride The New Revolution. -
Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
ALT2870 replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
So co-worker and I talking about coasters, then Son of Beast comes up and she thinks it is still open. Refuses to believe me that it is closed and demolished so I have to look it up for her. Needless to say she was pretty set on that it was still there and open. (At the same time she easily believed that the thing destroyed itself once I told her why it closed. So I guess I partly won. ) -

I'm sure there's a lot more. It's just a hard topic to think of on the spot. S&S air launched coasters are another example; Dodonpa is the only one that they got dialed in. Powder Keg as well. -

That's not something that can really be explained in words. It's a pretty broad question. I will say this though, it's definitely the "token" ride to work. Tons and tons of fun. It definitely worked my upper body strength but also my legs and glutes significantly. Fantastic ride! I actually found a video about it on Youtube Interestingly, a motor runs the cable all around the course and their are guide wheels to support the cable at each support structure. No matter how much weight/vehicles there is on the course, there are counter weights that give the cable the right amount of tension + slack. I just freestyled that based off memory I got from watching the video once, so take it with a grain of salt. However, its interesting to say the least. I do run a Poma Lietner pulse gondola, so I can give you some basics on a how a lift works. Not sure how much would apply to a sky ride though. (Not to mention CP probably has their own procedures, but at least you could go in knowing some.) Let me know via PM. -

Ninja at SFMM, the way it hugs the ground and the pacing is fantastic.
