  1. So there's that. In regards to the management's lack of attention to the guest parking lot, that lot and the location of the management offices on SFMM property could not be further away from each other. Absent any sort of personal initiative, they'd have to have a darn good reason for going all the way out to the parking lot. Trash cans most likely would not qualify, though it'd be really nice if Neal, or someone else in park management, would react with personal initiative to the photo posted a couple of pages ago and at least fix that. I would have to lie about downtime at Superman to get my supervisors to come up the hill...doesn't sound like anything has changed in 15 years i dont blame them, that hill is ridiculous
  2. They aren't identical colors at all. Manta has light/sky blue supports with royal blue track. Electric Eel has sea foam supports and pale blue track. That was poor wording on my part. I guess I should have said “similar” since I knew somebody was going to correct me.
  3. I'll admit that this is a busy week, but here are the posted wait times from Queue Times for the last few days. 12/26: 70 Minutes 12/27: 70 Minutes 12/28: 100 Minutes 12/29: 100 Minutes 12:30: 100 Minutes 12/31: 70 Minutes 1/1: 55 Minutes ... seems like it's a very popular ride with everyone besides whiny coaster enthusiasts. You mean like X2?
  4. I agree with you on riddler’s Revenge, that ride is just straight up trash, but Scream is probably my favorite floorless. I love the layout and I find it to be glass smooth. Riddler is just headbashing for the whole ride. No thanks. To each his own, but Scream has always been the one that is trash IMO. Especially after riding Bizarro, SKC, and Dominator, those rides put Scream to shame like a hooker in church.
  5. I too hope the event continues in the future, it's always fun reading trip reports from the event...people riding Nitro and Batman in 20 degrees, crazy!
  6. WW obviously doesn't have to worry about plumbing as RR would. WW literally can just be plopped and just have a station build around it. Isn't WW going to be over water as well? They've made some quick work of Railblazer this week, amazing how fast these Raptors can be erected.
  7. It's been a while, but to their credit, I wouldn't really want them on in the winter months anyway. If it were like USH, where they turn off the water effects in the winter season, I'd be fine with that. They have been off the entire 3 years I have had a membership. No matter the season. You are so negative. They were on this past summer, and they always turn them off when it’s not summer. If you want water, go on Jet Stream which is still open. He hates MM, i just gloss over whenever he posts about the park
  8. True since SFFT seems to be the test park, maybe this is the start of a whole new round of dark rides. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out
  9. “The current location will become the future home to the latest dark ride innovation later in 2018.” Sounds a lot like the marketing verbiage used for Justice League dark rides.
  10. The one that sticks out the most is they've already started the Raven turn on Raiblazer, whereas WW it was one of final elements they installed.
  11. Being born and raised in Southern California, all of this sounds like a nightmare
  12. Been watching Railblazer construction on the web cam, seems like they're putting it together in a slightly different order than WW.
  13. KD at one point had 4 launch coasters, nothing is out of the realm of possibility
  14. Ride Electricians and Mechanics would be striking too, not just the helper positions. Are they actually going to walk? That was the huge point of contention on the workers' side that led to the 15 year battle over bringing the part-timers into the same bargaining agreement in the first place. Obviously a lot has changed since I left but when I worked there the majority of those workers wouldn't have honored/supported a strike for part-timer benefits. IAM also has very bad timing with their agreement. With most of SF's parks either closed or in limited operation they have a fairly large pool of workers to pull (a tactic SF has used before). Yes, the maintenance workers aren't happy that they lost their one guaranteed weekend day as well as not getting a higher top level rate even though the base rate is keeping pace with minimum wage. The rest of the "seasonal" workers (who actually do 40 hour weeks for the most part) weren't asking for a crazy pay rate or crazy benefits, but Six Flags played hardball and gave all of them literally nothing extra from what they already had being outside of the union. This is a classic case of whoever blinks first loses. Six Flags has already started to bring in temp labor to "learn the job" of the workers who voted to strike. However there is an emergency negotiation tomorrow and I don't think Six Flags necessarily wants the black eye of workers striking right at the very beginning of their 365 push. And the vast majority of the union workers did vote to strike as nobody is happy with the contract they offered, so yes, if nothing changes there will actually be a strike. Oh and Neil Thurman will be park president effective January 1st; Bonnie is moving into a corporate role with the company. Neil has really jumped around these last few years but it will be nice to see him back at Magic Mountain again, his home for quite a few years after Jay Thomas brought him over from Kentucky Kingdom. I loved Bonnie, has such great energy.
  15. I'm surprised Joker is operating during HITP, didn't they have a lot of problems with it last year?
  16. Interesting, so a ground up hybrid? Or possibly the structure will be all steel? Can't wait until more details release about this one. HOW ARE THEY PAYING FOR ALL THESE RIDES?!!?!?
  17. 10 years ago when Renegade was added, there was a rumor that Cedar Fair bought or had a deal for 3 GCI coasters and Dorney was going to get the 2nd one in 2008 until Cedar Fair decided to send Possessed to the park instead and then all the used rides started being added and that Dorney's planned GCI went to Worlds of Fun. I don't know how true any of that is though. Is this another "Over Georgia took St Louis' hyper" type of situation?
  18. A Raptor, Eurofighter, or a large flat would all be a great addition. Pretty much anything replacing an old school Vekoma is an upgrade. Now the new stuff Vekoma has been putting out is hotness, hope to see some of those stateside.
  19. Makes sense to drop the "California", I'd guess the majority of patrons have no idea there's another Great America 2,000 miles away. No need to distinguish it, I hope they just keep it as Great America.
  20. I feel like these will be the next Boomerang, with their low cost, quick contsruction, compact size, and high marketability, parks will probably be lining up to get these.
  21. I still have yet to try one of these, but it's on the bucket list for sure
