Even during Fright Fest Sundays at SFGAdv are not crowded at all, so I think a sunday in June will be an amazing day to go. For what its worth, I was at the park on Sunday May 18th and Sunday June 1st and they were two of the most crowded days Ive seen at the park. With that said, Sunday will be likely less crowded than Saturday.

Oh and one last thing about yesterday, on my first ride on ET (2nd to last row) they did basically the opposite of stapling me in, I had so much space between my legs and the lapbar, I can't believe the sensors actually let me ride. So I was getting INSANE ejector air on the first drop, the hills, and the RT drop. Today my upper thighs are insanely sore, and a little discolored. Toro gave me lapbar thighs! lol (Thanks jesus for the seatbelt) Anyone else ever get bruised by a lapbar/coaster?

^^ Its a great park with some great coasters, you will have fun. My opinion is who needs KK when you have Toro, Nitro, Bizarro, Superman, Batman, etc. Also Runaway Mine Train and Skull Mountain are definitely worth checking out! As discussed here prior, they will run everything in the rain unless there is lightning. Let us know what you think!

Going to parks alone?
boldikus replied to alilstronger's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have tossed around the idea of going to SFGAdv alone but luckily have found someone to go with me every time so far this year. Because I live and work in center city Philly I don't drive, so Id have to take the bus up to SFGAdv and what holds me back from going alone is there aren't busses running back and forth all day, just a few up in the morning and a few back to Philly in the evening. I guess I dont like the idea of going up alone and then being stuck there all day til I can get a bus home in the evening. If anyone is ever driving up from Philly (or to any of the other local parks) and is looking for a riding partner hit me up, I'm always down to go if I don't have other plans! Also I need to meet other enthusiasts, my friends think Ive lost my mind lol. I have done Moreys alone a million times, as my folks live nearby and usually no one wants to ride so I just bike up to the piers, get a few rides in and go back to the 'rents place. -
Id only ridden it twice before, and the most recent of those was last September, and I definitely got banged up that ride. Same with my buddy who rode it that day with me. We both hated it. Anyone who I've been back to the park with this year so far has also avoided it and agreed it was one of their least favorites in the park. BUT after constantly reading such high praise from you and a few others on here I was determined to do it again the last few times I was there but just didnt feel like it was worth the wait. I wanted to eat my words after I rode it yesterday, I really enjoyed it. Was definitely one of the days highlights. Oh and El Toro ran INSANELY fast later in the day compared to our morning rides. Sat in same seat (second to last) on all three rides so we could not have been imagining it. Our last ride on it was around 4:30 and holy jesus it was hauling ass! I overheard quite a few people gushing over El Toro throughout the day, its such an amazing ride.

What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?
boldikus replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
the ridiculously amazing and undeservedly underrated Skull Mountain @ SFGAdv. -
Did make it to the park today, only my bro-in-law swapped out in place for my sister who couldn't come. No matter, bro-in-law was up for a day of riding. Parked by 10am and were through security and main gate insanely fast, skipped the rope drop w/ my pass and headed right over to El Toro for the 2nd train of the day. Got in two rides with no wait at all, then popped over S:UF before lines got too bad and it rode great. Love this coaster. Actually wound up getting STUCK on the break run, of all places. Probs with the dispatch in front of us. Only about 10 minutes, but of all the rides to be stuck on all day today? Ugh. Headed toward Batman and line was almost out to the "garden" but I really wanted to ride as I hadn't the last few times we've been at the park. So we waited about 20 mins and it rode great. We didn't care where we sat, station was a shitshow so sat row 5 in center right side. Much less headbanging than I remembered and so incredible fast paced and downright intense. Great finish too. This is probably fantastic at night. After we went for Nitro and saw the line almost out the front gate. Is it flash pass time? Looks like it. First off do you have to sit through that movie and all every time you get a FP? Are they for real with this? WTF. Whatever, after this the day got pretty great. So nice to not have to wait. Totally took the advice from here to reserve next ride right after we'd pass the FP attendant for a given ride. We bounced around a lot but got a good amount of riding in. Also lots of walking. I'll sleep good tonight. Bro-in-law hadn't been to the park in years so we tried to get on nearly everything. He's always wanted to ride Kingda Ka but we didn't see it running all morning or afternoon. He was super bummed. Anytime he's been to the park since its been there he says it is closed. While in line for Green Lantern around 5:00 Im scrolling through to reserve our next ride and KK pops up on the FP - for 15 minutes from then! PERFECT. Then we see it running. Quick ride on GL then run right over and right on. So, he got to ride. Well we did. However, he got to ride twice. When we went to get off (the first time) his restrain wouldnt open. Mine did. I stood up to get off. I motioned to the op that his wouldnt open. She ignored me and walked away. I then realized they were letting Platinum FPers pick their seats and ride OP must have thought he was one and let him stay. I stepped back to not get closed in the air gates, some random dude sits down next to him, and she walks by and staples him in for 2nd ride!! I just laughed and waved "Enjoy, I'll wait for ya!" Total fluke 2nd ride he got. On his first ever ride. He loved it. I can give or take KK, its a very intense one trick pony to me. Give me Nitro or El Toro any day over KK. Was cool to ride it today tho. My first ride of the season. That launch is just nuts. I got some nice floater airtime on the camel hump, I have to say. After this we bounced around until finally around 7pm we decided we were just tired and sick of weaving in and out of huge crowds as we hopped from one ride to the other. Overall it was a GREAT day with a ton of riding. Super hot and really crowded. Probably my last weekend day til after the summer. nitro 2x el toro 3x kingda ka 1x superman 2x bizarro 1x batman 1x green lantern 1x skull mountain 1x log flume 1x Also: Skull Mountain is totally underrated and so much fun. I laugh so hard every time I ride this ridiculous thing and today was no different. I think its just the pitch black darkness but it just makes it so insanely intense yet hilarious. Great ride to end the day with. I didnt bring my camera so no pics except one that my bro-in-law took of me with two of my favorite things: my FP and my leinenkugel summer shandy that was sooooo good it honestly tasted like lemonade. Additional sidenotes: Bizarro crew was pretty fast today. Also the S:UF crew were hustling! Before we got stuck I was surprised to see them cranking out trains before the previous hit the break run, quite a few times. Then we got stuck lol.

A little off topic and pardon me for sounding dumb but I have a few questions about Flash Pass. Taking my sister this Sunday and using my "Bring a Friend Free" and after the lines two Sundays ago and reports of it being insanely crowded this past Sunday, I am likely going to purchase my first Flash Pass if the lines are that bad again. I figure I have gone 3xs already so my Season Pass has already paid for itself once over, so why not splurge instead of just giving up and leaving like we did two weeks ago? However, Ive never bought a FP before! Yeah I know - I am a grin and bare it type of guy when it comes to lines, or I try to go when no one is there! So QUESTIONS. I can see you can buy the FPs online but unless I'm mistaken the prices vary depending on the days attendance - any truth to this? Wouldn't it make the most sense to wait and buy them in the park in case lines aren't bad and we don't need them? Does the price go up throughout the day? Also I noticed I have a one time "add friend to Flash Pass for free" as part of my SP, I am assuming I can use this and my "Bring a Friend Free" on the same visit? That would be ideal. What's the story morning glory? And which of the three FP tiers sit he best value? Anyone care to enlighten this FP newbie? This will probably the be the last weekend day I go until after the summer so really don't want to spend it standing in line!

^ In my experience Nitro is best experienced in the back row on either far left or right hand side. The way you get yanked over the first drop, the drop after the mcbr, and then the bunny hops while in the back of the train makes up for lack of airtime on the big hills that you can only get seated toward the front of the train. Ive only done front row once as I never feel like waiting for it and it felt faster than any other time I've ridden it. I just can't imagine going to the park and sitting around for 6 hours when Nitro is right there. Or ET. I would have just rode either all day til KK opened.

I'm sorry, I swore I read that the possible need for non-simultaneous runs of Zumanjaro and KK would be because of power issues. And again of course I'm assuming that's some BS rumor someone pulled out of their ass due to the power issues w/ Chiller. I wasn't referencing any safety issues. But since you mentioned it, I don't see how they couldn't have considered a safety issue before/when they made the investment of the new ride.

As far as I know that's only a rumor, likely due to the fact that they had issues with Chiller's trains running simultaneously. I can't imagine, especially after the Chiller issues, that they would have made the investment in Zumanjaro if they couldn't run it while running the ride it is attached to, arguably the most popular ride in the park. Not to mention I'm sure the "visual effect" of the two rides running simultaneously was part of the reason for installing it there, similar to SM:EFK/LL:DOD.
