I'm really surprised by so much speculation of a ride opening in that spot between Toro and Ka. I guess those who think that haven't been back in that area lately? With the Zumanjaro queue back there they've completely filled it with either fresh, new grass or some sort of landscaping. I highly doubt they would have just spent the money to put all of that greenery there to rip it back up and put new rides in there. There is just not that much space back there unless they were to expand into the old safari entrance and that would require tree removal, the township always has huge issues with this. They have all of this potentially open/unused space in Old Country/Movie Town. Not to mention the lakefront could use some development. I highly highly highly highly doubt anything is going between Toro/Zum/Ka. I'd love it if we got another coaster but something tells me its just going to be a large new flat or package of small flats.

Great reports and photos. Enjoying this thread.

So apparently Saturday is National Roller Coaster Day. Looks like Six Flags is doing a promo with this in mind, but a google search reveals links to posts about how this has been a thing since the 80's. Does anyone here care about it? Anyone doing anything for it? I've coincidentally scheduled a day at SFGAdv on Friday w/ my sister, who was my original coaster buddy when we were kids. Stoked. And then I happen to be going to see my folks in Wildwood on Saturday, so I'll likely be at Morey's on Saturday at some point. So it looks like I'm making a weekend out of it. Sorry if there is a thread about this already, I searched.

Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread

I love the psychedelic look of it. Almost a bit creepy too! Agreed 100%. Hopefully the $14 million goes a long way into the queue and the effects/glow stuff. Also I love the name. Coaster names are always so serious and masculine, I like that this is campy/kitschy. It totally fits the theme. -

New Order - Age of Consent

SFGAdv has plenty of areas already existing within the park (Old Country, for example) that need to be rehabbed before they even think about expanding any further. Besides, the park is already so expensive as it is. I think that any rumors about future part expansion like this evolve strictly out of wishful thinking. Not to mention the problem the township always has with the park removing trees, and they'd have to in order to develop back there. The have a ton of empty space in the Old Country area that wouldn't require much tree removal, if any, and its an area that is screaming for an update/some additions.

If all goes according to plan, this Friday will make my 7th trip to the park this year. Every time I have gone this year I've hawked http://www.wunderground.com/ the week leading up to it and every single time the forecast on there was 99.9% correct. (search for Jackson, NJ, scroll down and it gives you an hourly breakdown of each day of the week). As of right now Wednesday looks like mostly thunderstorms during daytime, with clearing in the evening, and as stated here and elsewhere SFGAdv will run everything in rain (save for KA) unless its thunderstorms. :/ Lucky for me Friday looks perfect (!!), so I see a flash pass in my near future.

^ I agree to an extent but the fact that the ride has been closed BUT not demolished kind of gives it away, no? Also, I doubt that these bits of steel going in (and RMC trucks spotted on site) are really going to alert the general public to what they are doing so of course SF are still going to hold off and do their "big reveal" later this month.

This might be better aimed at the dudes over at GAH, but can anyone remember a year when SFGAdv did absolutely nothing in terms of new attractions? Is it weird that a ton of parks have begun hinting at 2015, some have announced already, or people have at least noticed work going on to warrant some speculation, but that with GAdv we have absolutely nothing at this point? They usually announce late August if I am correct, right? I guess I could just be jumping the gun, and part of me doesn't even care if we get anything new.

Bizarro has U-bars, no? With the shin bar? At 6'2 that makes me worried I wouldn't fit. I can't speak for Bizarro as I haven't ridden it but I've seen my fair share of El Toro walk of shames (almost every time I ride) and we figured out that it has less to do with the size of ones belly/overall girth, and more to do with the largeness of their thighs and ass keeping the bar from not going down far enough. I have only ever felt Kingda Ka was an issue for me size wise, the OTSRs were very tight (gave me light bruises on shoulders last time I rode) but I fit.

You Might Be A Coaster Nerd If....

Last weekend the missus and I were in the back of my Dad's SUV on the way to a family function and we were both commenting on the airtime we were getting over every little bump. -
^ Yeah I'd say its a shoe-in at this point. Stoked as this will likely be my first RMC since it's kiiiinda close to me and I don't see myself getting to Texas, Chicago or SDC anytime soon. I had planned on trying to get up to SFNE for the Bizarro credit, but doesn't seem like it's gonna happen in 2014 so I'm going to make this a definite destination for 2015.

I do . Actually I'll clarify- I spoke fluent d&b as a teenager going to parties, but I couldn't tell you the name of any new or popular current d&b djs. I still bust out the old mix tapes every now and again to reminisce- Odi, LTJ Bukem, 187... good times. Word up! Bukem has been a huge influence on me, I've actually been lucky enough to open for him and hang w/ him at a few shows back in the 90's. Carlos (Odi) always holds it down as well. Haven't heard the name 187 in ages, lol. As far a current DJ's, while there are a lot of young bucks, a lot of the old heads still lay it down - Bukem, Trace, Grooverider, Dieselboy, Ak1200, Dara, they are all still doing their thing.

Personally, Id sooner do Bizarro, Batman, Superman etc than KK. I would like to try Dragster to compare. I did Zumanjaro on the 16th, last time I was there. I don't like drop rides much but since I had FP I did it, since I knew I wouldn't wait for it any other time. The line had to be 2-3+ hours (around 4pm on a Wednesday), but it was nice to walk right on.

Go for the second row, pretty much the same ride as the first with a similar wait to other rows. Even though the people that wait longer for the front row will try to tell you how much better their ride was. In that case, my first ride (last year) was in the 2nd row. We went for the front but the 2nd row had no wait so we did that instead. So, there you have it. This year Ive sat in the middle once and the very back once last time I was @ the park and that was INSANE (not really in a good way). Any way you cut it, its not worth waiting an hour for 20 seconds of ride time IMO. You guys enjoy, I'll be over in the line for Toro/Nitro.
