  1. I never got to ride Lazer but my aunt who grew up near the park and my fiance who used to visit frequently both said it was their absolute favorite in the park. It looks pretty awesome from videos. As far as the woodie, I know it is extremely unlikely but I'd love a smaller, compact Intamin prefab ala Balder. It would be perfect for this park.
  2. Can someone tell me how early in the season this park typically opens? My sister just moved close by so I'm trying to plan a trip to stay with her (and hit up this park) while I'm there. Shooting for very early spring. They open in March?
  3. I posted about this earlier in the thread when that rendering first surfaced. When you consider that super loop is 70 feet tall and Toro's first camelback is 112 feet, it is absolutely laughable.
  4. Thanks for these awesome, humorous reports. Very funny and also informative. Haven't been to Knoebels but this only makes me want to go even more! Maybe in 2015...
  5. This blows so hard, I would have been livid. On my many visits to the park this season I have a ritual where I hit Toro first, mainly so that if its running in the morning and goes down for whatever reason at least I got a ride on it. I usually try to hit it last too just to leave on the highest note possible. Im wondering if the closing early due to attendance is because they employ so many more people during fright fest (scare actors on top of all the regular employees) so maybe since crowds were so low it was hard for them to afford to pay all the extras. Either way you cut it, thats lame as f*ck. We are planning on going up Friday night, and I see its supposed to rain so my hope is it keeps people a way. I have a poncho I have yet to use this season so I plan to break that out get as many rides on Toro as I can, since this will likely be my last trip to the park this year. Also, I've never ridden Toro in the rain and Ive heard it runs even faster, tho I dont know how thats possible. But I'm excited to see for myself!
  6. Though the park could really use a newer woodie imo (Thunderhawk is awful), Flying Scooters and a Disk-o sound great to me!
  7. Juan Maclean - Feel Like Movin
  8. THIS. So much so that the friends I were with went back on and I wouldn't do it.
  9. When your buddy randomly sends you this picture and your first thought is...
  10. I love these reports!!
  11. I actually think the drop tower with the best "holy sh!t" moment of anticipation is Demon Drop. I don't know why, but nothing else comes close. You are bumming me out that I forgot about Demon Drop this past weekend, even tho I did Stuntmans FreeFall years ago. Dominator was my first S&S and the drop side was probably my biggest Oh Sh!t moment of the entire day at Dorney.
  12. http://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news/national-international/One-Person-Hurt-at-Six-Flags-America-during-Fright-Fest-277359381.html One of the kids in the fight is in a coma.
  13. Interpol - Anywhere
  14. My bro did say that when he rode Banshee earlier this year it felt the same.
  15. We did see that White Water Landing was closed (as is the Water Park), so that played a part in assuming the log flume was closed. We got to the park just @ 5pm so we would have missed it anyway. Not to mention while it wasnt cold, it was a little chilly later in the night so we weren't exactly itching for water rides.
  16. Yeah, another one that we missed. Never made it back there and assumed it was closed (I guess since GAdv closes theirs after Labor Day). Yet another reason to visit the park in 2015.
  17. I hated drop rides until earlier this year but Ive done a few this season so I'll rank them from favorite to least. Zumanjaro - I had done a few drops before this but I rode this (alone) when it first opened as sort of a bucket list challenge to myself. Nothing compares. Its not the most forceful drop, at least not when you first start falling, but the views are incredible, the height is mind blowing and the drop lasts for what feels like forever, increasing in speed as you fall. Dominator (Dorney) - Just did this Saturday and while we did the launch side first, and it was fun, we were really blown away by how forceful the drop side was. I almost checked my shorts afterwards. Atmosfear (Wildwood) - Did this a few years ago when still in my anti-drop ride stance and hated it but did it again this year after Zumanjaro to compare. Similar to Voodoo, s/w forceful but feels really short. This has the edge over Voodoo simply for the view from up top. Voodoo Drop (SFA) - Somewhat forceful, but very short drop. Good enough to do more than once.
  18. ^ ^ I had every intention of riding it, I used to love FreeFall @ GAdv as a kid. We even spotted it running from the lot while walking in but we just totally forgot about it, and never wandered back to that area. I didn't even realize it til Sunday morning, to which my bro-in-law replied "Guess that means we have to go back!"
  19. Possessed @ Dorney, late Saturday night. So good.
  20. Oh man what a bummer. Would have been great to meet up with you!
  21. On our last ride on Possessed, last ride of the night, we waited for 2nd row in front of a probably 10 year old girl and what was likely her grandfather. She was totally excited and when the cycle in front of us started he remarked that it "looks like its going 100 mph" and was leery of riding. He asked if we had ridden it and we told him that yes, this was our fourth ride of the day which sent him into nervous laughter. After we rode we asked him what he thought and he responded it was "amazing, like going to church". (!!) We laughed and were on our way, assuming he meant like a religious experience lmao. We agreed.
  22. Thanks for all the pro-tips, guys. Turned out that we had a great night.
