  1. ^Even on announcement day, there wasn't too much hype. Many were confused and mad that Carowinds was adding a 2nd B&M speed coaster. No one here likes Intimidator and Afterburn is the only attraction worth coming to the park. I'm just gonna have to realize that the only thing I have to be proud of on this site is Afterburn (I still love you Intimidator, even though no one else does). *EDIT: By "here", I mean on TPR, not in the Charlotte area.
  2. I thought that maybe the National Roller Coaster museum was the buyer. I'm probably just spewing crap though.
  3. No, apparently no one is excited about Fury 325, so this is completely normal.
  4. The only thing that needs to be done to Iron Dragon is lowering the height requirement. Now let's change the subject before the thread turns into an argument about whether Iron Dragon is good or not.
  5. I think the Vortex at CGA gets a worse rep than Vortex at Carowinds. I don't have a problem with Stand-ups, but from what I've read on this forum, some think that it's OK but still a stand-up. [EDIT] referring to Vortex at Carowinds as the OK stand-up.
  6. I think this is a pretty good read. It's FULL of werid GP comments. Though the credibility of some of these situations is questionable: http://notalwaysright.com/tag/theme-park My favorite one: (I work in a burger stand) Me: “Welcome, what can I get for you?” Lady: “I would like a cheeseburger with no cheese.” Me: “Umm…would you just like a hamburger?” Lady: “No. I would like specifically a cheeseburger with no cheese.” Me: “Are you sure? A cheeseburger is 25 cents more than a hamburger.” Lady: “Yes, I’m sure.”
  7. Nice Update! I can't wait to see what the 80's bring!
  8. It's still better than Corkscrew, and a majority of the coasters at CP. Vekoma trains for Corkscrew. That is all.
  9. That's also true. Still I think that dominator, SKC, medusa (SFDK) and scream are their only rides with taller vertical loops, right? You forgot YOLOCoaster with the world's tallest vertical loop.
  10. Shrek is love, Shrek is life. {EDIT] Dang, someone beat me to it! It's all ogre now.
  11. I've only been to SFoG, and I went to Darien Lake in '09 (so it wasn't a Six Flags park). SFoG has a great coaster selection, and you gotta love those trees! They don't have to many flat rides but the one I did go on I really enjoyed. Acrophobia is both terrifying and amazing. Plus I love the staff working it (singing songs, teasing people about when the drop will come). Goliath had fast staff, and is tied with Intimidator at Carowinds as my favorite B&M hyper. Daredevil Dive was fun, but the capacity was awful. Mindbender is great! I hadn't payed much attention to this coaster, so it was a pleasant surprise. Dahlonega Mine is my favorite Mine Train (still gotta love those trees!). GASM is my favorite woodie (decent airtime). S:UF was pretty fun. Unlike it's clones, this interacts with the terrain which makes it a very fun experience. I didn't get to ride Scorcher (Still kicking myself for not reading up on this park), or Batman. I also missed Georgia Cyclone. Not to sad about Ninja though.
  12. ^The new update is finished? Great! Can't wait to see people make inverts!
  13. Ah, sarcasm is funny. I thought that the story was that the cost was higher for the track per feet and that Intamin had a cheaper price. Of course I could be wrong and I might just be spewing crap out of my mouth.
  14. Intimidator focuses on AIRTIME but Fury 325 focuses on SPEED Are The Raven and The Voyage the same because they are both wooden coasters?
  15. I just watched the NTAG media day video. I never really knew what ejector was, but if it's anything close to the airtime on NTAG, The riders are going to fly out and hit the riders on the zero g roll in the "top gun" element.
  16. So for those who have visited the park last night, how was Zombies 4D? Better than Guardian?
  17. Does anyone think a mack launched like Helix would be good here?
  18. While RMC works fast, I don't know what Six Flags is smoking that made them think it'd be open by spring.
  19. Griffin's first drop should be an oh sh-- moment. That pause at the top builds up the anticipation and the drop feels like it will last forever.
  20. What Eurfighters have you been on? DDD is smooth as grass.
  21. You dare question the abilities of Rocky Mountain Construction? THIS IS BLASPHEMY!
  22. I'm not too concerned with the trims as I am with the L. o. c. k. e. r. policy for this ride. I've been spoiled by the bins on Intimidator.
  23. Yes! I read through the entire thread yesterday and was hoping the park would make a return!
