I agree that $40 to park is absolutely absurd but a single day ticket for a weekend is anywhere between $65 to $75 dollars, which still seems pretty reasonable especially considering that a season pass is only like $117 or $177. I can't comment on food prices but is it really any different than any other entertainment offering these days, concert, sporting event, movies theatre etc.? I paid like $24.00 for a beer and a soda at an NFL game this past weekend, it sucks but that's kind of how it is these days I guess. Again I'm not trying to defend Six Flags here or anything but I think we can all agree that some of the previous pricing models were absurdly low and needed to change.

I think everything about this addition looks great, I love the concept of adding in nicer dining/bar areas that it seems like Cedar Fair is doing in a lot of their parks. A spot like this overlooking the lake should be a really nice little spot. One comment about the coaster, I love me a good wild mouse and can't wait to see this new model from Zamperla. I do wonder if they have redesigned the trains from their older/currently operating spinning mouse models on the market, because some of the transitions in this model with those trains would be ugh... not fun lol. -
Is the main issue people are having with season pass prices? I mean a single day ticket is still like $40 or less, and an annual pass to a single park for SFOG is showing as $132 which is pretty reasonable. The Ultimate pass for $400 for all parks seems like it's a little much but the Extreme pass which includes all SIX parks for $240 again seems pretty reasonable. I wonder how man people are buying the all park passes, enthusiasts I get it but I wonder how many regular customers visit a park outside of their home market on a regular basis? I haven't been to a Six Flags park in years so I can't comment on the quality of the experience but is it really that bad for $40 a day? To echo the sentiments of others I also don't really like the direction a lot of parks/the industry as a whole have taken post covid, but compared to other entertainment options out there it feels like the pricing here is still pretty fair.

Red Force only gets to 112 but also only has 4 car trains with 12 riders vs 5 trains with 18 rides like Dragster. I'm no expert on this but seems like with a longer launch track and the smaller train it could be possible to use the existing track, but you're right in that it would still be a massive investment for the controls system, trains, and launch/braking hardware alone. Will be interesting to see what ends up happening with it for sure. -

For whatever reason as soon as they announced this would be closing for the season I immediately thought about a renovation to a LIM launch like Red Force has, I have no idea if that's the case or a possibility but seems like everything is moving to LIM launches so it would probably make sense from a reliability and maintenance standpoint (again something I know nothing about). I'm not exactly tuned into the European coaster world but haven't really heard of regular extended downtime for that ride. If it's possible to convert it and it makes it more reliable seems like that would be a reasonable option considering how popular this attraction is. Also what was the last hydraulic launch coater Intamin built? Was it Formula Rossa in 2010? Has there been another hydraulic launch coaster built since then? -

That's a good question and I guess only Dollywood knows the answer, but I know the past couple times I was at DW Firechaser had the longest line in the park and Wildwood Grove was practically dead so something similar located in that section would seemingly be a good fit. Also my kids are the same way now, 6 and 9 yo and they're both tall enough for everything and have been on a lot of bigger coasters, but they still enjoy other stuff too. On our last trip to BGT we all rode Iron Gwazi together a couple of times, and they loved it, but they still preferred Cheetah Hunt and Cobras Curse as their favorites in the park despite IG clearly being the better coaster. I mean even me personally, if I go to a park like Cedar Point yeah my priorities are Maverick and SV, but I still want to ride Iron Dragon and Gemini and Blue Streak. I guess my point is that I don't see the issue with another "family" coaster at what is really a family destination resort type park, as long as it's good. -
Nothing on these forums gives me more joy than an Eric and Smisty trip report. Great work as always here. It's nice to read a different perspective on these parks than the usual reviews. I've always thought that Phantasialand looks really cool because of how much stuff they have crammed into such a small space, but have also thought that it might be kind of annoying in person? I don't know I guess it's more of a personal taste thing. If I had to pick one park in Europe to experience it would probably be Europa first, then Phantasialand and Eftling after that

What great addition. It's kind of nice to see an IP used in 2022 that's not the standard tentpoles we're used to these days. Also these Vekoma family boomerangs looks so perfect that it amazes me one hasn't been built in America yet. One of those would be a great addition to pretty much any park but we still haven't gotten one stateside.

It's crazy that San Diego and Williamsburg are getting new indoor family attractions next year when the park that needs an indoor family attraction the absolute most is Orlando lol. I'm mean I'm not complaining about a new prototype B&M especially since both my kids are over 54 inches now but dawg, it get HOT in Florida. Something indoors would be nice.

I'll be honest I've never understood the appeal of Schwarzkopf coasters, I mean they're all fun sure but I've never thought of any of them as being particularly memorable. If they are doing a complete re-furb and keeping the ride as close to the original because people like it that's cool. But if they completely nuke it and build some kind of next-gen shuttle coaster with swing launches and funky twisting spikes and some other cool stuff I'd be fine with that too.

Man I wish they still had their Wildcat, that would be a perfect addition for this kind of expansion. Yeah I've heard the Mad Mouse rumor and all but it aint the same as a Schwarzkopf Wildcat or whatever the model name is. -
Sounds like Manta is going to be open this year which is nice, having Manta, and I'm assuming Mako and Ice Breaker is a decent ride lineup. We really had a great time at the event last year so I'm looking forward to checking it out again. In fact I went ahead and bought tickets on the special they ran a little while back, it was like 2 tickets for any event night for like $33 each or something. I'll gladly pay $33 for some night rides and mediocre houses.

Man I hope I eat my words here but y'all are crazy if you think Flight Deck will be relocated to another CF park. Railblazer, the mouse, some water park stuff and some flats probably, but everything else I'd guess would be used for parts or scrapped. MAYBE, a place like Lost Island would be interested in buying/relocating something like Flight or Gold Striker but we'll see. Sad news though, I've never been to this park nor is it very high on my bucket list but it does look like a pretty decent place so it's a shame to see it go. I just hope they're transparent over the next couple of years as to when it's actually going to close for good. I hope they don't just close for the season in 2027 then never reopen, that would be pretty crappy but wouldn't surprise me either.

The old B&M Standups were kind of hit or miss for me, the bigger ones like Chang and Mantis I found pretty uncomfortable because of the weird way the G forces hit you standing up, but Georgia Scorcher and Riddler were great. It looks like this one won't be nearly as tall because of the launch, so I'm guessing it maybe won't be as forceful and more comfortable? Should be a solid lineup. It's still crazy to me that SeaWorld will have 3 coasters that have 54 In height requirement but oh well, a high capacity reliable coaster is always welcome.
