Exactly, people just aren't happy unless they get what they envisioned in their head. Oh, please I was not complaining at all. I was just simply confused that there is no Gotham City re-theme after all of the hints that lead toward that. It's very hard to detect emotion through text, so please try to give someone the benefit of the doubt when they say "What's with no Gotham City re-theme after all of the teasing" and not jump to conclusions that they were complaining. Anyways, I think this looks great! I'm excited that S&S has sold their first one of these, because I know they have been trying to sell them for a long while. can't wait for 2015! They are rethemeing Rockville to Gotham city, Rewatch the announcment video. It say something like by way of Gotham city, Batman the ride

Every coaster but Boomerang in the park is relocated. Even the log flume is relocated, supernova is relocated. I'd say right now TGE is the most neglected park in the chain, ride wise. I'm not blaming six flags tho, it's smart business. And yes I just used smart business and six flags in the same sentence. -

^ I get that but a coaster every 12 years isn't gonna drive families away, It didn't seem to drive them away when Premier and Six flags added Boomerang, Bobsled, Nightmare and Canyon blaster in a 6 year span. I think everyone sees me as someone who wants this to turn into a coaster park and that is completely false. I want ONE COASTER,ONE. One brand new steel and a awesome woodie, is enough for me, they can take the rest of the coasters out for all I care. I think there are too many as it is. -

They don't have completion... anywhere. Darien lake is 4+ hours away and more less sucks, and SFNE is 3+ hours. And that's exactly why SFI is keeping this park. It just makes business sense for them to keep it. Why dump this park off if they can invest things like Buccaneer bay, go 12 years without adding a coaster and still have happy fans. It's almost robbery I guarantee TGE makes more money than you think and just about every penny is sucked out and goes to other parks in the chain when SFI comes back and adds relocated rides and cheap attractions year after year. Really tho how many parks could still survive with this minimal addition and this sub par of a coaster line up. Yeah I would absolutely want SFI to add but in all honesty if I was in their shoes I would probably do the same thing... I would keep adding S**ty additions until attendance forces me to add something bigger. Even with these additions you don't see that many people complaining about lack of coasters and lack of good new rides. The funny thing is attendance has remained just about the same since 2003 when CB was added if not gone up. This trend of relocated and cheap rides isn't gonna end until attendance dips which I juts don't see happening -

I'm also from around the area and all I think they need is a signature steel coaster. I'm content with the size of the park now, I don't want it any bigger in terms of area. So when this coaster comes I would hope it would take the spot of one of the lackluster coasters. I've said it for a while, Six flags could go years without investing and the attendance would stay the same. Also on the other hand if they invest heavily the attendance wouldn't spike that significantly. That's the one and only reason why TGE is still called " The Great Escape: A Six Flags property" (It's why Six flags hasn't sold it yet) -

Annndddd another year in which this park is neglected. A re theme of a children splash area. Real creative six flags, real creative. -
I would like to ride The Chippers Magical Mystery Ride at TGE. Yeah they are using the same dome and the same scrambler but from a video I saw and people I've talked to Blizzard Indoors is a fraction of what it use to be before the scrambler was moved outside. Nothing like a pitch black scrambler ride with strobes! I rode it once when I was about 6 and I don't remember anything from it, I just remember boarding.

The rumors have never really stopped, every year it seems like it could be it's last year but then you walk in the next year it's still chugging. I honesstly thought Demon or Bobsled would go for a new coaster but It looks like it could be neither of them with the location of the markers -

^My thoughts exactly! Fun fact for everyone: Boomerang is the only non relocated coaster at this park! I remember how disappointed everyone was including the GP after their first ride on canyon blaster in 2003. I haven't ridden it in probably 5 or 6 year, Let's hope the new coaster isn't like that after 10 years. -

I've been pleasantly surprised but I think the park is in good condition a 100% because of Eric Gillbert. The park was on a downward slide with don mccoy and Eric came in and turned the park around. Look before Eric took over The park had a empty Nightmare building, A empty sky 360 dome , and a empty chippers dome. Now flashfoward to today. Nightmare has a haunted house in it.(I still don't think it is using it's space to it's full potential but it's better than empty) Sky 360 is gone with a brand new ride in it's place and Chippers is now Blizzard Indoors. Also you throw in the pink whale and Extreme Supernova and the park is 10x better than it was. Now all they need is a coaster and I see that coming in the near future. Maybe not 2015 but it's coming! -
[RCT3] Walaba Lake Park
gecomet92 replied to gecomet92's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Trip report: William Silverstein, park guest. April 17, 1933, tilt a whirls opening day! Hey everyone! I am a serious coaster enthusiast. I have unfortunately been strongly hit by the Great Depression. I lost my job, my farm has closed, meaning my extra money is now gone, and our house needs help. Still, I couldn't say I was a coaster enthusiast without riding the Walaba Lake Flitzer, so I drove to Walaba Lake, which took 5 hours and LOTS of gas! Arriving at the front gate, I instantly felt alive and well. This place looks like it was never hit by the depression! The entrance is like a beautiful castle. It's absolutely pristine. I wish more parks like this were still around! Walking down the midway, the excitement only grew, I saw a fully packed midway, on a TUESDAY! That's a rare sight at any park in the Great Depression. I saw a nice little picnic grove. Its nice this park is home to really nice picnic tables. It's like the feeling Canobie Lake had before it fell under. Canobie shouldn't have relied on the trolley that much. The scenery was the best I've ever encountered. I already love Walaba Lake and I haven't ridden anything! I saw a lot of signs around the midway advertising the new ride, the tilt-a-whirl. It looked pretty exciting. Although, I wasn't pleased to see someone puking outside the ride Yeah... Needless to say I was a bit nervous to board. After three hours of waiting, I wasn't gonna call it quits now! I took tub number 3. I pulled my bar down. I felt the palms of my hands slipping everywhere. I was sweating. I instantly felt funny. Something I've never had before. Adrenaline. The ride began moving, and I gripped the ride for dear life. All of a sudden, we were going over little dips and gliding through turns, picking up speed. It felt really tame. Don't let the beginning fool you! When the ride had full speed, the tubs were spinning at a rate which almost I couldn't even handle! I was pinned to my seat, my head being forced back. I was screaming, but I was forced back so much I didn't notice. I now was shaking, sweating, and I almost wanted to call it quits. Finally, the ride slowed down. I was extremely dizzy. I loved it. I think once a day is enough though. It's that intense. Along with the brand new tilt-a-whirl the park unveiled a brand new bathroom this year. It's nice to see the park adding extra besides their major attraction. I always love capitol improvements even though some go unnoticed. I went to eat at the cotton candy stand. I wanted something light. Love the new technology this stand has! The moving cotton candy is amazing. Next I went to go on their classic carousel, which was absolutely stunning. Felt like something a city would maintain. Just amazing. Its a world class carousel. Looff did a nice job. Its a nice, and surprisingly fast carousel! To end my day, I waited an extreme wait for the Walaba lake Flitzer. Its a world class coaster. But waiting for it, I saw a crowd. A mysterious crowd. A crowd that seemed to be anxious for something. They were all staring at a sign hanging right before the Flitzer. It was a teaser for a new attraction. The teaser said " Warning... Evacuations taking place at Walaba Lake Park in 1934..." With a picture of lightning and a plane? What could this mean? Onto the Flitzer itself... The Flitzer is definitely worth the status it has. It is extreme, full of positive and negative g's, and worthy of re rides. The second hill has absolutely insane ejector, and the banked turn following the hill has insane g's! I grayed out! Nice work Walaba for keeping this ride going strong! My only complaint is the brakes are too abrupt. Kinda hurts the back and neck. All in all, a spectacular day at Walaba! Can't wait to go back when we have the money to! Really though... What could that teaser -

When Did Six Flags Go Bad?
gecomet92 replied to Rollercoaster Rider's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I can only speak for TGE but I think the downfall of TGE coincided with the downfall of the chain. The chain took over in 1996 and within 7 years they added Bobsled, Boomerang, Nightmare, Canyon Blaster. There was no reason to do so The park was doing well at the time and they turn this little park into a coaster park and ripped out a ton of the charm the park had.
