  1. Photo from VF's Twitter of the slide tower progress. They're putting in the stairs to the top of the tower.
  2. Very accurate. I mean just judging by the reaction of the dummies, this is clearly the most force less B&M coaster ever built
  3. Even though I prefer Wild Thing to Xtreme Swing, I'd probably like Xtreme Swing more if they ran it a little longer, like maybe on or two extra swings. Even though it's a great ride, I feel like it ends too soon.
  4. The trains are designed for Arrow hypers, but if they are successful, maybe they could slightly modiy them for Morgan track and put them on Wild Thing. They would be a good improvement over the current trains since they look a lot more open. The problem is, these trains only have 24 seats as opposed to the current trains' 36, so capacity would be reduced a bit. Also, they need to make sure they don't have a maximum height requirement like the B&M trains would.
  5. Saw this on Screamscape. It apparently seems that the new coaster could possibly have restraint belts that go over the shoulders. Not sure why that's needed though, unless there's a brand new type of restraint system being used. Also, you can see the word "Tempesto" in the background, so if this concept art is legitimate, I'm locking Tempesto as my guess for the name.
  6. So, I assume Valley Hills is dead?
  7. Sorry if this sounds random, but I was just wondering, what do the rest of you think about Xtreme Swing? I personally think it's the best non-coaster ride at the park because it has a great mix of airtime and G-forces . Although, I've heard several people think that it's disappointing. Since it's a great ride, I hope it isn't removed anytime soon, but I fear that they might do that because of the reliability problems Screamin' Swings have, and the accidents on Skyhawk at Cedar Point.
  8. Those actually look really cool. Would be a great addition to any waterpark, not just Valleyfair's. So, when is this place going to start looking like a waterpark?
  9. I like the pre-drop on Raging Bull because it gives you a little more airtime while going down the drop. I wish B&M still built coasters with pre-drops, but now that they've worked out the kinks with the lift chain, they aren't needed anymore .
  10. I'm a bit confused on the Giga coaster talk because it isn't going to happen at Valleyfair. Maybe in another 20+ years we could get one, but even then, hoping for a giga is unfortunately a fanboy's pipe dream.
  11. Exactly. Taller and faster does not necessarily mean better. I think Wild Thing is the perfect example of that.
  12. It looks like fun! But I'd want to just go for an Intamin at that point; they have the best airtime. I would actually want a Mega-Lite, or pretty much any Intamin for that matter, over a B&M coaster because Intamin makes some really intense and amazing creations. However, I unfortunately don't think we'll see another Cedar Fair Intamin anytime soon because it has been five years since the last one (Intimidator 305), and I think they would prefer to have fewer reliability issues.
  13. Exactly. I wouldn't mind getting a relocated coaster as long as it's not a piece of crap like a Vekoma or a B&M standup. Although, I think our next coaster will probably be something new.
  14. The reason I'd rather not have a wing coaster here is because it would not be that intense. X-Flight has its moments here and there, but it isn't all-around intense. I get that wing coasters are focused on the flying sensation and not insane forces, but VF really needs something that will blow its clientele away if you ask me. Maybe if it was a launched wing coaster like Thunderbird, I would be more excited about one, but that ride cost $22 million, which is too far outside the park's price range.
  15. I don't have a local Six Flags park, but I have gone down to Great America once a year for the past two years, and I think my park experience last year was slightly better than it was in 2013. The lines moved at a good pace on all of the rides (except for Batman, which was running two trains, but running slow enough that you'd think it's just one train). I did not encounter any bad/rude employees, which was nice. Thankfully, all of the rides I went on were running well (Raging Bull had a slight rattle but the light trims made up for it). I hope they continue to improve over the next few years.
  16. VF could probably get something along the lines of X-Flight for $15 million, but I think we need something a little more intense than a wing coaster. While none of VF's coasters are really forceless IMO (except for Wild Thing post-MCBR), none of them are super-forceful either.
  17. We always chuckle whenever we see someone in the fast lane line when the ride is a walk on. Same here. When I was at Valleyfair back in October, I was waiting for Steel Venom, and there was only a one train wait, but a group of three or four elementary school-aged kids went through the Fast Lane line . Makes you wonder what their parents were thinking spending around $100 for Fast Lane wristbands on such a slow day.
  18. Saw Kingsman: The Secret Service yesterday, and I liked it. Not my favorite spy movie, but not the worst one either. Pretty good acting all-around. Samuel L. Jackson did a great job as the villain. The storyline was decent, and there were a few funny and entertaining moments here and there. I'd recommend it if you're into spy/action movies.
  19. ^ Great trip report. That pretty much sums up how I feel about SFGAm. Not a perfect park by any means, but still a great one with some amazing rides.
  20. I had a good time at Disneyland when I was there two summers ago. It had a few good rides, but I also enjoyed the nice, charming atmosphere, and lots of other stuff to do. Wouldn't mind going back there.
  21. Adding on to what I posted earlier, I do not think that fast passes are creating a class system in amusement parks. Is a $50 wristband/Q-Bot really the difference between rich and poor? I think not. Almost everyone that I've seen use a fast pass just looks like a normal person. It all depends on how you prioritize the things you want, and for some people, getting more time out of your park visit is a bigger priority. That being said, during the few times I've used a fast pass, I still couldn't help but feel guilty about walking past all those people waiting in the huge line.
  22. ^ Even though I think Valleyfair's next coaster needs some inversions, I wouldn't complain if we got something like that because it does look like a good ride. I've always thought that if Corkscrew was to bite the dust soon, a Premier Spaghetti Bowl coaster would be a good replacement. Never ridden one, but it looks like fun and would be exactly what the park needs, a modern steel coaster with inversions, plus a launch. I'm sure the general public would like it, and it would be very photogenic over the lake (Corkscrew already is). Although, Corkscrew probably isn't going anywhere soon because they just repainted it recently, it can still have a decent line on busier days, and it runs very smoothly for it's age. Plus, if you removed CS, that would give the park a brief period of no inverting coasters. Even though the Spaghetti Bowl scenario probably wont happen, it could be interesting.
  23. Sorry if I sound stupid, but what are those yellow things hanging inbetween each car?
  24. ^^ Great pictures! I really hope I can get a chance to ride Fury 325 one of these days. I think the B&M flyers are quite popular with the GP because during the two times I've been to SFGAm, the wait time for Superman never went below 75 minutes, and both of those visits were on weekdays. Of course, S:UF's lower capacity probably has something to do with that, but from my experience with flying coasters, the GP seems to really like them for the most part. I do agree that an invert would be a better/more likely choice for Valleyfair, just wondering what some of you might think about the possibility of a flyer.
  25. Wow. This slide tower is going to be a lot taller than I thought it would be. Even though I'm not normally a waterpark person, this is really getting me excited. Sorry if it sounds like a dumb idea, but would the rest of you ever want to see a B&M flyer at Valleyfair? It obviously wouldn't be the park's next coaster, but maybe eventually? Personally, I'd only want it to happen if it would have a pretzel loop because I've ridden Manta and Superman: Ultimate Flight, and while I really like both of them, they don't have too many forces outside of the pretzel loop. Although, a flyer would be unlike anything else here, and the general public would love it.
