  1. I haven't heard any rumors of a new ride coming to Nick Universe, but if you have, please do share.
  2. Never been to La Ronde, nor do I plan on going anytime soon, but based on all I hear about this park, they should work on improvents in operations and customer service before they consider adding a new coaster. When I hear about LaRonde having rude employees, one-train operations, and 5+ minute dispatch intervals on busy summer days, it obviously means that the management doesn't care about the guest experience. Not sure how they'll improve their service, but they need to improve somehow. Besides, they have a decent ride lineup that should hold them over for now.
  3. Yeah, I think we should drop this wooden coaster talk since I highly doubt it will ever happen. Besides, as I said earlier, they don't really have any place to put in a new coaster right now. Nick Universe is doing just fine with their current lineup. Not saying they won't ever need a new coaster, it's just not a necessity at the moment.
  4. I'd assume that whatever they're doing back there is just infrastructure work because it's a bit too early for land clearing. Great pictures, VFVSGirl16! Everything looks quiet now, but the season will be here in no time. Only 69 more days to go (can't make it on Opening Day ).
  5. I suppose you could put it in the amphitheater's spot, but I think Mad Mouse should probably be relocated to the old Chaos spot for the best use of space (based on the Google Earth overview it should fit in there). That would leave the amphitheater's space and Wild Thing's turnaround available for other new attractions. It would be neat if they rethemed Mad Mouse to Wild Rails.
  6. Wicked Cyclone says a bold statement to make... I agree. Even though Fury 325 and Thunderbird are definitely a step in the right direction for B&M, Wicked Cyclone and Twisted Colossus are going to be very hard to beat (especially Wicked Cyclone, which looks insane).
  7. ^ Thanks for the update. A bit surprised that the old sign is still there, though the new one probably won't take too much time to put up. Do the rest of you think they might be able to save the sign in some way? I hope there's some museum would take it. It would be great if they could keep it somewhere in the park like Route 76, but I unfortunately doubt that would happen.
  8. It seems to be going a little faster than in the animation, even though it's just the beginning. Once it breaks in it should be running even better. It's interesting to see them testing it with the snow still on the ground.
  9. Some great photos of Thunderbird's train, station, and launch area from Holiday World's Facebook page. Can't wait to see this ride in action.
  10. Viper - Six Flags Great America
  11. We should see some more progress today since a lot of the slide pieces are sitting near the tower. Also looks like they'll eventually pour new concrete for the path near Mad Mouse.
  12. ^ I'd love to see NU get an S&S Free Spin. It would have to be smaller than Fiesta Texas' version, but I could see it working out if done right.
  13. Granted, but it is even rougher than Goudurix. I wish for summer to come faster.
  14. Slide tower has a few parts of the trapdoor slides in place and it looks like they're about to start on one of the speed slides. From VF's Facebook page.
  15. According to these Facebook comments, some GP think that Fury 325 will be boring simply because it doesn't have any inversions. I've never understood why they think like that, but they do. They should also learn about upstop wheels. -A steel coaster with no loop = fail -Hell yeah I would ride this. It needs a couple flips tho -This is absolute a mess up hate to say it but this is a death trap somebody go get hurt badddd -This is nothing!!! Where's the flips? I wouldn't waste my time with a rollercoaster that doesn't have flips! -I think not. It looks too open as though it could fly off the track at any second and that first drop is way too extreme. -Looks like a cheap green rip off of The Millennium Force at Cedar Point...
  16. Slide pieces are finally going in place! Photos from Dave Frazier's Twitter.
  17. I unfortunately don't think we'll ever see a wooden coaster at Nick Universe because they just don't have the space. They don't have anywhere else to expand because they're landlocked by the other stores in the mall, and they probably won't be taking over any other mall space anytime soon. Also, even though raising the roof could be an option if they wanted to build taller rides, I think most people would consider doing that a waste of money.
  18. Viper at Six Flags Great America was a slight letdown for me. Even though it's my 3rd favorite woodie and 9th overall, it's only that way because of the great floater air. Besides the airtime, there isn't too much action in terms of intensity and positive G's . While it's smoother than the average wooden coaster, it's not butter smooth like I'd heard.
  19. Some of the element shaping could use a little more work, but overall it's a good start .
  20. It's hard for me to choose a specific chain as my favorite, but I think I'll go with Herschend because they have what I really like in a park: some awesome coasters and thrill rides, plus a nice, charming atmosphere to enjoy. I went to Silver Dollar City a long time ago and would really like to go back someday, especially now that they have Outlaw Run. They run SDC and Dollywood very well, so I wish they would manage some other parks. I'd be interested in seeing what Herschend could do with some of the CNL parks like Elitch Gardens and Darien Lake.
  21. It goes a bit slower after the airtime hill (maybe due to the trim brake), but overall it definitely looks faster in the POV than in the animation. Hopefully they'll eventually release a smoother mounted POV.
  22. Great to see Fury 325 finally testing. I actually might have a chance to ride it this summer, so it's getting me excited!
  23. If anyone has been by the park recently, is the old sign still there? Even though there are still 72 days until opening, they've got to put in the new one sometime.
  24. There are two workers walking up the lift hill. I wonder what that means for possible testing.
  25. Spongebob Squarepants Rock Bottom Plunge at Nickelodeon Universe.
