I was surprised (and then again, I wasn't) that people showed up so early to get into the park. With the Boarding Groups being a first come first serve digital service that went live at 8:00 am, as long as you were in the park just a few minutes before, you'd have an equal opportunity to snag a boarding pass as the person who showed up at 4am. I hope the ride operates well today for everyone trying to join the resistance!

I thing it's really odd looking to have photo realistic people in a stylized attraction poster. I do understand, that might be the point.. real people in a cartoon world. It's just jarring for some reason. Look at this Big Thunder Poster. I think it would look much better to have people drawn into the poster.

Bill, why do you believe there will be some sort of transportation? Or, even a walk way? Honestly, there doesn't seem to be a need for an actual transportation "ride" because the lands are so close together between the two parks. Unlike Universal, where the lands are really far apart an warrant transportation. If this connecting of the parks thing is true, I could see something along the lines of an elevated walkway connecting Arendelle to Beauty and the Beast area. I just don't see any practical need for a "ride" unless they are connecting different areas that we aren't thinking about. I do hope they connect the parks, but if they do, I could also see them changing how park hoppers work. Changing to how the ticket works at all the other Disney Parks; same day, no restrictions.

I thought Iron Reef fell short on the theming, and the vehicle design. The whole ride seemed like it was temporary. And, I am not comparing to anything else other than other dark rides at Knotts. I am surprised that they didn't plus this up though and bring it to the level of their other Dark Rides; instead of doing what seems like an overlay. I really do want the best for Knotts though.

Don't forget the 'VR Showdown in Ghost Town attraction closed recently. That would be extremely disappointing if the attraction is in that small space. I don't know how small that space is but isn't there a new product from Mack/Trio-Tech that's an interactive darkride/flat ride specifically for a smaller space? I feel like I saw an ad or post for that recently on some kind of industry social media page, no idea if that's what this is but it looked like a fun concept. It was put in a former lazer tag arena carved out from within their arcade on the boardwalk. Couldn't be more than 500sqft. The VR Space, as it sits now, is not large enough to hold a ride. But I do think it's funny everyone seems to think it must be either Mystery Lodge, or a re-do of Iron Reef. It can also be something totally new. That being said, I really did not like Iron Reef, it's not a very good ride.. If it does get a re-theme, it can only get better!

That photo is photo shopped or something else is very weird. The whole section is jagged and misaligned... I don't know if it's actually an outward bank or not, but that photo is very suspicious looking. It's also very odd that they would release such a strange photo.. -

I would guess if the FAA approved a height of 706', then that would include the entire building and everything above it. Doesn't make sense for them to approve a height of a building, that then goes higher than what was approved. -
Disneyland is removing the rocks in front of Tomorrowland! The OC Register has the article behind a paywall. So, It's quoted below. (Photo by Jeff Gritchen, Orange County Register/SCNG) Disneyland has begun the slow process of removing the colorful rocks that have decorated the entrance to Tomorrowland for more than two decades, according to Disney officials. Visitors began noticing construction walls up around the area Thursday morning, Aug. 15, and speculating about the removal, which has been planned as part of a general campaign to widen walkways and improve pedestrian access around the park. It will also include cutting down the curb to make it easier for strollers and scooters. “The Tomorrowland rocks are starting to be removed nearest Disneyland’s Central Hub,” the MiceChat.com blog posted on social media, citing members of the construction crew. “The marquee has already been removed. The other side won’t be started for awhile, so the whole process could take months to complete.” The manufactured rocks, which some wags have dubbed the “french fry rocks,” were added during the 1998 remodel of Tomorrowland, according to Todd Regan, who runs MiceChat.com under the pen name of Dusty Sage. While decorative, many visitors complained that they limited walk space during peak periods such as during and after fireworks shows. The removal is part of a larger “Project Stardust” effort to widen walkways throughout the park. “Hoping that this project is for the removal of the Eisner-era ‘98 disaster of a Tomorrowland entrance rocks!” UC Irvine student and annual passholder Gregory Conley posted on Facebook, along with a photo of the construction walls. Disney officials confirmed that the rocks are in the process of being removed along the north side of the Tomorrowland entrance, and the marquee sign that says “Tomorrowland” has already been removed. The remainder of the rocks will be taken out in a slow process over the coming months, officials said. LOL, agreed. Everyone keeps saying the Theming is amazing...and all I see is grass! Maybe, it's the best grass ever planted... -
Makes perfect sense! With the park is only letting the land itself get to a certain capacity (no clue how they will judge this). You have to join a Boarding Group and will be told when you're able to enter the land. So, its reasonable to assume that the attraction wait time won't ever be some massive 600 minute wait, because the park is controlling the amount of people that have access to it.
