  1. I use Twitter everyday, mainly because of dem dank memes!!!!1!111!1 Ah, but in all seriousness, I use Twitter to keep up with friends, follow events in parks, people and topics that I'm interested in. If you asked me this 6 months ago, I would've picked "Rarely use it" but now it has grown onto me and I really like it! I also love how it's the one of the only true social media platforms that allows people with big followings, like TPR, to connect with their fans!
  2. Is this park open yet or what?
  3. It's kinda a small park. It's not much but hey, as long as it has good coasters, I'm happy.
  4. When I saw the title, I had to see it to believe it. B&M? Building FAMILY COASTERS?! Well, that's it! The apocalypse has finally begun, pigs are learning how to fly, Satan is skating his way to work, and I'm pretty sure I just became a monkey's uncle.
  5. Hey all! It's your Kuwaiti member, mrlego611, back with another Photo TR! This time, I go to a small theme park in the middle of the city, surrounded by apartment buildings. Check it out! So, I wanted to go to a bookstore and buy some Stephen King novels, because I'm a HUGE Stephen King fan. The closest one was Jarir Bookstore in Hawalli Park. I thought, wait a second. Hawalli Park's an amusement park, so why not make a photo trip? And well, I did! NOTE! SOME IMAGES MAY LOOK LIKE THEY'RE TAKEN DURING THE NIGHT, BUT THAT'S JUST MY PHONE'S CAMERA FREAKING OUT! Here, we have the main entrance. Looks nice, eh? Entry is free, but you need to buy one of those swipe cards for the rides. Here we have the first of two coasters. The Family Coaster. It's a blue junior coaster that climbs a chain lift before dropping and going around some helixes. It's not much, though. Trampolines. Weeeeeee! Majestic family drop ride is majestic. Here's another Tagada! I told you they were popular! Kuwait's second spinning coaster! Don't really know the manufacturer, but the trains look like Maurer Sohne S-Coaster trains. It's the Crazy Disco flat ride! It just spins you around while playing music. Not that much fun, to be honest. Creepy midway games. Here we have another shot of the park, with the ferris wheel and the Family Coaster! That's about it for this photo trip! Hope you guys liked it! OH! And here's a final shot of Hawalli Park while driving away! All right, I gotta go now. See ya real soon!
  6. Well, it's definitely not India. Somewhere in the U.S....
  7. Imagine if Intamin or B&M ask you to come over to their factory.....
  8. Get something straight here - no one copied anyone. The track is designed for the ride, regardless of what manufacturer makes it. There aren't any "honor codes" that I know of, unless there's a patent involved. But, if you REALLY want to get technical - Premier's track uses a square cross-sectioned tie in the shape of a hollowed-out triangle. Intamin's track uses tubes that start wide and get narrow as they approach the running rail, and the rails are connected by tubes, creating the tie. Maurer's track in that application is two-rail for the most of the layout, and the only reason why it looks like Premier's track is because they used a spine for the top hat, loop and corkscrew - probably so they didn't have to support it as much - and needed some way to connect the rails to the spine. Again, I'm filing this one under things that really "don't matter", especially considering that Intamin still uses the box/triangle track that they've always used (EDIT: Did you even see the other coaster in this park?!?) I didn't know what was the correct word to type so I just said copying. And, yes I did check out the other coaster, and I know they still use the skeleton track. I'm just talking about the new track and why so many manufacturers are using the design. But at least B&M are keeping their box-track!
  9. I would like to see a big makeover for the biggest park in my country, Entertainment City. It's been the same since the 80's, well it had a Batman clone put in but that's it. I wanna see a Hyper or some more coasters rather than flat rides. I want Oasis Express to have some theming! If you would take a look at the park, it may seem decent but it's not.
  10. Why are so many manufacturers copying Premier Rides' new track?! Look at Premier's track: NOW look at the other companies. Intamin (Except they double-spined theirs): Maurer Sohne: Is it because it's more durable or it eliminates the need for extra supports, I WANNA KNOW!
  11. Awesome! Kuwait has a couple of theme parks other than Shaab and Entertainment City. Also has indoor parks. Infunity at 360 Mall is good! Has a Gerstlauer Spinning Coaster and go-karts. I think KidTums would love Cartoon Network World. Check out the link for all the parks in Kuwait. http://rcdb.com/r.htm?ot=3&ol=26643
  12. You should come visit! But be warned, summer gets seriously hot and dust storms galore! As for winter, REALLY cold and occasionally stormy. Dubai's where you wanna go. Other countries don't have much. Iraq has an X-Car, but it's the same track design as G-Force at Drayton Manor.
  13. Al-Shaab Park in Kuwait. 1) REOPEN SNBO RIDES! A lot are in good condition! 2) Easy on the flat rides! There's too much! 3) More roller coasters. The only 2 existing coasters in the park are SNBO'd permanently. Add a Gerstlauer Eurofighter or a Maurer X-Car. 4) Remove rides that are not functional! 5) Re-open the Arrow coaster! It's in good condition and no reason for it to be SNBO! 6) Clean up the Viking ride! It has SO MUCH graffiti. 7) Get some security that actually kick out people for misbehaving! I had a kid sit ABOVE the restraints on the Viking ride next to me!
  14. No. Women go the park with guys like any other park, but they also have mondays reserved for women only. Thursday, a lot of boys schools reserved the park. Our school is unisex, but they separate us after the 3rd grade. It's a K-12 school.
  15. I know! This park screams desperate for a Eurofighter or an X-Car.
  16. So our school announced a field trip for my school to Al-Shaab Park, located in the area of "Shaab". This is the second time the school has organized a field trip to the park, so it's basically a "Been there, done that" kind of thing for most students so a lot didn't want to go. It was to take place at the end of the week on Thursday, so it was a good way to end the week before Christmas holiday, which means 2 weeks of no school! FLASH FORWARD TO THURSDAY! It's field trip day, only a handful of students, including me, show up. My whole class and other classes manage to fit into one bus because we were exactly the amount of seats on the bus! Friends on the bus. Acting like hooligans. We play some songs on our phones, we make jokes, some flirt at women outside the bus but they barely notice us. Yeah, usual Kuwaiti teen stuff. Teachers are sittin' at the front, conversing and joking with other students. We then get our first look at the park. Our first look at Shaab Park, showing the ferris wheel and S&S Space Shot. We then left the bus, and found OTHER schools at the park, even the 'Kuwait Scouts'. Some areas were mostly empty except for a few people. Entrance and Ticket Booth of Shaab Park. Since tickets were already paid for and reserved, we got our tickets and headed off to the 'Family Entrance.' This is where the fun began. After entering the park, many students ran off with their friends. A whole bunch of students ran to the most popular ride at the park. The TagaDisco. A lot of guys were dancing in the middle of the Tagada, some were falling over, some were having a good laugh. I was one of them. It was fun. Tagadas are in EVERY amusement park in Kuwait, so you are bound to see one. Directly in front of it was the Revolution. Or as the park called it, "Evolution." It was like any revolution flat ride. So, it was fun. My friends took photos while we were onboard. The faces we made were HILARIOUS! But unfortunately, the photo is with my friend so, Revolution in full swing! Taken by me after my ride. I wandered about the park after the "Evolution" ride, and I came across a particular coaster some of you have previously posted about. The first and last Intamin Spiral Coaster! Or as you would like to call it, the Intamin DEATH MACHINE! It was rusted as hell! Also permanently SNBO. I couldn't get a good picture of it, as it's not really photogenic, but also the area around it is covered up. Check it out. Well Robb, this is one Intamin you wouldn't wanna ride. Nearby was the "Matherhorn" or "Musik Express" as some might call it. I'm not kidding, that's it's name. Matherhorn. I pronounce it, (Math-erhorn.) I kept wandering and I came across Arrow's last ever custom looping coaster. It is simply called, "Roller Coaster." Greatest. Name. EVAR! The coaster is seriously photogenic. I took tons of pics of this ride! It has 2 inversions. A loop and a corkscrew, and features a pre-drop, and 2 overbanked curves. Unfortunately, it was also permanently SNBO. So that leaves NO roller coasters in this park. Only flat rides. Even though it was SNBO, the station gate was wide open and there was no operator, so a couple of my friends and I climbed up into the station. I snapped a couple of pics. Don't worry about the control panel. It's not functional. The train. Pre-drop. Another view of the corkscrew. We left the station and walked around. Snapped some pics. Here is "Win Street." These were supposed to be carnival booths. Welcome foolish mortals, to the UNTED CASTLE! It was also SNBO. WHY ARE A LOT OF RIDES IN THIS PARK SNB-FRICKIN'-O?! The "Dino Jungle" ride. A poor man's version of Animal Kingdom's "DINOSAUR!" Only recently fitted with new cars. Gold Mine carts! Previous cars were based off of the Jurassic Park cars. I also took a picture of the S&S Space Shot! And you can probably guess, S. N. B. O. Directly in front of "UNTED CASTLE" is the Sky Coaster! Also SNBO. Damn it, Shaab Park. WHY ARE YOUR RIDES ALWAYS SNBO?! Another shot of the INTAMIN DEATH MACHINE! Some awesome views of the park! We went riding the "Viking" swinging pirate ship! Onboard. Graffitied as heck with white-out! Nothing much happened after that. My and my friends got lost in the park after riding the swinging pirate ship. We left that ride, almost every student and staff from our school in the park disappeared. Only people left were the seniors and their grade coordinator. We asked them where they went, no clue. We went circling the park until we found them. They were all at the Tagada/Revolution area. Then my camera died. After that, we left the park and we were split into 3 groups. One group went to eat Taco Bell, the other to McDonald's the last group with me, went to eat Hardee's. (That's 'Carl's Jr.' for you, 'Muricans.) After the lunch, we all went to school where we were picked up by our parents and went home. And that was my trip to Al-Shaab Leisure Park! Theme Park Review, if you plan on having a Middle Eastern tour, and if you want a park that has almost all it's rides SNBO, visit Al-Shaab Park, which should be named Al-Shaab Flat Ride Park. Seriously. No coasters, almost all rides are SNBO, nothing but FLAT RIDES! AND ONLY FLAT RIDES! Some rides are free, some you gotta cough up some money to get on. Money-stealin' thieves. But still; it was fun, we laughed, we enjoyed some of the rides, and if I had to rate this park, I'd give it a 6/10. Thanks for reading my post! Hope you liked it!
  17. I had a dream where at first, I was in this alleyway/courtyard and it was "Emo Day" and there were Emos everywhere. I don't know why I dreamt of emos, as I am not one myself but I kind of like emo girls but I digress. Anywho, suddenly a zombie apocalypse occurred out of nowhere and we all escaped to a resistance base and it was...... DISNEY'S CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE! The whole park was boarded up so no zombies can get in. We suddenly found ourselves on California Screamin' and in my dream it went faster and the tunnels were more like the WDW Space Mountain tunnel in the beginning. Then we all ended up at the entrance of Tower of Terror. We all bought a "Zoom Pass" and we were taken to a VIP area of the tower. We ended up riding the most terrifying, most g-force inducing, most pants-crapping version of the Tower of Terror. When ToT ended, I woke up.
  18. Big Dipper at Blackpool Pleasure Beach.

  20. I'm not 100%, but I am pretty sure this project is dead. It's a shame though because the concept of a park being in the shape of a whale would've been awesome. I know. I just remembered, my mom previously told me about the project in Dubai. I was excited and I looked it up, only to find out it has been shelved. Damn recession ruining my dreams of having a Six Flags or a Busch Gardens near my country. It's ok. I still have that field trip to one of our poopy parks here on Thursday so expect a Photo TR on Thursday!
  21. FINALLY! A BUSCH GARDENS NEAR MY COUNTRY! One hour away by plane! I hope it has a B&M diving coaster when it opens! Shame Six Flags dropped outta the Dubailand. But still, BUSCH GARDENS!
  22. Incline Loop. ................. I'll show myself out.
