... Now that's a stretch So Cedar Point is teasing teasers? That's almost as bad as when they had an announcement of an announcement! This is Tony on April Fool's Day so I don't suspect too much fine print. But at least now we have some official RMC Streak photos to drool over. All aboard the hype train! Toot Toot! -
Here's my full report from BGT last weekend. As I arrived at the park, I rushed for Cobra's Curse--It was thankfully open. Though I was apprehensive about waiting in 30-60 min lines all day after spending some time at the Fun Spot parks. So, I rushed back to the front of the park to get a Quick Queue--only to balk at the prices and head back to a 50 min wait for Cobra's Curse. While a fun concept, the backwards/spinning sections weren't fleshed out enough. I'll wait to ride it again when the line gets to an average of 20 minutes. 6/10 Then I took a ride on my favorite B&M invert: Montu. Back seat, entrance seat. Sweet mother of donkey, I love that ride. 9/10 After the B&M invert high, I waited an hour for Cheetah Hunt in the back seat, first dispatch. Being a single rider, I got paired with a third wheel of another group, and couldn't stop laughing at how much she was screaming. Still a big fan of the ride. 8/10 After a meh lunch watching Cobra's Curse getting stuck, I made for Pantopia and the awesomeness that is Falcon's Fury. I love being a single rider. Got on in 10 min when the board said 35. Coming from someone who has 2 years operating an S&S tower, FF is the best Drop Tower. 9/10 Then it was time for Kumba to redeem itself. My previous ride on Kumba was underwhelming. But this ride (back row, exit seat) was a lot better. Original ride: 5/10 This Ride: 8/10 Then it came time to dive on Sheikra. I got line-jumped by about 10 people . But I sat back row, far entrance. On my previous rides,I didn't experience this, but the ride put some weird forces on my left leg. Still a fun ride, though. 7/10 Spent some time walking around the food and wine area, acquiring a beer before getting another couple rides on Montu ( But enough of my babbling, onto the pictures! Montu sighting on the way in! Kumba threading the needle In the immortal words of Robb Alvey, "LOOP DE LOOOOOP!" And now, since Kumba translates to "Roar," I present a Kumba-themed parody of Katy Perry's "Roar" I got the eye of Busch Gardens! A Coaster! This Ride is Awesome! Racing through the Congo! And you're gonna hear it Kumba-a-a-a-a-a-a-a! Kumba-a-a-a-a-a-a-a! Yeah, it wasn't the best parody. Hey look, a picture that absolutely no one has! The biggest perk of a small camera: fitting the lens in between the holes in the protective netting. Sheikra -Don't tell me, we're about to go over a huge waterfall. -Yep. -Sharp rocks at the bottom? -Most likely. -Bring it on. Geronimo! DIVE, DIVE DIVE! Oooh, a rainbow. How shiny! Splashdown in 3...2...1... HOLY FOTHERMUCKING DONKEYSH!T A WATERBENDING WEEPING ANGEL! Busch Gardens topiaries: sponsored by Disney's Moana. Release the Kraken! What's the matter? Looks like you've seen a ghost. Why hasn't this tree-thingy become more popular? For those of you who that enjoy this sort of thing: Underneath Cheetah Hunt launch track. I tawt I taw a putty tat! I did! I did tee a putty tat! Montu Sunset Cheetah Hunt Sunset Really wish I waited for a train here. At the top, ready to drop. Look out below! Coming in for a landing. Scorpion Sunset An awesome way to end the day.

Ride in the front. Got it. There's a reason parks recommend loose articles are either left on the platform or in rabbits. But it still won't stop me from making a beeline for the rear. I loved the backseat on Outlaw Run and that Quad Down makes me wish I took use of one of my timeshares in the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area. -

Seeing this report makes me wish WDW would figure out the logistics of a 5th gate and build a Journey clone. -

You also held the patent for the best way to ride Mean Streak. So I don't know whether or not to trust your opinion here. What's your secret? Does it work on other stand ups? -

Either way, there'll be paint involved. If they continue to retrack sections, it would make sense not to paint those sections just yet. -

Fixed. Is that confirmed, or just word in the Dippin' Dots storage room? -
Because Universal utterly massacred the original concept of the ride. The theming: gone. The Dueling: Sayonara. And the less said about the metal detectors the better. There are some, myself included, that believe the attraction would better be served elsewhere where it could duel, or split up and rethemed. And there's always the hope that there's a new themed coaster that better fits the area. Though a screen-based attraction is more likely.

Fixed (true story) I have never imbibed any alcohol, so I could not have been intoxicated. It is actually possible to enjoy a Vekoma Family Inverted Coaster. It's easier without OTSRs. I enjoyed Fun Spot Orlando's Freedom Flyer after expecting and bracing for the worst. -
I heard a rumor a bit ago that they might enclose either Sand Serpent or Scorpion. There may have been something on the table for removing Sand Serpent but I definitely remember the enclosure bit as something the park was talking about. Quick and dirty indoor coaster for when the weather is bad. I vote enclose Scorpion--Keep the Schwarzkopf Alive!. As for Sand Serpent, I heard there was a mechanical part that blew out. If that's true, it'd be a little ironic that both the park's Mack coasters suffer from mechanical issues.

A pair of non-dueling B&M dueling inverts that one must go through a metal detector and complicated rabbit storage to ride or the park's 100th screen-based attraction. Decisions, decisions. I'm in the camp that says the coasters be split up and sent to other Universal parks or sent to a place where they could duel. Either way, that article makes it sound like the new attraction would be similar to Kong.

It's most likely budget reasons. If I remember correctly, the reason Gwazi's still SBNO is due to budgetary reasons. I blame Blackfish. As for Skyride/Flume, both are older rides and parts are unfortunately harder to come by. Expect some downtime on Cobra's Curse, even if just a few hours/minutes. There were a couple times yesterday when I saw loaded trains sitting on the second lift for a few seconds waiting for something to happen. On a scale of reliability (from what I heard talking to ride ops), it's about halfway between Cedar Point and Lightning Rod.

Yes, please complain about how a highly complex piece of machinery is not operating due to safety reasons--Especially to the ride operators. -
Just got back from a day at the park. I plan to post a full trip report in a couple days/as soon as I finish all my schoolwork . But here's a couple thoughts from the day: -I'm glad I refrained from putting Kumba in the most disappointing coasters thread. My previous ride was just the coaster on a bad day. -Montu is still my favorite B&M invert. -Falcon's Fury/Bacon Pretzel Fury= -Captured the elusive Cobra's Curse credit! -Sky Ride is undergoing scheduled maintenance -The only credit from the park I still need, the Mack wild mouse was closed. -I saw an empty train on Kumba's MCBR while on Falcon's Fury. But when I went over there immediately after FF, it was up to a 40 min. wait. What the was going on with it?

All those people thinking RMC Hurler could be 150+ tall, while I'm no physics/engineering expert, it might make more sense in that case to take a wrecking ball to the entire track and build from the ground up. So I agree with Bill in the Storm Chaser comparisons. And it's yet another reason I need to make use of the timeshare across from BGW and make a trip out of that and KD. -
Fresh off the line. If you notice, there are 6 seats per row on this version, where every other version has 5. Knott's, for whatever reason, wanted more capacity, and it was designed to fit on Windseeker's old anchor bolts as well. It's not only new, but custom. Can't wait to ride... I LOVED Samurai at Lagoon.
