  1. The Vekoma family suspended coaster (Kvasten, Orkanen, Freedom Flyer, etc) is not a free-swinging coaster per say, but the cars do swing a little bit. In fact, the train of Kvasten comes a bit tilted in the station due to the last transition: It might not be obvious as it's only a few degrees. I tried to put it back in place, but it's actually hard (hence why it's not really free-swinging) and it stays titled during the whole unloading/loading phase.
  2. Indeed, but the ride is up and running. It has three-cars trains, just like Turbulence. A funny thing is that now the ride is literally covered with theming, with only the turn and the top of the first drop visible: Here on the far left hand side. Here on the far right hand side. Pictures and videos are hard to find. If you guys have any...
  3. Did my best: (Here is Across the Dragon Valley if you're not familiar with it)
  4. But there they'll be sharing the same track, à la Full Throttle. And we can spot a backward spike on the concept-art.
  5. The Wildcat at Skyline Park is the loudest and most obnoxious coaster noise ever. Poor operators, having to stand next to it... (On the other hand, Sky Dragster is the quietest coaster at the park so far. )
  6. I had no idea they had an event in France, even if the Eiffel Tower is 30 min away from home.
  7. All these towers reminds me of a Solar System model:
  8. I see that my usage of the word "gimmick" made people talk a lot. Granted the inversions on RMC are not gimmicks in the sense as there are only there for the sake of it, but they do provide amazing feelings (although I've mixed feelings after riding Wildfire, but I won't base off my whole opinion on my only two runs). I was refering to gimmicks as opposed to the more traditional and proved elements. One one hand: a simple, large ejector hill ; on the other hand: pops of off-axis under flip side steps lateral airtime (yeah I came up with that one). Both can be really cool, it's just that the airtime hill is great and we know it, while the second is either a hit or miss, and sometimes more wacky looking than fun to ride. As for Top Thrill Dragster, I'd qualify it as a one-trick pony, without any negativity. It's just a fact, it's very short. Then again, skydiving can also be described as "just a jump".
  9. Well, I thought Jet Line was already really shiny with its new slightly greener color: Took on September 23rd. Anyway, it's a good thing they take care of this old fella, it's an awesome ride!
  10. I have a feeling Cedar Point asked RMC for an airtime-filled monster without any inversions or overbank gimmicks - which is great in my opinion, it's different from the other ones, and variety is always nice.
  11. Jet Line was already entirely painted last september.
  12. ^^ What is happening with Jet Line and Vilda Musen? There's a big tarp and scaffolding right on those coasters. ^ Sadly we didn't get to ride it (it was already closed at the time we finally decided to give it a try), but some people in our group took the tour and liked it pretty much.
  13. New construction video and some interesting curves starting to pop-up!
  14. Gröna Lund really feels like a dream. You remember Pinocchio, and when they go to Pleasure Island? Well, we came to the park by boat, and it's exactly what it feels like. It's charming and all over the top! There are improbable rides everywhere, it moves wherever you look, rides duel with each others, etc. And when the night comes, the center plaza become a concert spot. The day we went there, it was Dada Life, so some sort of EDM. The ambiance was crazy... and many rides where still open! It's quite something to do a stand-up tilt freefall above a concert pit, haha!
  15. Thank you for the updates, even if nothing is happening. I'm still very curious!
  16. HangOver was scheduled to have a LSM (or LIM?) drive system, but Vekoma didn't get that to work properly, and they went for a more standard lift instead. The attraction was delayed, and as a compensation they gave to Liseberg two S&S towers, as Vekoma was at the time the european dealer for the Utah-based company. The S&S towers are now gone from the park (they are in France now... Heck, just like HangOver!), but man they were fun!
  17. ADMIN EDIT: Please do not post anything from WDWNT on our site. They are a horrible group of people who have been banned from Disney events for posting stuff that they know they shouldn't. We do not want to associate with them at all. thanks.
  18. You're all jealous, Beston make rides that are literally Disney level! (video ripped off from SoCal Theme Parks 360 ) I love how they push the design thoughts all the way to making scary noises on purposes..: Or do they?
  19. This was the model involved: a Space Travel/Top Spin Ride BNST-20B from Beston.
  20. Here's the original video on Facebook (definitely DISTURBING). It seems like she is holding up the whole time, and is smashed against the ground.
  21. Pretty sure every RMC coaster ever created has an ejector hill. . . Like, you know... The entire ride. Haha, true that, but I meant ejector hills à la El Toro. Like, big hills, sustained ejector. My first and only RMC is Wildfire, and it kinda lacks one big hill. It's a succession of pop of air. Now I agree Storm Chaser do have two ejector hills, and I was very happy to see them! I just wish for a bigger RMC to feature them now.
  22. "// A RMC is being build with no infos from the park. - What was the last time a new coaster was built and we had no infos? - Well, we had Tempesto. - I mean, a custom coaster, like this RMC?" Maverick, Dragster and Outlaw Run were legitimate answers. He asked because new and custom layouts are more interesting, whereas clones such as Tempesto are not. I think it wasn't meant to go further than that. Sorry for the confusion. - Anyway, I'm really curious about what they'll do next with that layout! I love RMCs, but I often feel like they lack the large, basic elements such as an ejector hill... And it seems like they won't be twisting each inch of the track there, which is great.
  23. It matters in his question (which was "When, though, have we seen this much construction without having had an announcement and description of the layout?") because Tempesto (the answer given by coasterbill) was a cookie-cutter design so we knew what was up. In the other hand, RMC are all custom, and plus they usually made new elements/unexpected things. I hope it's clear, I don't get why you insisted on the fact it's the decision of the park not RMC. Thats was not the inquiry.
  24. I don't think so, this is the tires which bend them. During the course, they are only stretched between there two anchor points and thus have no reason to move (maybe they wiggle, tho, I don't know how tense it is). As for the Chance one, it seems that the outer tire is spring-loaded and can move. He doesn't mention it, but Brian from IOE did a cool video where you can see the hardware up close.
