We will for sure try out the middle row of the last car at some point during the day! Looks like we will be riding Beast in the front row at night. If it is as amazing as everyone says then it will be worth it! - - - - Thanks to everyone who provided feedback for our trip! Can't wait to get out to the park!! -

I might be in the minority here, but I am holding my breath for a "One Of A Kind" ride... Or at least a record breaking coaster. I mean... This is Cedar Point... They don't really build clones, or coasters that are not "One Of A Kind." Generally what they build is either a first, or it breaks a record in some way... But only time will tell for this coaster. I can not wait for the official press release. -

I'm with you. I'd like to know where the $15 million price tag came from. Because if so the coaster is going to end up smaller than Griffon. -

The last new Coaster in your Count
DoinItForTheFame replied to K1ngdaKa88's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Not sure which one was the "last" coaster of the day, but I got to add 4 new coasters to my coaster count recently! All at Luna Park/Coney Island! - Thunderbolt - Soarin' Eagle - Steeplechase - Cyclone (Pretty sure Cyclone was actually the last coaster ride of the day!) -
1.) How would it work? I really have no idea, but I imagine it would be some kind of LSM or LIM launch system. I don't really see RMC doing a hydraulic launch... But that's just me. 2.) How fast do they expect a woodie to go in a small amount of time? I would assume that a wooden launched coaster would accelerate just like a steel launched coaster. As for how fast in a small amount of time... I think that would depend on what the layout looks like after the launch. I also think it would depend on what the park was wanting. If it were a park like Dollywood I don't really see them getting a 0-80mph in 2.2 seconds coaster. But I could see a park like Cedar Point getting a 0-80mph in 2.2 seconds coaster. I think the launch speed is really something the park and RMC would sit down and work out together. 3.) RMC... Wood... Kingda Ka??? Moving on.

Thanks! Glad to know about FOF and Firehawk. They will for sure be the first two things we hit up! We are going to do night rides on Banshee and Beast since we have heard amazing things about them! Do you have an preference on "the best" or a good seat on Beast? Also, on a scale of 1-10 (one being awful, and 10 being not bad at all) how rough would you rate Beast?? -

So we have a trip coming up to Kings Island in a few weeks. We will be at the park on a Friday. Neither of us have ever been to Kings Island, and we really don't "know where to start" with the park. We will be getting to the park at open, and staying till 10pm. We have already bought our Fast Lane Plus so hopefully this will help with wait times a little? Is there any specific order we should hit the attractions? Are there any attractions that are not on Fast Lane Plus that we might want to do first before they get busy?? Also, any places to eat in the park that you all highly recommend? Thanks in advance! -

Okay, this makes no sense to me. (Or maybe I am just reading it wrong.) You are trying to rule out this being a Dive Machine by saying "the frame spine height is about 3.5x the rail diameter. In the picture directly above, that height is about 5x the rail diameter." ... But you then compare this to a Dive Machine that "appears to vary from about 5x rail diameter to about 3.5x rail diameter?" Do we think that MAYBE B&M knows what they are doing when it comes to fabricating track, and maybe there is a reason the spine is not the same size throughout the track? Maybe the spine is thickest at the bottom of the drops where g-forces are highest, and the spine is thinner in places the g-forces are lower? ... I mean... that makes sense to me, and that is clearly what they did on Baron 1898. If you work at Busch Gardens Williamsburg then you would know you should never talk poorly about attractions in your place of employment. A park employee complaining about attractions in their park, GOOD attractions at that, really does not sit well among coaster enthusiast... or anyone for that matter. I mean I guess I can see why you would think Griffon is boring after its first drop. I mean Immelmann's are so boring. B&M should just stop putting them on their coasters. Clearly no one likes them... And, UGH!!! What were they thinking having the drop off the MCBR be 130 ft at 90 degrees so boring. Followed by another Immelmann?? Ugh, what a waste of time. You know... now that I think of it, they should probably just tear it down and put in a Vekoma SLC... I mean that would obviously be a much better, more thrilling, less boring ride. If Dive Machines are such awful coasters... Why do people LOVE them??? I will never for the life of me understand why so many people dislike dive machines so much. Sure Griffon and SheiKra have pretty "simple" layouts, but that was when B&M was first really getting going with the Dive Machines. Dive machines are starting to feature more elements like zero g rolls, and corkscrews. There is no telling what B&M and Cedar Point have come up with for this Dive Machine. Also, as for the whole $15 million debate...Griffon cost $15,600,000 in 2006 that would be about $18,401,577.38 today. So either Cedar Point is getting a Dive Machine that is much smaller than Griffon, or the $15 million price that is being rumored is wrong? As I feel like I have had to say 15 million times in this thread Cedar Point is not going to go out and build a Dive Machine, or ANY roller coaster for that fact that is not going to thrill, and WOW their guest. (Aside from Pipescream, even though we all know that is not really a roller coaster.) I personally do not "boring" "force-less" Dive Machine coming to Cedar Point. I will say, as I have said before. Anyone who has actually ridden SheiKra, or Griffon, or both will know that they are not boring force-less rides. They drops are amazing. The holding brake at the top does just what it is suppose to do. It scares the SH!T out of you as you hang there waiting to drop. As your entire body weight is put onto the harness as you hang there you get one of those true "Restraint don't fail me now" moments. After a great first drop you are thrown into high positive g's followed by an inversion, more high g's and another almost vertical (or vertical drop depending on the coaster.) Not to mention all of the coasters is incredibly smooth. NOTHING about that screams boring to me. I feel like Cedar Point pushed the envelope for so many years with Magnum, MF, TTD, and Maverick that everyone got use to record breaking scream machines... and now that they are simply adding a GOOD new coaster everyone is disappointed because it is not a world record breaking 1,500ft coaster with a 0-500mph launch in 1 second. If Kings Island were to get a Dive Machine everyone would be super excited, and talking about what a great addition to the park it is. . . Yet Cedar Point is getting one and no one has anything positive to say about it. Well I will be more than happy to ride the new Dive Machine, and I will not get off complaining about how force-less it was, or how boring it was, or how it could have been 5,000ft taller, or 200mph faster, or how I hate the way the colors look because "OH MY GOD CEDAR POINT IS GETTING ANOTHER RED/ORANGE COASTER?! WTF?!?!" I will get off being glad that there is another great coaster at Cedar Point. But I guess I am in a minority on this. #EndRant I don't work there. Guess what, I still know about it firsthand! Also I know where my shift key is. This made my day! Glad to know I am not the only one who does not have to work at a park to know about a coaster firsthand. -
I guess I'm looking forward to Cedar Points new dive machine the most, because apparently as much as everyone is complaining about it... "it's not going to be a huge hit for the park" -- "No one's going to like it." -- "I'll ride it once and that will be enough" -- "I've been on SheiKra why waste my time with this one?" Looks like it will have the shortest line of any of the new 2016 coasters.

This. Because before it was complain about the fact the coaster is a dive machine, and now it's complain and out the color of the coaster. Clearly most coaster enthusiasts are impossible to please. Instead of being happy that Cedar Point is getting a dive machine. Which you know... there are two of in the US. . .Everyone feels the need to complain about every little detail with this coaster... When in all actuality we know nothing for certian about this coaster yet. -

Interesting color combination. Can't wait to see the layout for this ride. -
Every time I read a post in this thread it makes me think... This is why they tell you to keep your arms, and legs instead the train at all times. I myself almost never put my arms up on roller coasters. Not because I am "scared," not because I feel the need to "hang on so I don't fly out." I simply never have the desire to put my hands up. I don't white knuckle the ride, I just keep my arms down, and near the restraint. Not sure why. I guess I am just getting to lazy to want to keep my arms up.

Every time I am at a park! (Most recently last month, but we have one for our trip to KI, and Cedar Point next week!) When was the last time you went to the movies? -
So glad to see this is still progressing!!! The model looks simply amazing! There are times I find myself looking at the photo trying to figure out if I am looking at a real roller coaster, or if I am looking at the model. The amount of detail you are putting into this project is simply amazing. Keep up the good work!!!

I second the tunnel at the bottom of Titan's first drop. Sitting in the front row, at the top of the drop you swear that there is no way that train is going to fit in the tiny little tunnel. It still makes me duck every time I ride the ride. Another one that I LOVED was when Dueling Dragons/Dragon Challenge still dueled. The foot choppers in the near miss elements were amazing!! I'm sure I will think of more, these are just the first ones that came to mind!
