The park might have cleaned things up in the offseason, but this plan can still burn them. Even though the people will come back to the park, the park loses the admission fee. Food and games for one person most likely won't add up to $40. What happens if a ride is closed all season like RoS? Does everyone basically get a season pass because they can keep getting free tickets?

New ride coming to Frontier City
coasterkid124 replied to sushi-x's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ There is one in Mexico. TPR made a video that's on Youtube. I would get the link but I'm too lazy. Just type in pregnant lady walk through and it should appear. -
There always seems to be one stoner telling his crazy stories of how he got stuck upside down on the ride you're waiting for even if it doesn't have any loops. They may also go on to tell their life story including the ACDC concert they went to twenty years ago and what they ate last night. I could go on all day but another one of my pet peeves is when a person is told that they are too large to ride, an some of them go on to throw a tantrum holding up the line for others

Game: Careful What You Wish For

Granted, but it would be closed all year while trying to put on new Timerliner invert cars I wish I owned Six Flags so I wouldn't put in used rides from other parks. -

My brackets so far are way off I saw LA Chi Det And NYR winning with ease. While Detroit and New York are tied, LA and Chi have had bad starts. I'm the one of those people who believe that the Red Wings will pull a major upset. -
I thought the same thing but another poster brought up the good point that it will virtually guarantee that person will come back to the park and spend money on parking, food, and merchandise. It's a good move as the park's rep will go back up after this season. (Well hopefully go back up). No good rep means less guests which means no Lake Monster.

^I feel the same as I prayed that the curse of Intamin wouldn't strike on the way up. -
There are catches. For instance if it rains, it needs to be constant rain for at least 90 mins and some rides need to be closed. As for the ride service guarantee, I feel like for instance if Ranger blows a hydraulic valve and is down for the season, the guarantee may not count. Maybe it will, but then people would ask for a free ticket every visit.

You can add IRat to my list. Forgot about that one. -

I haven't got to Full Throttle yet but I would also like to ride Banshee, a Megalite, and Goliath at SFGAm since Outlaw Run was really good. -

I have a feeling that the Blues can still choke. As I live in Buffalo I always felt like Ryan Miller is a super overrated player. Right now he's just lucky that he has a good team around him. This is coming from a diehard Red Wings fan. -

I think this is very very unlikely, but maybe could we see the Led Zeppelin coaster from Hard Rock Park? -

^^ And there are parks like Six Flags New England who removed Shipwreck Falls to put in a used, often down, and rough Giant Inverted Boomerang. I'm 100% sure that Holiday World would never do this, I just wanted to point that out. -
Well it looks like the park is paying attention to the little details this year as I just received a voucher in the mail with some exciting new guarantees. As well as the weather guarantee there are ride service guarantees as well. I also included a schedule of events happening in May that was also in the voucher. I hope that the pictures are readable as I was using my phone. If you can't see some words it is basically saying that if a ride is down for more than 4 hours you get a free ticket even if you are a pass holder. This doesn't apply for all rides, as it says "select rides". Nik Wallenda will also be doing a special stunt on May 24th. Edit: The website does not yet mention the rides that are eligible for the guarantees.

Holiday World (HW) Discussion Thread

Well I guess sometimes it does work, but overall parks will tend to stick to their ideas. For rides like Whizzer it worked, but in other cases like Big Bad Wolf and more recently Rolling Thunder it was less successful. Giraffica was not a big ride (popularity wise) and a lot of people don't really mind it's removal. -

It's people like that, that are the reason why some theme parks just start removing rides without announcing it anymore. She should be happy because a new big attraction will go in it's place and the park still has a great water park. -

I don't think that their first steel coaster would be anything too major. They still have a lot of expansion room that can be used later. I would expect maybe a Firechaser Express like coaster as their first steel coaster. -

This may not be the end of Giraffica as I wouldn't be surprised to see other parks interested. It is only 5 years old now and could be highly profitable despite the lift issues.
