I don't think that it has anything to do with Lake Monster. If you expand it, both people that like it are DJs, so maybe its just some abbreviation or joke between them. If it were really a teaser it would say something with more meaning (ex. GCI, RMC, or maybe part numbers like Kings Island did with Banshee)

^^Six Flags sure didn't cover up Yolocoaster too well. Besides, the ride ops must think that it's okay to talk about it now seeing that it has hit the news about Predator. I think that I'm the only one that still wants Sidewinder in the future too, but in my opinion, Lake Monster would be the one that I want to be built first.

Knoebels Discussion Thread

I am happy to see this ride finally finished. Hopefully after all of the delays, it will finally be able to open soon. Although it is just a family coaster, it is very unique and a nice addition for the park. -
^Sundays tend to be less crowded as Saturdays, but more crowded than a weekday. There is a special event this Sunday, so crowds will most likely be higher. RoS and Blast Off will have the longest wait times, both averaging around an hour. If you are lucky, sometimes RoS will have a 40 minute wait as long as maintenance is well. Predator and Mind Eraser sometimes are a 20 minute wait, but can reach up to 45 minutes. Viper and Boomerang vary, depending on operators. Expect a 20 minute wait for those. Motocoaster may be a 30 minute wait if the line is long. As for water rides and the water park, all of the in park water rides have long waits. The water park will be even more packed with Cuda Falls being down. Big Kahuna can reach an hour and a half wait, with Tornado and Swirl City 40-45 minutes. Edit: All of those wait times are for the back seat on coasters, so the front will most likely be longer.

I will hopefully be up at the park this weekend. I will try to investigate, get pics, and ask around a little to get some info. I am pretty sure that this will use topper track, and GCI may help with structural engineering. Although it seems wrong for a coaster manufacturer to help a competitor, as long as they are getting paid, they do not care.

I really have learned not to trust anything unless it has officially been announced in some way by the park. I remember last season, there was a wild rumor of Thunderbolt from Celebration City coming to the park. The dark ride was just really an idea that spread like wildfire and turned into a rumor. I do believe that Lake Monster will happen, but maybe not next season. I would have suspected to see signs of the new ride like surveying happening by now. As much as I would love to see this happen for next season, it may not. I can't wait for the official announcement, which I would expect near Fright Fest.

Darien Lake never really had big events or teasers. I first heard of Motocoaster and Splashtown on the local news. Blast Off was the largest announcement... and it was pretty pathetic. No events, or major announcements were ever made, and I'm not absolutely sure, but I think that RoS was originally announced on a season pass letter in the mail.

Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread

Interesting, on the Kings Island app, Banshee is listed as the Bat. When you click on one of the links, Banshee stuff appears. -

Banshee looks amazing. I love the color scheme, the trains, and the long layout. It really seems like a cool idea to design the ride to reach top speed half way through. I cannot wait to ride this and see what the experience will be like. -

^I wasn't talking about this coaster, I was saying that if B&M ever made a launched coaster, the first one wouldn't be something as big for the first time. Again, I could be wrong, but that's just my opinion. -

Definitely not a wing coaster or invert. Most likely a sit down coaster like Incredible Hulk. If we do see a B&M launched coaster one day, I wonder what type of launch it would be. Hydraulic, LIM/LSM, or Flywheel? I seriously doubt a pneumatic launch. -

^It wasn't. The park had something to do with the launch segment. -
I would expect Predator to close when daily operation stops. In the past, when rides were closed for removal, it was the beginning of September. Demolishing the structure won't take too long, but pouring footers over the lake and actually building the structure will take the longest, depending how the weather acts. When things start to thaw in the spring, testing will most likely start. I forget where I read it, but most of the coasters will only operate when temps are over 50 (maybe it was 40, I'm not 100% sure).

Best and Worst Rides for Maintenance
coasterkid124 replied to Solipsisto's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Now that you mention Chance, I'm not sure if the Chance Chaos has been mentioned yet or not. Most that ran were nightmares. At Darien Lake, the biggest and most problematic ride currently is Ride of Steel. Even something as simple as a person being to large to ride can have a ten minute delay. Just my last visit, a mechanic was trying to manually release a train from the brake section. Something shot out at him and cut him badly. Then the passengers were evacuated via ladder. -
Best and Worst Rides for Maintenance
coasterkid124 replied to Solipsisto's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Yup, the shock absorbers were a huge problem, and a lot were replaced every day. Once the problem got under control, more problems led to the closure of the ride. -
I have a feeling that we won't have to wait much longer for an announcement. People have gotten pretty angry when the park made announcements in March, so last year, the announcement was made earlier. With Herschend in control now, I believe that the announcement will come more towards Fright Fest, so that Predator can be closed early if it is getting demolished.

^I don't see the name as a problem at all. Hershey reused Wildcat, there's Ravine Flyer II, and so on. With all of the evidence that I see, I still believe that the coaster will be an invert. -

I'm in doubt of that page being real. Anyone can take a screenshot of a page and simply edit it. Besides, why would they use a pic of Gatekeeper's layout?
