  1. This coaster is running Timberliners, right?
  2. Must have been on the lowest setting because I don't know if you went in the water park, but the water was freezing in both Swirl City and Flotation Station.
  3. ^They were when they opened but now the heaters aren't used.
  4. The water isn't heated. Tornado tends to be the coldest because the water just keeps circulating all day and doesn't rest much.
  5. When you ask an op what's wrong with a broken ride and they say "I don't know". Well if you don't know then how do you know the ride is broken in the first place?
  6. This is probably a weird question, but does anyone know of any manufacturers of signs? I'm just curious.
  7. It's good to see an old Arrow stay alive. They did a good job with the restoration too. Hopefully it lasts the park a good long while.
  8. I think that a Zac Spin would be good, because of its popularity with the GP, but HW can do much better.
  9. There have been some really beautiful logo designs for rides lately. Some of my favorites include Leviathan, Banshee, and Wild Eagle. My question is basically, are these signs designed and created in park, or is there a company that makes these type of signs? I would think that parks design the logos, but they do not make them themselves. Does anyone know more?
  10. Well the bad news is that the map won't fit on my scanner, so I just took a pic of the middle.
  11. I got a new map yesterday. I can scan it if anyone wants to see.
  12. I know it's been mentioned before, but after the park is done being focused on a new slide complex should be put in. There's a good plot of land between Swirl City and Tornado.
  13. If the park were to build something really big, they should build up the area by twister. They could remove the speedway, and there is a huge area behind that. Until then, they should at least do a little more work with the hill, because it's an eyesore. It's basically a huge pile of dirt.
  14. I was just saying the size of the actual hill. If you clear that and possibly remove the slingshot, the space is much bigger. The area could easily fit Predator's footprint if cleared. Then the locker building can be removed and used as the new entrance to a ride. It really surprised me to see UFO's pad still there. I think that they may reuse it someday.
  15. If they still have the Tornado ride in storage, that could be a good permanent installation in the building.
  16. Hmm.... The phrase "another loop" is thrown in again. Will GreenBrier Grill be replaced by a new looping ride?
  17. For some reason they can't seem to get RoS going good during the rain. I think a lot of it has to do with the timing and the braking. The brakes stop the train too quickly in the rain and the train slowly coasts back into the station. The PLC probably gets funky too.
  18. Boomerang? You said throwing us into "another loop".
  19. After much debating, I ended up going to the season pass preview day. I did not take any pictures, because it wasn't really worth it, and another member already said that they would. Here's a trip report. Ride of Steel: Closed all day. A group of ops were standing around not knowing what to do. The blue train was on the track, with the red nowhere in sight. Yet. Also, the food stand in front of RoS was in the midst of being painted. Predator: One train op. I had a decent two rides today. No signs of Lake Monster. Blast Off: Nothing special, got one ride before it closed. Mind Eraser: Wasn't able to ride before it broke down. Viper: One ride. The ride ran decent, and it will run two trains this year as the side accents on this train were blue. The entrance sign got painted, and the mini golf course is still abandoned. Boomerang: Did not ride. Motocoaster: Closed Twister: The ride today was EXTREMELY WEAK. No flips, and a boring cycle. The gondola brake even had trouble stopping the ride. UFO: Ride pad still empty, no movement. Ranger: Actually running, and an 8 flip cycle. Cuda Falls: The area has been completely cleared. The slides and supports are gone, and the pool has been filled. To one reader's excitement, Floodgate Falls is still standing. The bridge is also still up, as well as the locker building. The hill is not that large, but the area is actually smaller then some are hyping it up as. A small coaster like a Eurofighter would fit no problem, but more work would be needed for a large attraction. Galaxy Theater: The building is still bare, and the front was painted an ugly indigo color. Major work is still needed for when Nik Wallenda's show begins in June. Overall, some aspects of the park look better, but a lot still needs work. I hope that the five year plan includes a lot of attractions, because the park is starting to look more bare year after year. I covered everything that I recall, but don't hesitate to ask any questions.
  20. I just have to say. I have been reading this thread for a while but never posted, but this is one of the best parks on the forum. How bad is the lag for this park? I can barely build a quarter of the available land and it lags really bad.
  21. Led Zep is still for sale. You can see it on italintl.com
  22. I said it before in the thread, but I think that if the park were to build a steel coaster, it wouldn't be some huge hypercoaster at first. I could very much see a Eurofighter or Sky Rocket like coaster because it appeals more to families and takes up a smaller space. If it is successful (which it should be) then the park could expand and build a larger one.
  23. When Astroworld closed, Six Flags decided to some most rides to other parks. Some went up immediately like Big Kahuna at Darien Lake but others sat in storage. Some rides were moved to the two NY SF parks probably due to location. Great Adventure, SF New England, Darien Lake, La Ronde etc. were in a relatively close range. Were there plans to set it up at Great Escape? I don't know but there may have been until it was decided that Great Escape would be a family park. I remember at one time there were plans to develop it into a major park in the chain. To this day the Batman coaster sits in a lot across the street from Darien Lake rusting away. It may have been set up somewhere else is SF still had control of the park, but when it was sold, nobody really knew what to do with it.
