  1. ^ If recent history is any indicator, they'll probably pay for the cheaper version and spin it off as a completely brand new attraction.
  2. ^ I'm assuming that the new boats would cost about the same as upgrading to a modern dark ride. Might as well upgrade if your going to spend that kind of money anyways.
  3. ^^ Auburn runs more than three plays, but it isn't necessarily the plays they have to scheme, it's all the different types of formations and motions that Auburn shows teams. Gus Malzahn isn't stupid, he'll have all kinds of new stuff to throw at Florida St. As mentioned above, if Auburn executes their plays, Florida St won't stop them.
  4. It amazes me that Auburn's offense is the same concept of a traditional wishbone high school offense. These SEC defenses are finding out that playing assignment football is harder at the FBS level than the FCS level. Maybe they'll finally start scheduling some FBS non-conference opponents who run these types of offenses, so they'll be better prepared when it come to conference play. I've always thought that this new playoff system that is coming next year would end Alabama's dominance of college football. I believe that there is only a week or two between the playoff and the championship. Saban won't have a month to memorize and scheme for every play the opposing team is going to run.
  5. This is the 5th year in a row that a team from Alabama will be playing in the national championship. Too bad that the bitterness between Alabama and Auburn fans will never allow them to realize how amazing that is.
  6. They're saving the tallest parts of the structure until worst part of winter is over. High winds, and cold temperatures are not ideal for operating a big crane.
  7. Holidog Funtown. I believe it was removed in 1998. I actually somewhat remember playing in Holidog Funtown during its opening season.
  8. ^ I think SFSTL got ripped off at that price. 7 CCI's were built in 2000. The Boss was the most expensive and longest of the bunch and it was never viewed as the best. Just goes to show that you don't need the tallest, fastest, or longest ride to have a great ride. If I'm going to spend 10 million dollars on a wooden roller coaster, I'd want the best design possible.
  9. I've always been curious about this. With HW being in Santa Claus, Indiana. Why don't they put on some type of Christmas event?
  10. So let me get this straight, Chris Peterson turns down the USC job, but accepts the Washington job? http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/10088337/washington-huskies-hire-chris-petersen-boise-state-broncos Also, I saw a tweet about Lane Kiffin possibly becoming Florida's new OC.
  11. Like Okie St, Michigan St has quietly had a very impressive season. I feel both schools have probably gotten a little shafted in the polls, but that's another argument. I would really like to see Michigan St get to the Rose Bowl. I think them and Stanford would make the 100th Rose Bowl a very entertaining game. Of course, Arizona St could pull of the upset. Stanford has been inconsistent with their performance this year.
  12. Since TGG was the main designers (mostly Larry Bill) at CCI, maybe we could go ahead and add your favorite CCI coaster on here as well. I'll go head and start. I've rode three CCI's The Raven, The Legend and The Boss. I would rank them in that order. After reading other peoples thoughts on CCI's, I think that The Raven has probably been they're most consistent coaster, besides Boulder Dash. I say that based on rankings (not the Golden Tickets) and how they've held up over time. What's some of your favorite CCI's? Here's a list of all the coasters they've designed and built. 13. ^ Lake Rudolph was owned by Will and Dan Koch's brother, Phillip, but he sadly passed away earlier this year. I don't know who took over the campground, but I'm pretty sure it's still in the Koch family.
  14. ^ That's a good point. I just think it's going to be really hard to put one in with the way the park is currently constructed.
  15. Anytime I think of a chair lift, I think of Cedar Point, probably because it was the only one I've ever rode. That chair lift goes straight down the midway on a flat piece of ground. The problem with HW is that the current park was constructed without a thought of ever having a transportation system, not to mention HW's crazy topography. A chair lift would have to navigate above trees (HW doesn't like to get rid of trees), above current rides, and above pathways. Then you have to worry about people throwing things from the chair lift. I think that a chair lift would be too much trouble to put in and make work. I think a train is probably more of the route HW will go. They can navigate it around the park without having to change the infrastructure of the park significantly.
  16. ^ They're small and medium sized now, but I believe they still have around 100 acres to develop on. My guess would be that they'll eventually end up gong across the road with the theme park. I'm pretty sure they own that huge field across from Highway 162.
  17. ^^This is exactly why they didn't bring him back. They would've had to assemble an all-star coaching staff around him for SC to be successful. I think you could use another LSU example with Les Miles. Started to turn the corner at Okie ST then jumped ship for a much better LSU program that Saban left behind. Of course SC is not in the kind of shape that LSU was in when Miles took over. Speaking of Miles, he is one of my favorite coaching personalities out there, but I have to wonder if this is going to have any effect on him? http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/college-football/news/20130910/osu-introduction/
  18. I've always thought HW could use a transportation system in the park once they get a little bigger. I believe that there is 100 ft elevation difference from the entrance to the Thanksgiving section. I always thought a monorail that went through the park and waterpark would be cool. Maybe it could take an adventure into the woods too!
  19. RMC only prefabricates their track. They build the actual bents on sight like any other wooden coaster. Intamin cuts every piece of wood (Track and Structure) and is numbered to go in a certain spot on the ride. This is where the term plug-and-play comes from. The way RMC constructs their coasters is quite different from GCI or MVR, who poor their actual footers on sight. They also don't tighten the bolts that holds the structure in the footers until they're actually done with the ride. This allows the crew to get the slope and angle of track just the way they want it. I also believe that they brace the structure together to keep it from moving or giving, like you would see in a normal wooden coaster. This is very different from how most traditional wooden coasters are constructed, but goes a long way into helping the ride keep it's original form for 20+ years.
  20. I actually think that a park could be pulled of here in Southern Illinois. A lot of people don't realize that this area has great potential for tourism. It would definitely have to be geared more towards a waterpark than a theme park, but this area could support a small theme park IMO. Speaking of a theme park in Southern Illinois, I've always dreamed of having one in front of the Garden of Gods with the rock formations looking over it. My fantasy theme park would go right bellow these rock formations.
  21. ^ Didn't realize that. Thanks for correcting me!
  22. Even though I'm 100% confident that this ride will be completely safe, the structure looks sketchy as hell, but not as sketchy as the barrel-roll on Iron Rattler.
  23. Besides SFOT, SFSTL is only original SF owned park. You think they take a little bit more pride and making sure one of their original parks was one of the best. It seems that SFOT got the great rides and SFSTL got the great management. Corporate is going to put the rides where the money is going to be made, so something tells me this isn't a flip of a coin, but it has something to do with the lack of profit SFSTL produces. I don't know what type of numbers the park has in attendance/profit, so this is just pure speculation on my part.
  24. I wonder if some school will give Coach O a chance to be a head coach? No matter where he goes, he probably won't make as much money as he would've at SC. Apparently Pat Haden offered to make him one of the highest paid assistants in college football. I know Haden wanted to hire someone quickly so they could get a head start on recruiting. I wonder how much that played into his decision to hire Steve Sarkisian, instead of waiting on a big name coach from the NFL?
  25. ^ Lol Doesn't The Legend interact with the waterpark enough?
