^^ I believe that the employe parking lot will eventually make it's way across the road. I think they own that land. We would probably see some type of tunnel be built like they did for Legend parking lot. -

The Voyage usually runs good until daily two-train operation starts. That's when the track usually starts getting beat up. -
I think they only need a week to test this ride, IMO. They can do test runs all through the night if they have to. They'll probably have to go through a period of going through the soft polyurethane wheel to the hard ones. Getting the trains and track broken in won't be a problem. After that, all that needs to happen is for the ride to pass the state inspection. With the world class engineering from RMC, the ride should pass with flying colors.

^ Just because a ride is smooth doesn't mean it's family-friendly. It's how extreme the ride is that determines how family-friendly it is. RMC is known for pushing it to the extreme. -

No offense, but there is nothing that screams family-friendly about a RMC coaster. The Voyage has a 48 inch requirement and I don't consider it family-friendly. Not saying RMC couldn't design a family-friendly coaster, but that doesn't seem like their style. -
^ That's why they put in a motor that can run the chain at a good constant speed, handle the weight of the train and run consistently throughout the season. It's lot like taking care of the engine in a car. If you change the oil, make sure everything is in proper condition, and don't do things that puts stress on the car and engine. The car and engine will last a very long time. It won't give you any major problems.

^ I've said it before and I'll say until the day they announce whatever they're building, I think it's going to be a Mack. It just makes sense IMO. It would be two of the great families in the industry working together (the Koch's still own HW). Then you combine the fact that Mack takes theming very seriously with HW taking claim as the first theme park ever. HW also seems to have a recent commitment to theming, judging on the recent projects they've been working on going into this season. IMO, it would be a win-win situation for both parties involved. -

^ Yeah especially for the plot land that is rumored to be used for this coaster. It's not exactly flat, neither is any other piece of land at Holiday World. It wouldn't look right at all. -

That's beauty of the tweet. What could they be talking about? We'll have to wait and see. -

They also spent more money on their water coaster, Mammoth. I think the park knows what type of money they're going to have to spend to build a steel coaster. You have to remember that you can't put a price on what a steel coaster might do for Holiday World in terms of publicity and marketability. The Voyage has brought them a lot of attention and still does. If this is indeed a steel coaster, I think it will set a record. My guess is it will probably break the record for most launches on a single coaster. Who knows, they might go for the most seconds of airtime on a steel coaster. Something that brings a lot of attention and publicity to the park. It's probably still too early to speculate, but who cares? It's fun! -

Take this for what it's worth. Screamscape is just reporting what is given to them, but apparently Screamscape has Holiday World "spies" and they're reporting that land is being cleared around the 2nd hill on The Voyage. It's supposed to do with the rumored 2015 steel coaster. Doesn't look like much, but the photos look pretty recent. Here's the link: http://www.screamscape.com/html/holiday_world.htm Here's the two photos the "spies" sent in. -

^^^ I think that I could have worded that better. I was just a bit skeptical of changing the whole coaster experience (which I hope is true). There is nothing wrong with it and I absolutely love the fact that you guys give a lot attention to your coaster cats. Most other places, their work would go unappreciated. -

Just saw this on the parks twitter. Don't know how much of it was a bit of self-promotion, but considering the amount of work it appears was put into the Voyage. I like to think that this is true. Edit- That's Park President Matt, for those who didn't know. -

^ It could be a multiple attractions type of deal. The year they added the Voyage, they added Gobbler Getaway, and they also added Bahari River to the waterpark. -

If the rumors are true, I'm looking forward to the hints and teasing that is to come. If it is indeed a coaster, we should hopefully get an announcement earlier than the past two years. -

I didn't say they had a drought every year. When they do, that water from the Ohio and those lakes you mentioned go straight to those famous corn fields that surround Holiday World and most of Southern Indiana for irrigation. But if we wanna be more specific, Holiday World has their own water towers. Two of them to be exact. One of them holds over 500,000 gallons of water. If I remember correctly, the waterpark uses all of that water and that water tower has to be refilled everyday that the waterpark is open. When you add a drought and 2,000 people who are also using water everyday, it becomes a little hard to replenish all of that water fast enough to meet the demand. Most of the time, Holiday World will voluntarily shut down a ride that uses a lot water to help conserve it. They did so two years ago with Pilgrims Plunge when didn't rain in this area for what seemed like 3 months. -

^ As far as I know, the town of Santa Claus has only griped about how much water HW uses during the summer and that's when they only have a severe drought. I don't think the town is going to gripe about a tall structure, but if it's really close to the state highway, then the state might have an issue. I don't there has been a picture of the actual swinging ship for The Mayflower posted on here. It looks great! -

From my understanding, the sensors on the ride were very sensitive and caused the ride to shut down frequently for no reason. Most of the time, it took the mechanics over half a day to get the ride back up and running. I don't think the Cedar Point accident had anything to do with them removing the ride. They shut the ride down a week before the Cedar Point accident happened last season, so Intamin could try and find a way to improve the reliability of the ride. While this is probably true, it won't stop the GP from asking what happened to the ride. It's kinda hard not to notice it missing. How many people from the GP actually read the Holiblog? I think the park should get ahead of the storm and post a couple of pictures of the ride being removed on Twitter and Facebook, so they don't have to answer a million questions this summer. Is this gonna stop people from asking? No, but it would probably help IMO. It also might help if they go ahead and hint toward a replacement, so their isn't so much of a negative vibe around the news.
