  1. the one ERT that was awesome that I went to was "Slurpee" ert from the year before last. I think there were 3-4 days where a few rides were open for an hour after the park. you buy a slurpee and get a wristband to stay. couldn't even fill a goliath train because they ran two. so, only had to get off if you wanted a different seat. green lantern was open, but i didn't bother. the other ride was drop of doom. after a few cycles, they were waiting for people to run it. multiple rides without getting off being just my nephew and i. the full throttle passholder thing was pretty lame. i don't remember if it was 2 hours or 1, but you got to be there before the park opened like at 7am, or something. you didn't really know until you got there that you only got to ride once. but, i knew it was a possibility with the wording. only good thing was, we didn't get kicked out, and just waited until they opened the line up for the GP, and had a very short wait for our second ride. second ride didn't stop in the tunnel and we had a roll back, back into the tunnel. they let us re-ride without getting off so we were lucky to get a third ride.
  2. can you link to this video? i've never seen one with the block brake in it. what i have read or seen is that they have 90 seconds to dispatch the train to match up to race. easy for the average crew at a great place with guests that don't screw around, not so easy at magic mountain. i think at worst, it can at least race occasionally by having one train wait for a bit on the block out of the station, and then let it go when the one in the station is ready. i'd be happy if it had some sort of dueling every few circuits. anyway, looking forward to today's updates!
  3. that old return track and whole lift support area sure cleaned up well all newly painted!
  4. instagram is awesome. unless you heard it from the dippin dots guy, it's not legit. anyway, i'll wait for pics and video of it going around the circuit. someone says it's run, other guy says no. lol
  5. it seems like they have more structural stuff to do with all the wood i see in some pics. but maybe they can run it anyway. WC definitely isn't done with painting, but i'm not sure on all the structural stuff. my guess with alan being there means something good.
  6. i believe it's there way of doing it with the tours. i love seeing the tour updates. stuff that would be nice to see is ongoing construction stuff they do. like, the tidal wave wall, the jet stream painting, painting at hurricane harbor. i just think with a great coaster like TC being built, they could update/hype it much better with more inside info on construction. anyway, i think it would be awesome if they really are that close to testing to let all the construction tour guys witness that.
  7. I'll agree they post, but not much interesting stuff. no videos of construction, or what's going on. just basically advertisements to come to the park. would have loved to see something like the goliath insider. or the rougarou files. cedar point, tony clark, and crew do an awesome job with social media. look at how good Rob is, the site, forum and events would suck if he wasn't so good at doing it, imo. to me, sfmm is doing basic social media.
  8. if anyone's there, go yell out for Alan and ask him when it's going to run, he's onsite today. or yes, there will probably be an answer when testing will start wed during the construction tour i read people talking about.
  9. Just wait. I'm guessing a little after the park closes at 6, so maybe 7? i don't think it's that close to testing.
  10. seems so simple, huh. i assume it's park by park, since it's different with each Six Flags. let's not even mention how great some other parks are, or maybe i sort of just did. lol Magic Mountain must not think it's important. i wish they did. i enjoy reading updates and inside construction stuff from the park directly.
  11. SFMM doesn't do social media like some of the other Six Flags parks, unfortunately. But, I hope it happens, when that time comes. Wicked Cyclone's looks great.
  12. I'm having to agree here. I've only ridden X2 twice, my second ride was so much worse than the first. Before going to MM I had read all the tips on here about what row/seat etc etc to get a good ride, but I muffed it up and we got on the last row, not the first (I'm pretty sure most people would do that on their first time). The ride was bearable, but the bouncy legs issue was there. Second time around two years later, I made sure to get inside FIRST row. I was at the park by myself so I can't remember if anyone took the seat next to me. But holy moly, the ride beat the crap out of me. I tried leaving me legs loose, tried pressing them into the seat, but they still got flung around the place, my calves were aching by the time I got off. And my head, oh my poor head. The last little bit (whatever it is, i have no idea, it's all turned too mush) absolutely killed me. I was dead. I got off, walked down the exit, across the bridge and just had to sit down. I was sitting down for like 15 minutes trying to rearrange my brain and internal organs back to their right spot. I'm going again next year, and will very much be questioning whether i give it another go. pretty much my experience every time i decide to give it another chance. it's like when i try some seafood, then say, yup, still don't like it.
  13. it's the rotation is what i felt was going to die from the single time i rode. a little girl and small mom on one side, and my buddy and i on the other. the final rotation into the station really hurt me. all i really remember is trying to protect myself from harm. i thought i had just gotten a bad ride because of the weight difference. but when i saw the interview with Alan Schilke kind of explaining why he thinks it sucks, it made perfect sense. i did ride soon after it opened, so, i'm not sure how much it changed. but that one ride makes me not even give it a second chance cause it was so bad for me. it's probably half the ride, and half me. shoot, i used to marathon Viper over and over, can't do that anymore. as long as the line keeps others from Twisted Colossus, it's welcome at SFMM to me.
  14. your diamondback experience is crazy. last year, the day before banshee bash, and day of, they were getting trains out in 45 seconds. i was so impressed! i mean, they come get your stuff you're holding and take it to the bins for you. i rode so many times too. hope it's just some newbs working and it improves to what i got to experience.
  15. didn't supreme scream used to bounce a lot more when it was first installed?
  16. my feeling as well. also, if they could just bring back Ghostrider to it's original glory without those horrible trims. I know, wrong thread.
  17. there's going to be some super awesome moments, but there won't be 18 ejector air time moments like that other guy is acting like.
  18. now you can just try to pay close attention to all the extra support they add after. or, where they are in the repaint. currently, i think they are working on the double down area.
  19. You've never riden an RMC have you? Lol. You're going to get a pop of air over every. Single. Hill. All of them. And most with force lol. no i have, but i don't think they are all CRAZY airtime like most think. but again, looking at all the new picture, the double up part i doubt will have anything. the down should be pretty okay though.
