I find it VERY interesting that all the SFMM fanboys keep saying how it's dueling all the time, but everyone I've heard from who has traveled from outside of the area to ride haven't seen the ride duel. Hmm..... it's definitely spotty the one day, memorial day, that i went. but i was impressed to see it duel a good amount. far from every time, but i'd give my best guess at roughly 50% at least once. but did see, to my amazement, a number of duels in a row. with a bunch of TPR riders and even an average crew, i'd guess it's going to duel most of the time we are there. it only took one dumb lady making an operator come and get something to hand to a friend on the exit ramp to kill our chance for the first part duel of my ride. grrr

The line earlier was out to the front of the station, 2 train operation (purple/blue), and was about 35-40 minutes... assigned seating, but got them to grant me the back seat. NOW, I'm in line again (18:50, started once again at the front of the station) and TC has been down for the last 30 minutes (got in line at 17:55), and they just evacuated an entire train off the track (I assume right before one of the lift hills). They just also announced it'll have an "extended delay" and recommended people check out other attractions. We shall see how long I wait this out update: left the line at 19:15, it was still down at 19:45 bummer

here's an interesting question or observation...did the vinyl seats on TC all fade to the brown they are now or did they actually change the color? i was just looking for a picture of the seat because i liked how they have an RMC logo in them on the backs. looking at construction images and the iappa pics, the seats are black. i know during the commercial filming i was commenting on how they were faded, but always thought they were brown, until i just looked at pics now. man, the sun is just brutal out in the santa clarita valley.

squeal to me is just flat nylon or poly wheels on flat steel track. maybe even steel wheels on the flat track. (alan shilke said that wicked cyclone is currently running all three types of wheels) now, whether or not the noise matters at all is another story. unless someone from RMC gives us their opinion, not sure we'll ever know. but, i'm guessing it doesn't matter one bit.

If that's the case, do you mind quoting it so we don't have to go searching? Regarding Revolution, I know a popular SFMM blogger had his ear torn while riding it last week, not sure if that has something to do with it being closed. Maybe it's at that point where they're running into potential lawsuits by keeping it open and will be forced to get new trains. it was open Monday. i took the shortcut thru the top of the path down passed the exit as i admired the horrible dirty conditions behind the station. lol

it wasn't like that when i was in the station que. there were some, but not many. i did just push forward at the split where the attendant was going to split the line and let some ADA people through. that group definitely knew someone to get the pass. but yeah, when i was there, it wasn't that bad. i think the ride duration is just long enough that it just doesn't have the capacity like a Goliath when it ran 3 train operation effeciently.

what i can believe is, we don't have enough employees to be fast enough to make it worth running three trains. ie: 3 attendants per side vs. 1 or 2. yesterday they had 2 on each side, and two board operators. one doing all the dispatching and the other helping check the seat sensors. the rest were just standing behind the board like you see in the pic i posted.

This early in the rides life it's possible the way SFMM operates. Sad but true. Usually with 3 trains an additional operator or two is required. The way their training is set up is that anyone can become an "attendant" in a matter of minutes, but to be fully certified for certain positions it's a longer training process. Given that so much of their workforce are kids in high school, they probably haven't had a chance to train as many operators as they would like to. i just don't understand why 3 trains needs more workers than 2. they are only dealing with one at a time.

when i was there yesterday, memorial day, and in line for TC, there was just a small line outside. then it opened up and it seemed like they were waiting for people to come in. i saw the worker on the side door asking people if they wanted to come in. i wasn't surprised cause it seemed like everyone was in line for TC. lol

just got home from my memorial day adventure... that place was disney packed today. i'll have to check my dash cam to see how long it took, but as soon as we made it through the parking turnstile, it was stop and go...more stop than go. i want to say it took at least 30-40 minutes to park in the gravel/dirt north of freeman road. when i left, there were cars against the trees. so the lot was pretty packed there, too. long walk up to lots of people at security. anyway, finally to the end of the TC line which at the time i got it, was at the entrance to drop of doom with the 3 hour sign right there. 2:40 ish later, we were sitting in the back row...which, btw, i asked for, and was granted without any resistance whatsoever. great ride as usual, a walk counterclockwise to the exit for some exercise and my day was over. that was the longest i've ever waited for a ride. i've waited for the beast for 2 hours at night a long time ago, but i think that's the most. my friend could go, and i had the bring a friend i wasn't going to use any other day this week before it expires, so, screw it, let's check it out today. ride operators were doing pretty great. one operator was slow. the girl working the board when i was in the station was awesome. the trains dueled probably more than they didn't. i only got one side duel and it was a little late. the blue side as i suspected can haul ass up the lift faster than it ever did during the commercial filming. also, from reports, it seems the green can slow down even more than what's normal. so my dueling expectations have gone from thinking it would pretty much never, to expecting it to happen often. we would have dueled on my first trip out if it wasn't for one guest holding up something and making the attendant grab it and hand it to someone waiting on the exit ramp.
